"Dined with 2other couples before a concert at the Amphitheatre. Food was wonderful...service was prompt , which was important since we were on a tight schedule. Our out-of-town friends were first time diners at Raintree and were pleased with food, ambience, and service. We hadn't dined at Raintree in some time and were pleased we chose them this time."

"I was very disappointed in my dinner here. The service was horrible and ruined our night. We drove 2hrs to St Augustine to spend day in St. Augustine for Mother's Day. A friend recommended Raintree for dinner. Our waiter was horrible about taking orders in timely manner and returning to check on us. It took 75min for our food to arrive. . The food was just ok for the price. I don't usually complain but my 10year old told me I should. On way out the manager was standing by the door so I shared our experience with him. All he said was "I'm sorry". Well I'm sorry too that I spent $100 and 2hours of my time at your restaurant. The best thing about this place is the ambience."

"We've passed this restaurant many times and always wanted to try it. We figured that Mothers Day would be a great opportunity. Instead of the typical brunch, we targeted dinner. I made reservations on OpenTable. Nice, quick and easy! We got a great table outdoors in one of the gazebos. The family really liked that.
Our waitress could have been more friendly. She wasn't a bad waitress. She did a good job with food and drinks. But this was Mothers Day. I expected a nice warm friendly hello and a happy M.D. to my wife but didn't get it.
The restaurant had a special menu. I kind of wish their regular menu was available but I understand. We all had different things and the food was done well.
Yes, I would go back."

"My family and have been in Florida a short while. Frankly the food in North Florida has been disappointing overall in our experience. That is until we ate at the Raintree Restaurant. My wife, adult daughter and I had the best meal. Everything from the wine list to the entrees and very good desserts were exceptional. The service was prompt and courteous. The price is high but we got what we paid for."

"I had high expectations of this restaurant because it is so lovely. Our reservations were early (6pm) on a Sunday evening so there were many open tables. We asked to be seated by the window and were told that we could only be seated at a table for two and none were available by the window. Service was slow, the waiter may have just had an off night but was very unengaged, bored. The food was not memorable. The filet needed A-1 to add flavor, the bread pudding was dry, it needed a sauce...bourbon...anglaise...something! This restaurant could be so much better, some foodie passion/management would do the trick."

"First, and recent, visit to Raintree was fair and nothing more. The Continental Sunday Breakfast bar consisted of salads (probably made the night before), fruit (probably prepped night before), and breads and cakes (processed foods, nothing fresh). The lobster bisque was good. I ordered the Lobster/Mushroom Crepe which was lukewarm. The crepe appeared as if it, too, could have made days before. Husband ordered the Filet which was nothing special in his opinion. Our server was a young man who was attentive and professional. Oh...the place was pretty empty (wonder why;) and the male host put us right next to a table with a rambunctious child. The child was away when we were seated."

"Picked because wanted more than the resaurant that caters to the vacationers since it was my husbands birthday.
The atmosphere was nice and we did sit inside, so not as noisy as outside on deck. Prompt with seating, inside nicely furnished, . I ordered meat well done and it was definitly not well done,maybe medium. I did tell the waitress and she did give us free dessert which was nice to compensate for the meat. next time would probably get a different entree.

"We were celebrating a friend's 50th birthday with brunch at the Raintree. We sat outside in the gazebo and had a WONDERFUL time. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic - he was extremely attentive, funny and very personable. He made the brunch even that much better for us. The food was wonderful - there was a very good selection off the brunch tables (something for everyone - and everything for our group)! :) and the taste was terrific! We will definitely be coming back (from Jacksonville) to try other dining experiences at this restaurant"

"It was dusk, the outside lighting and landscape was luminous and inviting. If the weather conditions permitted, we would have eaten dinner outside. Such a charming place. The staff was friendly and courteous. We saw a window with a view. The staff was very accommodating, no problem changing tables. My husband had his first beef wellington and I baked tilapia. Since this was the first beef wellington...it will be the benchmark for more to come. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance of the restaurant. We even struck up a conversation with another couple visiting the area. Therefore, great company to boot!"

"This was our second visit and it was as good as the first time we went. Delicious prime rib, salads and great wine choice. The waitress was wonderful, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We can't wait to go back. Great spot for families."

"I made reservations via the internet and requested porch only seating. When we arrived they did not have any porch seating available. We traveled 2 hours so did stay and ate inside. If that ever happens again we would leave.

"For the last twenty years I've been visiting the Raintree whenever I'm in St. Augustine. It's actually my favorite restaurant...it's so quaint and elegant at the same time. The food is amazing and the service is always the best. I hope they're around for at least another twenty years!"

"Our waiter had too many tables to give us decent service. While opening our wine he turned around to talk to another table. Waited forever to get even a glass of water because he was so busy. Nothing wrong with the food, just very much along the lines of mid level catering food. My beef wellington had a taste of pate on it, seriously less than 1/2 a teaspoon. The puff pastry was pretty soggy all over not flakey. He assured us everything was made in house. No way the gel like sauce around my wellington was homemade. During dessert we were reassured all but the icecream was made in house. Mine arrived w/packaged cookies around ice cream disguised in chocolate sauce. Good thing they are in a tourist town. Way overpriced for quality."

"We usually give places the 3 strikes rule, so we'll go at least one more time. The venue is charming, but I was not happy with the service or the food. Our waitress was not attentive and poured iced tea all over the floor (splashed on me) while trying to fill my glass. She never apologized. We were there for the Sunday Brunch. The menu was intriguing, but the food a bust. I had the Croque Monsieur. They presented me with a very unappetizing open ham and cheese sandwich on toast so hard and dry, it was inedible. It also had what was probably an attempt at bechamel sauce, which had no flavor, was grainy, and probably from an envelope. After a few bites, I sent it back. My mother had the hot open roast beef sandwich. She enjoyed her"

"I almost opted for another restaurant because of the 15% gratuity automatically added which I find distasteful, as well as a bump in prices on weekends which smacks of greed, but am plsd we came. This was a really good meal- My shrimp & lobster pasta was excellent, my wife found her duckling to be nicely prepared. We both ordered apps which were good {soup, mac and cheeze} but certainly not necessary given the size of the entres. The noise level was not bad considering it was pretty busy. Our server was friendly and efficient. The dining area was quite nice. The quality of food would bring me back, tho the afformentioned objections would certainly point me elsewhere."

"We went to Raintree for my wife's birthday while on vacation in St. Augustine and could not have been more pleased. The location is stunning, the food was delicious, and the service was some of the best we have ever received while dining. I highly recommend Raintree to anyone looking for a romantic night out in St. Augustine. And for you cost conscious diners, find one of the local tourist magazines located all over town and there is a 10% off coupon inside. The prices are very reasonable, but everyone enjoys saving money."

"When we arrived for our 8 pm reservation, we were given seating that met the one requirement I had noted in advance -- avoiding steps. (There are many subdivisions and levels in this old house.) After a few minutes, however, we asked for another table, because there were several large tables of the young and the raucous nearby. The hostess understood our request for quiet, moved us directly to a peaceful space, with no fuss."
