When philosophy and action proceed hand-in-hand, something extraordinary happens: a guiding principle is formed.
For Chef/Owner Mark Elliott, that principle is to serve the best and freshest locally produced agrarian products to his guests. It's a principle that was formed in Mark's childhood, and as a young apprentice chef in Southeastern England. Mark would further develop a deep connection to the green grocer, the baker, the fish monger, the butcher, the cheesemaker. Daily sourcing for the kitchens provisions was a way of life.
From this restaurant's first days, Chef Elliott has forged relationships with regional farmers to obtain their produce, livestock and artisan products when they are at the peak of freshness.
Today, Chef Elliott continues to serve guests cuisine crafted from the fresh ingredients that the area's farmers have to offer. It's a principle we live with every plate we serve.
"Four of us had a wonderful dinner fro appetizersd through dessert with excellent wine from a moderately priced list. From the elk I ordered to the shrimp and grits ordered by another diner in my group all was quite tasty and beautifuly presented. Mark Elliott joined us a for a glasss of wine and that capped off a delightful dining experience."

"We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Elliott's on Linden as did several other couples on May 1. The food is fresh farm to table and very well prepared. The cedar plank salmon is a house specialty and was outstanding, as was the service."

"Had some friends from NY in for 5 days of golf. Ate out four nights . Elliott's was the highlight restaurant of the week for them. Great food. Great service. Thanks for a great night and reunion with old friends."

"We found Elliott's online and were pleased with the service, food and surroundings here. I ordered triple-fries with truffle mayo and then a great crab and avocado salad. My husband had the prix-fixe: duck appetizer, then scallops and a chocolate creme brulee. What a great way to end a pleasant day trip to Pinehurst! We will be eager to return."

"Excellent food with unique menu choices and interesting combinations. We ate here as a special occasion and it was well worth it. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was very quiet. There is a nice little adjoining store where you can purchase specialty food and home items."

"Every meal was well prepared and well presented. Prepared as requested and in some cases with alternative sides to those specified in the menu. Service attentive. Corkage fee of $20 allowed me to bring an older wine from my cellar. Menu limited for our Vegan guest;ran out of the special but made a nice substitution. Great experience."

"Although we are not on a diet, we weren't in the mood for appetizers. A "smaller" salad would have been nice but is not listed so we didn't have salad. We got our bottle of wine and sat there drinking it for an extended period without interruption. No bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. No entrees either.
Entrees finally arrived - then came the biscuits. Two of them (one for each of us), and they were bite sized (translation - one bite and they're gone).
Entrees were delicious, cooked to perfection. There was just this Long period where there was nothing except terminal boredom."

"The food was outstanding! The shrimp with grits was flavorful and satisfying. We both had the cedar plank Salmon 'special', and like other reviews, we found it, indeed, to be very special. Cooked and seasoned to perfection! The homemade desserts are well worth the indulgence, as we thoroughly enjoyed the cheesecake and chocolate creme brule. This was a noteable dining experience. Our compliments and thanks to Chef Elliott."

"Best salmon I have ever had! Fabulous service, fantastic meal! Thanks for making our parent's 50th Anniversary so very special! We love Elliots and it is our favorite place in Pinehurst! Great wine selection and the retail store is wonderful as well. Great place to pick up a picnic and everything you might need to make it!"

"Our waitress did a great job overcompensating for chaos. It was Valentine's night and I think the restaurant took more reservations than the kitchen could handle. It took a long time to be waited on and for the food to arrive, but we loved the ambiance and the waitress' positive attitude. We will go back but I advise they work on the overall flow of a busy night like that."

"I went here with my fiancee for Valentine's Day. Although we had reservations we showed up 40 minutes early, however the staff was very accommodating despite what turned out to be a busy night. The elk was cooked to perfection and the menu is varied enough for most tastes."

"We booked this as our Valentine's Meal on a trip that we have taken to the Sandhills about 6 out of the last 8 years. 2 years ago we walked out because the hostess was so arrogant and no one would wait on us. This time the restaurant was packed, but the food was only so-so. The Prixe fixe was a little unusual as the chef said for a couple, both (or neither) of the parties had to order it? Wine list was okay but not extraordinary, and the dessert portions were tiny. For this price point, go to Ironwood Cafe, or Southern Prime."

"As always, this was a fabulous dining experience. Our server, Amanda, was delightful, and that is why we ask for her when we make reservations. This has become a favorite haunt for us in the area."
