Republic of Texas Bar & Grill
The AAA Four-Diamond Republic of Texas Bar & Grill is one of Corpus Christi's top dining destinations. Located on the 20th floor of the Bayfront Tower, this multi-level restaurant offers diners beautiful panoramic views of the Corpus Christi bay. Featuring USDA prime beef cuts, a wide variety of wild game and seafood dishes daily, and an award winning wine list. Stop by and experience our Piano Lounge featuring the sounds of David Crawford. The lounge is open for cocktails and/or appetizers. If you don't have time to join us for dinner, please be our guest for lighter fare in the lounge. "We have just returned from our trip to Houston, we visited Corpus Christie for 2 nights this was the best meal ever and we had some fabulous meals in different restaurants but this topped them all, only get 1 side to share the portions were so big. "Food was pretty good, but definitely over prices especially with the other restaurant in the hotel offering similar items for less. Waitress was nice but didn't tell us there were kid menu options but then offered to make my daughter some pasta with cheese sauce and charged us $18! "The relaxed feel of the room was perfect for an 80th birthday dinner for my aunt. I had requested a window view of the harbor and it was beautiful. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The shrimp was truly jumbo and succulent with each of us having different dishes with shrimp. Service was well-timed and friendly, lighting the candles I provided in my aunt's dessert before serving. When we finished our car was called for and waiting as we left the hotel."

"This was a spur of the moment visit based on a trip my girlfriend and I made and we were excited to check this palce out due to the reviews others had gave us. First we were one of a handful of couples in the place when we arrived and my reason for choosing this restaurant was due to the reviews AND the scenery. We were sat next to a huge pillar which of course obstructed or view of the bay. I asked if we could relocate and the hostess told us no due to others eating there. As we are eating other couples (2 to be exact) also asked to move and were allowed to do so. I then asked the server to let us move and he made it happen. Weird. The food was pricey and pretty tasty but not as tasty as the price that it had on it. No big deal either way."

"This was our daughter's 21st birthday & we wanted to take her somewhere very special.

Our table had a beautiful view of the Lexington & Harbor bridge & it's continuous light show. Of course the food & service was excellent. And when the waiter put a birthday candle in her dessert, it added just that perfect final touch to her evening.

"I chose this location by a combination of recommendation by a friend and great online reviews from Open Table and Trip Adviser. I already had a reservation at the Omni Hotel, so the decision to dine at Republic of Texas restaurant fit into our plans perfectly. I wanted something nice and romantic, with great food, as I was planning to propose Saturday night. After dinner, my girlfriend and I made our way outside to the patio...twice. "Took my wife here for a romantic dinner out, it was our first time at Republic of Texas. Our first impression was very positive, the decor was nice, very "Texas," and we could hear a piano as we walked up to the hostess which was a pleasant surprise. The hostesses however, were less than friendly. We were not greeted at all, there were two girls at the desk and they just stood there until I eventually had to initiate the conversation and indicate that we had a reservation. Our waiter too, seemed uninterested in doing anything to enhance our dining experience. When I asked him what beers were available, his response was "anything in a bottle." Besides that, he was almost never at the table and when he was, it was as though we were making him"

"We were there for the Valentine's Day dinner. At $70 per person for a 3-course meal, it seemed over priced. The food was excellent. I had the lamb entre' (chop, rob and loin); best lamb I've ever had. The restaurant was very busy. My wife and I were seated next to each other instead of across from each other; odd. Service was slow. Our server was new and very friendly, tried hard but should not have been working by herself so soon. The table wasn't set properly when we sat down, no salt/pepper or napkins. Waited a long time for water. I hate to sound picky but our expectations not met."

"The overall restaurant is very nice. The view is amazing, hard to believe it is where it is. As far as the food goes, I thought it was pretty good but not worth the price. I usually compare fine steak houses to a Morton's or Ruth Chris but I'm sorry to say the republic of Texas came short. The dessert however was amazing. And service was great."
