"A wee bit on he pricy side, but food is excellent. Had crab, corn and brie bisque, tomato & moz salad, Stroube Roll appetizer. Louisiana Catch of the Day and Duck entrees. All very tasty. Amaretto Crème Brulee for dessert to top off the evening.

"The food was lukewarm. The server was very courteous, but not well trained. For example, he tried to explain why one of the entree's being ordered cooks faster than others, as if suggesting that it might be brought out sooner. It's not the diner's job to time the delivery of the entrees. I asked for some simple ice cream for desert. They brought out another desert for one of our diners without bringing the ice cream or the coffee that was ordered at the same time. When the coffee was finally brought out, and we asked where the ice cream was, I was finally told that they couldn't find any vanilla ice cream in the restaurant. By that point, the other diner had nearly finished her dessert. And they tried to clear dishes that I hadn't finished."

"Took two new customers here. Overall - a very pleasant experience with innovative, creative cuisine. One slip up - they overcooked my customer's steak and he sent it back. Also he didn't care for the Blue Shroom sauce on his steak and had that take it off on the send-back.
Personally, I had the same thing - with the Blue Shroom sauce and LOVE it! and my steak was cooked perfectly - so write this off as one of those rare mishaps.
Beyond the steak mishap the customers enjoyed themselves, the food and the overall experience"

"Ribs are something I order anytime I see them as a menu item. The ribs here are probably my favorite in the country - very innovative with the braising and sauce. Great cocktails and bartenders as well. I insist on returning to Stroubes every time I am in Baton Rouge."

Least favorite: Veal Sweetbreads - they were fried and ended up tasting like chicken nuggets. They should cook them the way they did at Clancy's, where they are outstanding.
The place is relatively small but has a very nice atmosphere with good service."

"Pork Shank was out of this world. Meat was so tender it fell off the bone. My wifes steak was cooked a perfect midrare-med. Had scallops for our appetizer they also were very good. Service was always there never needed anything. Dining out downtown was very a very enjoyable walking thru park and 3rd street afterwards."

"My friend and I were pretty disappointed with our experience at Stroubes. Our waitress set the tone for an unpleasant evening. She was not very friendly or patient with us. She also took a very long time to bring us our check when there were only 3 or 4 other tables taken at that point in the evening. The ambiance was fine. I was disappointed with my Filet Mignon. I have had better at a chain restaurant. The outside was cooked too much for a Medium steak. The sides were fair. The crawfish smothered rice was something I feel I've had time and time again. We were mostly disappointed because many people had recommended the place, but I don't think I'll be returning or telling others to go there."

"Food was very good. Unlike some chop house type places meals came with very tasty sides and was a complete meal. I especially liked the bacon and blue cheese grits!! The pork chop was also very good and grilled perfectly. Overall good food and one of the better places in downtown BR. Nothing amazing or fine dinning but it is an above average seafood and steak restaurant and certainly one of the best bets to take clients or go if in BR for work etc."

"The place was really good. The server was very knowledgeable, switched our wine choice and his recommendation was perfect. Apps. were a nice change from regular one you might find other places. Food was good and out quickly.
