"There were eight of us who gathered at Rick's Café Boatyard to celebrate Mother's Day. The facility is beautiful, we had an awesome view of Eagle Creek Reservoir and the servers were very knowledgeable about the menu. The food, as always, was excellent! This was our second time celebrating Mother's Day at Rick's Café Boatyard!
We also enjoy watching the sail boats while having a leisure lunch on the patio and spending romantic evening dinners on the patio watching the sunset.

"Rick's has been a family favorite for the past 8 years. It is great for family and also excellent for a date night dinner for just the two of us. We frequent this establish on many occasions. I would venture to say we eat at Ricks at least 35-40 times a year."

"My husband and I decided to sit outside on the deck. Well apparently they are doing construction because it was so dark I had to use my cell phone to read the menu. I couldn't even see what I was eating. On top of that there were some children running and screaming
which was a little nerve wrecking but the view was gorgeous & our waitresses was wonderful. All in all Id try it again but definitely eat inside next time lol"

"My wife and I shared a romatic candle light dinner on the beautiful Eagle Creek Resvior for our recent 5th wedding anniversary. Our view under the moonlight was very calming and peaceful. The noise was tolerable around us but we didn't even notice we were so into the view, the food, and the experience. We can't wait to go again!!! Next time we may even take the chikdren for lunch so they can watch the boats."

"The seafood was definitely good! This was my first time here, and I'd like to come back to try more. The only reason I gave 4 stars is b/c I thought the mashed potatoes were gross. They were hard and not very flavorful. But my jumbo shrimp were very jumbo, and delicious!"

"Ricks used to be a guaranteed positive experience. I actually served there 5 years ago. My recent dining experience was subpar to what I knew Ricks to be while employed there. The service was lackluster and nonexistent. Main dishes came out cold. After notifying my server of the problem she removed both of our dishes, only to be returned shortly thereafter by yet another food runner. The sides were obviously fingered by kitchen staff, and the dishes had been blasted in a microwave. You would expect better in regards to cold seafood at this price. At least return a plate with fresh hot sides. But that was not the case, even the lemons had been microwaved. The server acted as if we were a problem. Valet couldn't even drive manual."

"This place is a little more expensive than I really think it deserves, but I do enjoy going on special occasion. The food is pretty great. It never disappoints.

"This visit was for my retirement party. Everything was superb! It was really noisy but there was everything from a bridal party upstairs, to, prom guests dining, bachelorette party, birthday party, and families celebrating mother's day early. You name it, it was happening at Rick's but the service kicked it up a notch & kept on it! Thanks to our waitress that evening, she was attentive to every need & your valet team too.
Excellent Job! We know the noise is not the norm & will definitely be back. This place will always be SPECIAL to us as it is also where my husband proposed 3 1/2 years ago! Our anniversary is coming up 6/26 too so we'll be celebrating alone next time to bring back some very fond memories!"

"Our family visited Rick's for Mother's Day...we had reservations and were seated at a nice, large indoor table (too cool for deck dining) with a view of Eagle Creek reservoir promptly at our reserved time. Despite the VERY crowded dining area; our server arrived promptly and we had our drinks and food very timely. The quality of the food was excellent; I had blackened scallops which were expertly cooked, tender/moist and flavorful without being overdone. The only downfall was the vegetable accompaniment; it was a single stalk of broccoli which was undercooked. Overall, our party agreed that the main entrees and sides were delicious. It was a very noisy atmosphere, but I would owe that to the resulting Mother's Day crowd. Great selection!"

"Mistakenly seated. Returned to lobby to wait. Two different servers introduced themselves as our servers. Not immediately told that the entree that I ordered was not available "Salmon steamer". Others at our table already had their food when I got to order something else. The manager thought I had trouble with my second order "Oysters Rockefeller" and he apologized that they were not available. I was eating them when he told me this, so it was rather comical. He did offer a free dessert for my trouble, which I accepted - the Key Lime pie. Both the Oysters Rockefeller and the Key Lime pie were quite good. I also had the black bean soup which was finely pureed. I'm used to seeing whole black beans in this type of soup, but it did taste good."

"We spent about 3.5 hours at our table. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and a crazy 1 lb chocolate cake for desert. Everything was enjoyable until our party of 4 bill came to $240. We did earn it though. I highly recommend this place. The menu is broad, and you can go expensive or moderate depending on what you pick."

"Very good seafood in the Midwest. Having lived in Maryland several years ago, it brought back memories for my mom. I took her there for Mother's Day and highly recommend it. Not a fan of looking at the servers legs in shorts but it fits with the seaside atmosphere I guess. Hope they get to wear long pants in the winter! The catfish I had was seasoned perfectly."

"We love Rick's. Ever since we were in Indianapolis for the Bichon Frise National Specialty several years ago. One of our dear friends won Best in Show, and about 20 of us went out to celebrate. They impressed us all so much then, that we go back every time we are in Indianapolis. Enjoy it every time. This year we brought new people, who will now come back the next time they are in town. We recommend Rick's to everyone...hmmm do I feel a commission coming on?"

"The location, the view, the layout of the restaurant was all superb. The martini's were delish! We got the sampler appetizer, the food was crisp and didn't taste like old grease so that was a great start for the evening.The calamari was the thick cut, lightly breaded kind and the chicken cordon bleu sticks were my son's favorite. The king crab legs tasted fresh and were steaming hot, but my salmon came out cold. Servers, hostesses and bartenders were unfriendly, unprofessional and bored with their work. Even though we had two servers (one was in training) they couldn't answer any questions without checking with someone else and they had to ask for our orders twice. I have had better, happier servers at Joe's Crab Shack or Red Lobster."

"We have eaten at Ricks several times, the food is always good. Service lacked in that my soup hit the table about 30 seconds before my meal . Other than that it was good. I made a note under special notes on the reservation that it was my wife's birthday. No mention was made of it so not sure why that section is in the reservation web page. We did get full on very good food. The steak was cooked to perfection and extremely tender. We will go back We do really like the restaurant"

"First off food was great and server "Amber" was great. Young black gentleman opened door when I was leaving which was nice. Arriving was a little frustrating with no valet had to park in back of lot which is no big deal. I was carrying baby, presents, and a diaper bag. It was obviously to long of a walk for the DB parked in motorcycle parking with his 2004 Cadillac XLR convertible with $500 wheels on it. Sweet ride #not there was another OLd escalade parked there when I left. Sweet ride bro #not also no one opened doors on arrival or hurried to help or greet but good experience overall. Just tips."

"It was nice, we went with kids for sunday brunch, not sure that was a good idea. They were fine with the kids but I think we would have had a better time with just adults. The view is nice the food was good. I had the stuffed french toast & tasted as good as the menu made it sound. It was moderatly priced."

"I just happened to find Rick's online when I was searching for a nice place to eat before my fraternity's formal. Couldn't have asked for better. The service was fantastic, thanks to our incredible waitress. Everyone in my party praised the restaurant and fully intends to go back in the future. It was some of the best seafood I've had in a while, living in Indiana. The lively atmosphere kept us in high spirits, but wasn't so loud that we were unable to hear the waitress or people at an opposite end of the table. I owe a thanks to Rick's for making me look great in the eyes of my friends who were in the group."
