Arabelle at The Hotel Plaza Athenee features modern American cuisine in a contemporary, elegant setting. A gorgeous room with a gold-domed ceiling is the backdrop for our innovative menu. A la carte and prix fixe menus options are available. Highly rated in Zagat 2012.Bar Seine is as romantic as they come.
"A fight in the kitchen could be heard in the dining room as there were only two tables dining......service was okay - you know what? It was just an off day for them.....food was fine but I would not pay extra for the ambiance again."

"Arabelle is located in a the beautiful Hotel Plaza Athenee. My friends and I were greeted warmly and led to a beautiful room where we ate the prix fixed lunch. Perfect for ladies, I am not sure my husband would have not needed to order off the main menu. The only down side is there are no windows in the room and there were only two other tables dining there. This restaurant suited our needs as we wanted something not too far from the Frick Museum, but if you were looking for something lively and more energetic you would have been disappointed."

"This place is a true treasure. Tony, our server, made our evening so very special. The food was divine, the wine perfect and one of the most romantic dinners ever! Can't wait to go back."

"Food was mediocre, service was poor and prices were over the top. They added an automatic 20% tip to the bill but waiter then asked for another tip without explaining that the tip was already included -- a real ripoff.

"Went for Valentine's dinner because Open Table said it was one of the most romantic restaurants in NYC. NO WAY! It was an overpriced old age home for waiters too old to work at Peter Lugers or Smith and Wolensky. We will never go back!"

"Disappointed by the Restaurant week menu. The food was not that good for such an upscale restaurant. ( I'm especially talking about the Pork Appetizer of the 3rd week)."

"The place was really small compare what it looked like in photos. The food was average and nothing exceptional. The whole hotel had that old feeling and needs renovations. The restaurant week menu was short and had very poor selections. I don't think I want to go back again."

"A quiet venue with excellent service and food. A great place when you want to spend a few extra dollars to have a terrific meal and enjoy the quiet ambviance. My wife and I took an overnight trip to the city for a show and had a great time. We ate lunch during restaurant week at Arabelle. My wife ordered off of the regular menu while I had the restaurant week offerings. We both very much enjoyed the experience."

"When I made the reservation for Arabelle, in the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, on East 64th Street, near Madison Avenue, I requested a booth in a quiet section of the restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised that the restaurant complied totally with these requests. The service, overall, was very professional and gracious. The décor was busy and a bit dated. The maître d suggested that Arabelle’s participation in Restaurant Week was for marketing purposes, so I can’t understand why the portions were so small, the dinner menu, although elegantly presented, so unimaginative, the food so bland and underwhelming; the Parmesan Consommé, for example, had no flavor, and the Broccoli Risotto was too green (and it wasn’t even St. Patrick’s Day) to enjo"

"While the service and the place itself is lovely, the food is just ok. Had a steak that was just meat. You would think they could make a decent steak. I left most of it on the plate, and my fault for not saying anything but you would have thought they would ask is everything ok"

"Had a lovely lunch in the small but well appointed dining room. Cozy enough to feel like you're in someone's living room, but elegant and well appointed. Had the lentil soup to start (fantastic), the risotto with clams, chorizo and monk fish (delicious without being heavy) and the pear tart for desert. Really enjoyed the meal and recommend it. Everyone was pleasant and friendly."

"My husband and I took his mom and her two girlfriends for a Restaurant Week dinner at Arabelle. They were all visiting and wanted a fancy night out. They loved the ambiance, gushed about the food, and whispered comments about folks at other tables. It was a perfect evening out for them. In comparison to other Restaurant Week experiences we've had, I'd say the ambiance is lovely--the restaurant is quiet, warmly lit, and cozy. The service was earnest if not highly polished, but everyone from the bell hops to the coat check attendant to the servers smiled warmly. The trout salad was fair for my prix fixe first course. The scallops entree was delightful--rich and creamy with toasted almonds to add a bit of crunch. Dessert yummy and plentiful."

"This hotel restaurant is elegant, yet unpretentious. The wait staff is extremely attentive without being intrusive. Our Restaurant Week meal was completely delicious and generously sized, as were our a la carte glasses of wine. Even the rest room was elegant and was spotlessly clean. I could not recommend this dining venue more highly."
