Jorge's Tex Mex Cafe
Jorge's Tex Mex Cafe brings 50 years of Mexican and Texas family traditions to every recipe. Come enjoy the flavors of genuine FRESH made to order Tex Mex, such as our one of a kind queso, individually grilled crispy tacos, chile rellenos grilled in egg whites, hand made tamales, and made daily Jorge's famous SALSA. All this and breakfast plates all day! Also don't forget to try our made from scratch margaritas and mojitos. Last but not least..dessert..such as our delicious tres leches and creamy flan. We are located in One Arts Plaza, Dallas' newest and exciting addition to the Arts District. Not required but we recommend you make a note on the reservation if you are attending an Art's District Performance. We also reccommend making you're reservation at least 2 hours before showtime. "First time here and was disappointed, food was hit or miss, some items great, others just so so, Margarita was more ice than drink and service was slow, took forever for someone to take our drink order, was almost ready to walk, did improve some after that but still below average and they were not busy at all. Will not be making a return visit or recommending."

"The food was nothing special and the drinks were over-priced. I always judge my first visit to a Mexican restaurant by their Chili Relleno, and this one was nothing to write home about. Then add in $13 for a margarita that wasn't very good either, and I was not impressed. I won't be going back here when there are so many excellent Tex Mex restaurants around."

"Solid Mexican place. Had the Mole Enchiladas which were a little bland by my standards but still very good in thier own right and especially for Dallas. Salsa was super fresh and had a good kick. Drinks were quite fantastic according to my dining partners.
Looked like it would be a great place during cool evenings with a huge patio area. We left right before the real party got going but it was building. Must a be a real happening evening."

"The restaurant was quick to seat my small party but the hostess was a bit frazzled. Service was a bit slow although the restaurant was not packed. The server still worked to get us out in time to make a show. A great place to go before a show for drinks or dinner."

"My daughter and I had dinner at Jorge's before catching a play at the Dallas Theater Center. It is the perfect place to thave dinner before a show and is very conveniently located. The food was great, be sure to try to new mini street tacos! Our server Maria M. did a great job, she was attentive without being disturbing."

"good, quick, attentive service; appreciated being able to order, eat, and pay in 1.5 hours--in time to make a performance in the Arts District at 8. Also, very reasonable price wise, and a menu that was quite interesting and appealing--especially considering that prices were so reasonable. The more expensive restaurants in the district are out of reach for me, and the food was a very good value for the price. I'm going to be a regular at Jorge's when I go to upcoming performances of opera and Bruce Wood company."

"Jorge's was a massive disappointment. I booked the reservation to be able to conveniently go to a show at the Winspear afterward. I will not be going back to Jorge's. First, the waitress, Mercedes, was not attentive to our table at all. How hard is it to refill water and chips while your guests are waiting 20 minutes for drinks? The bar is completely inefficient/incompetent. Before it got busy, we waiting WAY too long for our drinks. After dinner was served we waited even LONGER. The first bottle of wine was sent back - the house Malbec. The house Pinot Noir was better. The food was just fair, not great, not memorable. But the service from the waitress and the bar were the worst. Never again."

"This was our second time to eat at Jorge's. Like the first time, we found the food to be of average quality: serviceable but unremarkable. I find the decor of the restaurant to be a bit cold, hard, and a little underdone.
The most notable part of our experience happened when we arrived at the hostess stand and were being seated. The hostess escorted us to the rear of the restaurant and showed us to a 2-top table that was clearly the worst seat in the house--the rear corner near the kitchen door. Worse yet, there was a private party going on in the rear dining area with lots of noise (about 25 people). I could have accepted this except for the fact that the restaurant was practically empty then, at 6:15 PM."

"Food was okay. Service was terrible. Went for lunch on a Sunday at 12:30 there where only 3 table occupied but it still took almost 10 minutes until our drink orders were taken. When our drinks arrived the waiter dropped them off and went back to the bar to watch soccer for another 10 minutes before taking out appetizer order. This disappearing act continued throughout the meal. The food was okay but we won't be going back due to the poor service."
