"I thought with a "Thursday Night Date Night w/ Jazz" would be a fun & relaxing way to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately I was wrong. There were just the two of us in our party & there were probably no more than a dozen tables booked for the evening. When we arrived there was no hostess to greet us, had to go to the bar to get the attention of the bartender to seat us (3 patrons in the bar). Once we were seated they rushed to have us place our order & when my entree came there was no follow up by the wait staff. I had to go to the bar 20 min later & ask for my Delmonico steak to be returned to the kitchen as it was over cooked (table next to us had to send their lamb chops back for the same reason). Finally, were rushed to pay the check."

"Perfect noise level with jazz trio not too loud for talking during dinner, but perfect for entertainment and dancing. The filet mignon was delicious! Skirt steak in the Taste of Havana was not very good. We wished they had a wider menu with more vegetable side dish options, but I would go back to get that filet!"

"We went to Carlyle Club during Alexandria restaurant week so I have no comparison to other nights. But the service was great and the love jazz band added a wonderful vibe. The food was very good, standard fare, nothing incredibly out of the ordinary. I had the lobster bisque with field mignon and cheesecake for dessert. The steak was cooked more rare than medium rare but overall was a great cut of meet. The cheesecake was very tasty and included a strawberry sauce. Overall it was a very enjoyable evening and I'd definitely recommend for a special occasion or nice dinner out."

"Last time we were here, there was an amazing jazz band. This time, we had a pianist. No matter what the entertainment for the night, this is a great place, with great food, and will offer you hours of time to enjoy with your co-diners.

"We had a reservation for 7 PM (an early seating.No one was at the reservation desk. We, along with another party waited 5 minutes until someone finally escorted us to a table. We immediately were served bread, butter and water."Great start",I thought, as many restaurants wait too long to bring anything to the table!But it was an allusion! The receptionist placed us at a table next to a large group, who, unfortunately was also our waiter. This is management issues, as the waiter couldn't handle both parties. Our food was average.I ordered salmon w/extra sauce & my companion had crabcakes. Hers was fine, mine was cold.The veggies were unequally sauteed ( some cooked properly, some not).All in all, not a good experience & would NOT return!"

"Husband and I had a really nice night at Carlyle Club's restaurant week. Food was good - nothing great, but good. Wine list was small, but had some unique bottles. They were out of several we tried to order, though (on a Friday; hopefully they got a shipment on Saturday morning for the balance of the weekend). Service was incredibly slow, but very courteous. In looking around, it seemed like there fore 4 waiters for the entire restaurant, so that combined with us not being in a rush, kept us relaxed and happy.
The pianist was quite lovely - a really nice way to have an evening out with some light entertainment. Could be fun with a band, although not sure I need to eat here again."

"The Food was great for resturant week and the portions was plenty. The staff was professional and kind. I recommend this resturant for people that is looking to take out their friends or significant other for a romantic evening or to celebrate a special occasions. The jazz music playing in the background is uplifting. The pianist Brenda definitley put me to sleep. But I heard from others that jazz night is great! Classy, upscale, clean....I rate this resturant a 10+ on service."

"I made a dinner reservation at the Carrlyle Club to celebrate my husband's 52nd Birthday. Needless to say, when we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, so we had to wait about 5 minutes until a young lady arrived at the desk with a plate in hand. Once we were shown to our seats the service and dinner experience was nice. Before exiting the resturant, I wanted to have a picture taken with my husband and I with my cell phone. Of course, the same young lady was no where to be found. I took a chance, and knocked on the coat room door, only to have another young lady and the front desk girl (sitting on the floor with another plate eating). My only complaint is the unprofessionalism of the front house staff. Other then that, nice plac"
