"They used to have fantastic burgers. Now, even when you ask they be cooked medium, they come out extremely well done. Gross. Why even ask how I want it cooked? I've had this happen twice now. Will not bother going back again."

"We loved the California burgers! Truly a knife-and-fork delicacy.
Tried one of their microbrews, and it was smooth and the perfect temperature . My date had the fresh-squeezed lemonade and we shared the apple bread pudding-- good thing, because it was huge, but just the right amount of sweetness after our savory meal.
We'll be back soon-- have to try the flight of beers next!"

"No matter what else I order, the garlic fries are a must. Had the chicken salad sandwich --- absolutely a treat for the taste buds. Also enjoyed a cup of navy bean soup. Too much food, actually, but all extremely tasty. It was easy to carry on a conversation with my friend as we shared the garlic fries, A great lunch, as ususal."

"We've been several times and I anticipate we'll be going back. My boyfriend could write a love song to their steak... I'd have to agree. Also loved the ahi tuna and garlic fries. The beer is pretty excellent, they have a decently priced sampler. My favorite is the hefeweizen."

"The staff is typically warm and friendly, even when bombarded with walk-ins. The restaurant is near the Spy Museum and gets a lot of families. So things tend to be hectic. However, tables open up fast. The menu has something for everyone. My companion had a generous burger with all the "heart-stopping" fixin's while I had a heart-healthy stir-fry. The only negative was that our server waited until we asked for the check to offer a refill on drinks.
All-in-all, you will walk in, be initially overwhelmed, then seated quickly and settle in to a good meal with friendly people."

"Our office loves Gordon Biersch and we were hoping to start a monthly lunch outing. Unfortunately, the outing was anything but frustrating. Our garlic fries had no garlic on them. Our office is a big fan and frequently gets them to go so we know the difference. The appetizer of garlic fries was in the size of a cereal bowl for 7 people. Our 7th guest arrived late and our waitress who was practically non-existent throughout the entire meal and rarely checked on us didn't even realize our 7th guest had arrived until the food arrived. Our food arrived and not only our garlic fries that arrived with the entrees not have garlic but the food was cold and had clearly been waiting to be delivered. I will not be frequenting this location again"

"We've always loved Gordon Biersch. Have to say they are very good about adjusting reservation time based on traffic and our table is always immediately available. Great atmosphere and convenient to Verizon Center. On the down side, we have noticed lately that meal portions seem to be getting smaller (although the food is still very good). The last two times we visited, the service has been quite poor. Waited almost 40 minutes for our food and then another 20 minutes for the waiter to return so we could request ketchup. (By then the fries were cold.)"

"In one word: disappointing. My burger was good (Marzen BBQ), but my dining partner's margherita pizza was almost bowling-alley-quality. That, and the pizza wasn't even the one we ordered. The service was excruciatingly slow, but I don't necessarily blame our waiter since he had quite a few tables to manage. Basically, our lesson is to go to Gordon Biersch for the burgers and beer, not the pizza."

"A great place to have dinner before a Verizon Center event......always attentive service. Tonight, Victoria (from Maldova) was our server and she was terrific. One of those servers who makes you want to come back. Great salmon dinner and super BBQ sandwich."

"Stopped in for a dinner with two vegetarians in tow. One had the margarita pizza which was a bit appetizer like, though it was plenty enough for them. The other had the veggie tacos which were super - recommend this one. I had the miso mahi which was also good. Atmosphere a little noisy, but service was great and their home brew beers are a refreshing change. I'll be back again."

"The food was terrible--my husband and kids ordered the Kobe burgers and asked for them to be cooked medium well. They arrived black and charred. When I asked our server to replace the worst of the three burgers, she was surly and suggested we just eat it because it would take 20 minutes to get a new one. Overall, not a pleasant experience."

"Don't waste your time. Food was bland and came out cold, and prices were reflecting of the name on the door, not the quality of the experience. Service was slow, waited 15 min before anyone even came to the table after being sat, and then we only say her 3 times after. Don't waster your time or money, go somewhere else."

"My book club and I ate at Gordon Biersch on a Tuesday night. The place was packed and definitely loud but I credit that more to the high ceilings than the crowd being obnoxious. It's an attractive restaurants with again, high ceilings, lots of tall windows and interesting architecture. It certainly doesn't look like any sports bar or brewery I'm used to. The food was good but just that - good. I'd go again, definitely, but this isn't a place that's going to blow you away culinarily. The beer I had was good too. This is a nicer burger/beer/fries joint which is fine by me. I'd recommend it but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go there either."

"We've been here for dinner and happy hour before, and decided to try it out with our elderly grandparents when they visited DC. The menu is so large and varied that there is something for anyone or craving. The service was good, the food was good and not overpriced, it was a little loud, but we were very comfortable."

"My server was pleasant, but unenthusiastic. Service was slower than I have experienced on other game days. I maintain that $6.50 for a small (very small) plate of Garlic Fries is arrogant. It was the same amount of fries that I got as a side dish with my burger, so I won't be doing that any more. A $6.50 appetizer should be enough for a few people to share and not have it be gone in less than three minutes. This was as close to disappointed as I have been in GB. Again, even though a Game Night, this location has risen to the occasion in the past and really failed to justify their pricing on this occasion."

"Our waiter was very good and helpful. It was a little pricey, especially the drinks and the appetizers for the amount you were given. We ordered the southwest spring rolls which were very good but it only served 4 and for almost $10 you would think you would get more than 4. My husband's burger was very good but he did say it was warm and not hot. The atmosphere was very nice and I think we will go again if the opportunity comes again."

"We went here on our way to the CAPs game, and the food was very good. I was not as pleased with the service. Our server took our drink order, and I thought he would know the beers at a micro-brewery. When I asked if they had any wheat beers, he said no, but then when I told him I would like water, so I could decide, I noticed there was a Hefeweizen on the menu, which of course, is a wheat beer. He then came back and somewhat rudely asked if we were going to order any food or drinks, which of course we were. I ordered my Hefeweizen, and a flatbread, and my boyfriend, got a burger. We waited a long time for the beer, which the server forgot to put the order in. When we did finally get the food, it was very good, and the beer was good too."
