"Chef Roy and the staff do an amazing job. Their creativeness and attention to detail provide for great dining. All the food is fresh and chef Roy uses only the freshest and best ingredients. Every time we are in the Huntington Beach area we find an excuse to eat here and to see what the staff has come up with that's new like homemade cereral ice cream or the tiramisu, not to mention the AMAZING. Mac & Cheese or for dinner, the apple pork chop. Simply the best!"

"I have been going to Zimzalla since it opened.. It is my partner and I favorite restaurant to eat at.. we have had parties, just went to brunch or had a beautiful sunset dinner... The place has everything and we love it... Never have had a bad experience... Thank you for making my partners birthday a extra special one!!!"

"Good first experience. Very good for a hotel restaurant. Service (aside from the hostess) was excellent. Very attentive waitstaff with spot-on recommendations. Drinks were very good. Salads/starters were excellent. Main dishes were Jekyll and Hyde though. The proteins - wife had the ribeye and I the pork chop - were exceptional. The sides on the plate were a big question mark however. Probably not their best effort. It's nice to have an upscale dinner & drinks alternative in downtown HB. Bar looks like it could be very fun with the right crowd. Look forward to coming back."

"The food was good but I expected the service to be a little more high endish. I felt that our server would be better suited to be working at Applebee's. Some simple requests such as adding a couple of people to a larger party... In a slow restaraunt took the staff 10-15 minutes to execute. Again this was in a half empty restaraunt."

"Very slow service. My party of 2 was there for over 2 hours not because we were taking our time eating but because it took forever to get every course (3 courses). It also took a while to get the drink menu. The waitress that delivered my beer was spilling it all over herself and over our table and didn't bother to clean up the mess.
The food wasn't that great either. For the price and ambiance, I was expecting better tasting, more thought out selections. Food tasted OK, but I could get better at somewhere like Panera..."

"The menu was fun and the food was good. Porkchop is excellent. The service was friendly but very slow. Usually it's about 2 hours for 8 people when we go out but we were there 3 hours. Maybe they were busy or understaffed, it didn't look like it though. It was VERY noisy in there and hard to hear at our table but it gave it a fun, casual saturday night feel. I ended my meal with a great sparkling rose and belgian waffle for dessert. It was a whole waffle so be sure to share if you get this. We had fun and would definitely be back."

"Unfortunately we went during OC restaurant week and the restaurant was not prepared . Hostess barely greeted us then forgot we were there with the reservation as we waited for a table. Reminded them and then they had to find a table. The bar and kitchen was so backed up we waited easily 30 to 40 minutes between each course for our food. The dining experience was incredibly slow very poor. The server was as polite as he could be and he comped our drinks because of the poor experience. Seems like good happy hour. cocktail, appetizer place on their balcony but I would never go there for dinner again."

"Kitchen seems like it was unable to turn around food quickly. From start to finish the meal took over 2.5 hours. Our drinks arrived about 30 mins after getting seated. We didnt get our appetizers until about 1 hour into the meal. This was not only happening to us as there were many other tables frustrated. Only thing saving this place was the waitress was friendly and doing her best with the situation."

"Our second time here in past six months...came for lunch on OC restaurant week great calamari to start....Marci had the grilled shrimp cocktail..Scottish Salmon for the entree very well presented and very good...Marci had the entree salad in keeping with her healthy lifestyle and calorie counts....I on the other hand enjoy all foods...the desert was beautiful...and very rich... Our server Jenna was bright and cheerful and very good at her job....so all in all we will be back and its a great place to have lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon'"

"We had a very nice experience at Zimzala. We live within a few blocks of the restaurant and had actually forgotten about it since there are so many choices in the downtown area of Huntington Beach. We made reservations for 7:30 PM and were met and greeted by the manager at the front. He then lead us to the beautiful dining room and seated us. Our waitress was outstanding from the corking of the wine to the finish. There was a problem with our lamb and she immediately said she would take the charge off of our bill. I asked to see the manager to compliment him on having such good service and he was again very gracious. We will become a regular at Zimzala."
