"I like Donna's a lot. Nice location, outdoor space, good food, easygoing feel and good service. The wine list is not extensive but well-thought out and with some interesting choices. On this visit I had the polenta cake first course and then the mussels. I've had the polenta cake before and loved it--it was a perfect first course. This time it was very salty--so disappointing. I hope it was just a glitch that day. Mussels were perfectly steamed. We loved the salted caramel ice cream. Our server was attentive but not driving us crazy by constantly asking how we were doing--a real problem in most restaurants. She was friendly and knowledgeable but never intrusive."

"A group of 10 of us had lunch mid-day on a Tuesday. The place was not overly busy but there did not appear to be enough wait staff. The food was ok, but in previous visits, it has been better. I ordered a lamb burger, medium, and it was over cooked. Several at the table ordered the grilled cheese with applewood bacon, etc. One order was very delayed because it was delivered to the wrong table and others reported their sandwich was "dried out." On a day that was not all that busy I expected better. We'll go back because Donna's is "in the neighborhood" and overall, we like it."

"It was very busy when we were there for lunch on Monday. Our server was lovely, but she had so many tables to serve that things were very slow, even never picking up the check with my credit card (I paid on the way out).. Luckily, we were seated in the tent on the terrace where it was much less noisy. Inside, it is too loud to have a good conversation. Food was delicious; I just wish there were more vegetarian options like there used to be."

"There was only one food table set up, with only one person to make the omelets and carve the meat. Dishes were not replaced promptly. With these problems, a long line built up that did not move. I was definitely not positively impressed with the brunch, although I generally like the food. I would return to the restaurant, but not for brunch."

"The dishes were hit and miss. The cooking has not evolved and feels dated. A polenta small plate was very good but strangely buried in undressed arugula. My husband's scallop plate was too acidic. The bread was better than usual this time...very fresh. Donna's is a great fall back place to go when you want to relax and not think to much about the food."

"Brunch selection was excellent - featuring many of Donna's well-known and appreciated signature items (i.e. Roasted veggies and awesome salads) Service was lacking - there was just very little - the only way to get our table of 4 needs met (water, order more drinks) was to repeatedly try to catch our server's eye to get her attention; thus causing us to stop trying and leave without ordering another round. Would recommend the buffet brunch because of the delicious food but good luck on getting the extras."

"The food at Donna's is always great. The service in recent visits has been spotty. Our waitress was very attentive, but the kitchen seems to be having a really hard time delivering food in anything resembling a timely manner. It took 30 minutes to receive a simple house salad, and another 40 minutes after that to receive our meals. The restaurant was 3/4 full. Overall, the dinner took 2 1/2 hours. One other concern is we were seated in an heated outdoor section and the heater kept going out. It got extremely cold quickly -- the staff quickly restarted the heater upon request, but next time we go we'll be sure to ask for an inside table."

"This is my second time at Donna's in the past month - once for lunch and once for dinner. I enjoyed the food both times, and the friendly service is consistent - attentive and personable without being cloying. Both times my partner and I shared the meal and when we mentioned it to the server they split entrees and appetizers in half and served them to us, which was so much nicer than having to transfer the meals ourselves. Definitely a nice touch. I will go back again and highly recommend it to everyone."

"Well, we caught them in a chaotic time with Valentine's Day crowd. They had sold out of oyster appetizer. But, the worst was that husband ordered a filet; got a substitute lower grade steak without even being told of the substitution. Also, they ran out of glasses for martinis. All and all a disaster evening out."
