"We were there the other night for dinner. We live in PGA West and have not been there in quite some time. There had been nothing really special aside from being close to home and the view that kept us coming back. We were pleasantly surprised the other night. We started off with a Caesar salad and split it between my two girlfriends. This time they actually split the salad. We were pleasantly surprised. Another pleasant surprise was that they offered warm bread for the first time. The rest of the night was nothing less with the exception of the veggie burger which looked fabulous but the flavor was just so-so. The gal behind the bar was fabulous that night. Bring back your happy hour to include food. We will be back!"

"Our server Taylor was terrific and the VB was home made by the chef with mushrooms, beans, corn and it was delicious! It was served on a multi grain bun; would ask for extra pickels. Good salad; french fries just OK. It was noisy even at 2 PM, with lots of golfer reliving their game. We will definity return!"

"Thoroughly enjoyable. We live in the San Fernando Valley and go to visit my brother in Palm Desert. We have been here twice and loved eating outside on the 18th hole. Food is great and staff is very attentive. Good bar; wine list good. Will go again."

"Too many good places in the area that are much more attentive to service and food quality. Found their wine list to be very overpriced. Food was OK, but nothing outstanding. The only way to enjoy this restaurant is to eat outside and be very very patient with time, as the service is not that good."

"Restaurant overlooks the PGA West golf course. The oysters were delicious. The meatloaf is great " comfort food" and the bologanase is a recipe Chef Fernando Cruz brought from Italy which everyone loved. The wines are affordable and the donut hole desert is the best. Great evening dining on the patio and there is a mister system."

"Dining date: Wed May 8, 2013:
After an unfortunate experience the week prior, we decided to give Ernie's Prime Rib night another chance. This time everything was great! The service was very good (as usual) and the food was right up to the standards we have come to expect. Complimentary bruschetta to start followed by perfectly cooked Prime Rib. We understand that issues occasionally arise even in the best restaurants. Looks like Chef Fernando is right on top of things. Hope that this continues through the summer and look forward to returning during the season."

"We live at PGA West and have enjoyed the convenience of visiting Ernie's often. The service is normally very good and throughout the winter so was the food. We met friends for dinner the other night and were incredibly disappointed with the food. We arrived early at 5:30 PM. Two in our party ordered the "special" prime rib (med-rare). When it arrived at the table, it was more than well-done. While it is the fault of the kitchen for overcooking the meat, the server should not have presented it to the table. Appropriately, replacement items were promptly brought to the table. Also, the salad which I have ordered more than 6 times arrived completely differently than in the past. Understandably things are winding down... but???"

"We had a great time at Ernie's. Service was excellent (friendly hostess which accommodated our request and our server Alex was attentive). The food was excellent as well. We went for dinner and we enjoyed everything. We had a treat from the Chef who sent a delicious and beautiful appetizer for the table (Thanks!!). To start the evening we had the amazing, and I mean amazing, oysters!!! I had the meatloaf (excellent dish) and my husband got the salmon (he cleaned the plate). For dessert we took Alex suggestion and we ordered the donuts; perfect ending. Overall it was a great experience. On top of this great dining experience, we got to enjoy the amazing views that the restaurant has (overlooks PGA West Golf course)."

"We had a very lovely evening at Ernie's! Our table was on the terrace and the view to the 18th hole of the J.Nick Golfcourse was just beautiful!The service was very good, so was the food. I had Fish and Chips, one of my friends had the Flatbread, which was good as well and one had the Wings, which are always excellent at Ernie's.We soon will go back!"

"We had a wonderful time the fish & chips were great as usual and the burger with all the fixings really hit the spot. We shared a banana split - and it was well worth the extra calories - also had a bailey on the rocks to top it off - service was excellent - also highly recommend reservations as your table will be ready and you will not have to wait as it can get busy!!!"

"We had eaten lunch here twice before and were seated on the deck where the scenery is beautiful and our lunches were delicious. I wasn't as happy with the evening menu and being inside the bar. "We had heard good things about Ernies, and since we were renting a condo in PGA West, we decided to try it. Other than the view, I was not impressed. I should not have been surprised, at the end of a sunny day of golf, that folks would be out on the deck, drinking, smoking and getting rowdy, with the music blasting. And it was LOUDER on the inside. Off-putting. The menu was limited - glorified bar food. The food itself was good, 50/50 burger, and turkey club. The dessert, the chocolate cake, was fair. To their credit, as the night came on, the music and the crowd quieted down as the stars emerged. Probably won't be back."

"We booked this reservation weeks ago via open table
thinking that would give us some type of priority seating.
But, upon the restaurant confimation we were told that was not
the case. We were to sit inside next to the bar.
I did request outdoor seating at that time which I was told that I would
be accommodated. We were put on the patio, but at a banquet table
that was too large for our group. No big deal, I guess.
There was a group next to us that had kids running around and wrestling each other
to the ground. No effort was made to contain them or to reduce their noise/screaming.
But, the service was good and the food was decent."
