"Every time we visit St. Simons Island, we have Sunday brunch in the Grand Dining Room at the Jekyll Island Club. We love the good food, the live piano music, and the historic, lovely ambiance. We miss the days when you had to "dress for dinner," but it still was very nice. We will come again next time."

"Wonderful place. The food was delicious - the rack of lamb was the best ever and my filet mignon was delicious and I could cut it with a table knife. The atmosphere was great and the wait staff were excellent. It reminded us of being on a cruise."

"We had a pretty late dinner for a Wednesday night at 8 p.m. And were one of a handful of tables at dinner. We were served water and bread right away because there were individuals for each of those tasks. Our waiter had only two other tables and we waited 15 minuts for him to approach our table. He didn't apologize or recognize he was slow in any way. It was a burden for him to bring the very unimpressive wine list over and he continued his extremely slow service as the number of tables dwindled to just ours. It still took him over ten minutes to bring us our check and we were only one of three tables in the whole restaurant, none of the others were his. The food was good but not great, really hoping for more in both service and taste."

"We enjoyed our 4th dining experience at the Grand Dining room recently & will most definitely return! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The Ambiance is romantic, splendid, classic - a return to a finer, gilded age. Breakfast was superb, the Sunday brunch was absolutely the best brunch that I can remember attending in over 20 years! The tables were perfectly appointed & every classic dish that one would expect in a "real" brunch was on display & more.
We so appreciated the grand effort of their pastry chef & staff to create the most gorgeous & delicious anniversary cake in the world & our most recent dining experience was topped off by the most creative dark chocolate mousse sea turtle dessert! I will never forget it!"

"A terrific restaurant in an old magnificent hotel on the water. The hotel and dining room are a throwback to another era even the live music for Sunday evening dinner and dancing is 40's oldies. The restaurant was very busy and the food came out cold, the waiter told us they usually serve half as many on Sunday. Still a very pleasant experience but for the prices being busy is not an excuse for a cold dinner."

"We were there for our 25th Anniversary. My only complaint is that our table was a two top located right next to a column. I looked around and there were several 4 top tables with couples sitting at them and I think we should have been afforded the same courtesy. Not only that but with all the open tables why seat people right on top of each other. Otherwise, our experience was great."

"This was our third visit to the Grand Hotel; the setting is marvelous. We were appropriately greeted by wait staff and then the slow-down began. It took forever to have our orders taken; then we moved to the piano to listen but still had to wait to have our salads served. Time between salad and main course was lengthy, and only one of the three entrees was hot when delivered. Salad was huge--enough for a meal. The sauce on the scallop entree was so cold that it was congealed. Dessert and coffee was delightful. For the price we paid, we expected better service and better food. We will return because we love the setting, but we will be more hesistant to bring guests and most definintely will be more careful of what we order.

"The service was excellent as was the food. One member of our party dropped an expensive laser pointer and our server found it after we had left. They called us to let us know they had it and we could pick it up at our convenience. Nice to know there are honest people in the world and a restaurant will go out of it's way for the customer even after the bill has been paid.
If you go, save room for dessert. The chocolate turtle was AMAZING!"

"Jekyll Island Club Hotel and Restaurant have become one of our very favorites for speciall occassions - such as anniversaries - and weekend getaways! Relaxed, casual elegance, historic, romantic! The Sunday brunch is always superb! Servers are attentive, respect your space, and polite. Greeters are equally so. We celebrated our 41st Wedding Anniversary over a weekend and had a wonderful experience. A little to cold this trip to ride our bikes around the island - we look forward to a warmer day for this event."

"Our first time to the Jekyll Island Club and their Grand Dining Room was a most enjoyable evening. The restaurant was recommended by several friends so I took the opportunity to take my wife there for her birthday. Food and service were outstanding and I ordered the Georgia Mix Grill with Ga Buffalo Sausage, Venison and Wild Board and it was delicious with no gamey taste. The table by the fireplace with the pianist entertaining us was very romantic and made for a memorable birthday."

"Only had one complaint. This was my wife's birthday and I was looking for some place special. One thing that help select the Grand Dinning room was for men jackets are suggested. Dressing for dinner ranks high with my wife. When a group of people were seated wearing blue jeans, sweat shirts, baseball hats, and other clothing which I call yard dress, it put a damper on this special night. Everything else, from food to service, was fist class,"

"My mother and I went there for Sunday Brunch, and what a perfect place. The food was delicious, the piano music was relaxing, the decor was beautiful. My mother had never been there before, and I was concerned about her walking up the stairs, and there was handicap accessability for her with the electric lift from the valet parking.
