"I read a lot of reviews before going and was really excited about taking my mother and sister here for Mather's Day. It was a little pricy because I'm a college student but I wanted to do something really nice for them. The place was nice and so was our server even though he didn't come around much. But that was about it. The food was okay but not the best. They also gave extra small proptions which I wouldn't have minded if the food was amazing (which it wasn't). I tired a the guacamole which was ok but I've had better and I tired a lot of different things from my family's plates but nothing was extraordinary. I wouldn't really recommend this place but it seems like a lot of other like it."

"We were a party of eight and each one of us enjoyed Xochitl. We started off with great drinks at the bar, followed by "build your own guacamole," and fished with our main dishes which were delicious I had the spicy beef brisket tacos.... Yum!
The service was even better! We really fealt like they wanted us there! Being a larger party we were there for a while and they could not have been more accommodating. We will definately be back!

"I recently dined at Xochitl. The drinks were too strong for my liking, but the wonderful staff exchanged my drink for something else I preferred. I also order the spicy brisket tacos. Before ordering I asked the waiter how spicy they were and he said they were more sweet and sour. They were good, but way too spicy that I wasn't able to finish my meal. Above anything else the service there was fabulous and everyone was very nice. I would suggest Xochitl for happy hour drinks over a sit down meal."

"Since our anniversary is May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) which fell on Sunday this year, we were in search of a Mexican-themed restaurant to celebrate on Saturday night, May 4. We were lucky to find Xochitl. The food was excellent and the service was superb starting with the "choose your own ingredients gracamole" to the dense chocolate dessert. Also, coffee is served in a french press which makes 2.5 cups -- plenty for two people. Great ambience restaurant on Headhouse Square. I highly recommend Xochitl and we will definitely go back."

"The design your own guacamole and molcajete for two features on the menu are outstanding and the bartender makes a mean mojito too! It doesn't take too many people for it to get really loud really fast, so it's probably not a place to go if you are looking for a quiet conversation. Overall, really enjoyed our experience."

"Food and service were great! Especially loved the "build your own" guacamole and the tequila flight options. Husband loved the brisket tacos. My only complaint would be that my house margarita was mostly ice and I couldn't really taste the tequila. Would definitely go back to try something different, though! Worth a try!"

"We arrived early to our dinner reservations and grabbed drinks and guac at the bar, what a start to a delicious evening! Dinner was so tasty, an interesting and upscale take on Mexican cuisine. If I lived around the corner, I'd probably dine here every other week. If you need to try something other than Lolita's, definitely add this to your list. It's not a BYOB but the drinks can be reasonable, especially if you make happy hour."

"My girlfriend and I have eaten in many fine restaurants from New York to Maui. Having checked out a classic Mexican in NYC years ago with high praise from the Zagats ranks (Rosa Mexicano), we always wondered if we could ever find something outside of the city to compare.
We don't have to worry about that anymore!
Xochitl (pronounced "So-cheet") is all that and more. From an outstanding wine and tequila menu (the sangria is highly recommended!) to staples such as tacos, it's all there. But we went for the gusto this night and ordered customized guacamole and I opted for the half Pollo Fito (which takes three days of brining and preparation.) It was so wonderful, so tasty, right to the bone. If you love superb Mexican, check this place out!"

"I had the mushroom tamales - tasty but much too salty. My son did not like the chicken tacos - too fatty but my daughter liked her steak. My daughter was brought the wrong drink and when it was pointed out she was told to try what she had to see if she liked it - except red wine gives her headaches. It was difficult to get his attention and he forgot my side of black beans."

"Very good food, but we were stuck in the far-less-ambient basement, even though I had made a reservation for 5:30 pm and the dining room was empty when we arrived.Awkward server, who kept appologizing that it was taking so long for our meal to arrive....and then the warm chicken was plated with an ice cold cilantro cream sauce....which the server told me was supposed to be room temperature. I'm not sure who's room that would be, but it took away from the dish as I kept trying to avoid the cold sauce."

"My husband and I went and sat at the bar for happy hour recently for drinks and guacamole...AWESOME! Our bartender Kate was awesome! She was knowledgeable and friendly. She talked to us about their infusions, asked about our likes and dislikes before suggesting drinks. She also told us about this taco dinner they do Sunday through Thursday...$28 for 2 people for dinner. We are definitely going back to try it! It gets crowded at night but definitely an awesome spot for happy hour after work without too much noise. Perfect place to unwind.
The customizable guac is delish, and the red salsa is fabulous. Paired with the warm chips, this place can't be beat for Mexican in Society Hill!"

"My girlfriends and I went for restaurant. It is a lot of food, so you definitely get your moneys worth. The waiter was very immature, forgetful, and unprofessional which made us uncomfortable. "My boyfriend and I went here for Restaurant week. This place was AMAZING; from the first course of make your own Guac down to dessert. Our server was very tentative even though the place was packed. Everything she reccommended was great also. I am not a big drinker but she talked each of us into the margaritas... and BOY were they strong- They don't consider themselves a tequila bar for nothing that is sure. We will definitely be back there soon."

"We went for Restaurant Week and, unlike many places, the menu was diverse and wasn't crafted to try to get you to eat from the regular menu. The food was delicious - great flavor, wonderful variety of choices. And the drinks were creative and fun... and potent! The service could not have been nicer - the waitstaff was funny and accommodating. We actually arrived about 20 minutes after our reservation and they were jammed... and we were fully prepared to go somewhere else or eat at the bar. But they went above and beyond and found a table... and made it feel like it was no trouble to them at all. I can't say enough great things..."

Camarones were okay but lacked spice, despite server emphasizing the spiciness of the dish. Camarones included interesting salad with bannanas and anchovies that balanced well. "We had a group of 12 for restaurant week and everyone loved it! The food was awesome and the service was amazing! We were put downstairs in what felt like our own private room which was great for our young lowd group!"

"It seemed like anytime we needed something cleaned of our table he was no here to be found. Te only time he came around was to ask if everything was okay while we had a mouthful of food!! Te other staff did more for us than our actual waiter!!"

"In case you missed it, former Xochitl Chef Dionicio Jimenez and his inventive Nuevo Mexican cuisine are gone. Xochitl is now a typical neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The food was well prepared and we enjoyed the cozy downstairs space (which seemed quieter than upstairs near the bar). However, the service was spotty (getting extra utensils or plates for portion sharing was especially problematic) and the food was nothing special. If you live in the neighborhood it is nice for a night out, but we wouldn't recommend that anyone travel for this restaurant."

"Tis place was lackluster and my entire party left underwhelmed and rather hungry. We decided to try Xochitil for Restaurant Week which was probably our first mistake b/c they only offered only the RW menu and no other options. The tortilla soup was bland and tasted like dish water. The flatbread was actually really good and was the only reason Im giving it a fair rating..Our entrees were all piled high with cilantro(probably to hide the bland flavoring again.) The chicken dish was dry and the masa cake my friend had was so big and dry he had to get a box to take it home( and not to eat it but avoid being rude that he only had like 3 bites to only toss it out when we left.) I won't even get into desserts."

"For a Mexican restaurant, the food was very bland. Although we got a lot of food on the restaurant week menu, it wasn't that great. And after a drink tax and tip it was more like $55/person. I could of spent a third of that for authentic and flavorful meals in the numerous Mexican restaurants in Bucks county."

"Food wasn't bad just wasn't great for the price, definitely not authentic Mexican. The drinks we paid $10 a piece for tasted like there were no alcohol in them. Our waiter wasn't too responsive and was very strange. I definitely would not return."

"I love Xochitl. We went for restaurant week and were not disappointed.
The first course is create-your-own guacamole, which they make to order. For the second course, I ordered the Huarache de Hongos, which is a flat bread with mushrooms and cheese. It's a huge portion and delicious. My date got the Empanadas, which were also really good. For our main courses, I got the Braised Short Rib and he got the Pollo Relleno. The short rib was absolutely heavenly - tender and flavorful. I usually consider chicken to be a safe dish, but his chicken was amazing. For dessert, we both got the Chocolate Tres Leches Cake and there was nothing left.
The servers were each extremely friendly and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend the margaritas!"

"My husband and I went here for RW with our neighbors and were pleasently surprised. The quality of food definitely did not suffer bc of RW, as we found many places did. The margaritas are top notch, artfully created and truly to be savored (get the chocolate and berries, incredible). Guacamole and salsa were hailed by all as the best we had ever had. Food portions for the rest of the courses were large and delicious. We would definitely go back and already recommended it to friends. Great Mexican, great service, fun atmosphere!"

"Food was good. I loved their Guacamole and chips. There cocktail menu was good, my wife loved the margaritas.
My entree was a little bland, but was still good, and I definitely want to try some of their other entree's.
The overall look of the restaurant was really nice. The biggest problem we had was with our waiter, he was definitely paying more attention to the larger groups than to us. We sat for 15 minutes with empty glasses (Beer, and Margarita), and he did not once bring out our food, it was always done by someone else. He missed out on some tip from us. Although, the hostess who also was busing tables was really friendly.

"Service was exceptional, and the manager/owner came over several times to check on our party. He was also very helpful and accommodating when answering questions regarding gluten-free dishes. Food is flavorful (great if you want to try something new), and the portions were more than enough. Can't wait to go back!"
