"I made reservations to TK. We walked in about 10 minutes late and they sat us immediately. The seating was perfect. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was excellent. Will definitely visit again."

"It's been a constant thing where we wait and wait for the food during lunch. The restaurant has to understand that Monday-Friday working professionals have 1 hour for lunch. They can't hold up production. We asked for the lunches to go and when we got the to go bags, they mixed mine with another person from the table. It stunk because we work in different companies so couldn't switch easily. The only benefit was that the whole lunch was comped. We are not going to make this a lunch location in the future. Going to try somewhere else."

"I wasn't sure if I would enjoy eating so early due to attending a 7:30 pm show. The menu gave me delicious options to nibble on while my husband went full steam ahead with an appetizer and entree. I had the fiddelheads in brown butter, a watercress salad and the grilled filet tips with tater tot appetizer. My husband devoured the shrimp roll appetizer and had a pork shank "as big as his head" and ate every bite. Our waiter was truly a professional; not just summer help. The only downside was that it was beautiful Friday night and I think the restaurant was still getting used to the outdoor patio being open so the wait for drinks was excessive but recognized and acknowledged by our waiter and others. First time there and we'll be back."

"We frequently dine at TK so the vibrant bar scene and resultant noise is not problem if you reserve a booth in the back of the restaurant. Despite the crowds at the bar, my husband was disappointed that Chivas was not available,and the scotch and water he ordered was very weak. The short ribs, however,did not disappoint! The pear salad did! There were bits of slimy greens on the plate and the pears were very soft and flavorless. The succulent scallop entree was very good. We shared a banana split for dessert. It's a lot of dessert for one and is meant to be shared."

"Well first of all the food was delicious. I love food and I've been to so many places in Hartford that I wanted to go somewhere new that had a good reputation. I decided to take my boyfriend out for his birthday dinner and we both loved the food and the presentation. We each enjoyed a glass of wine from the extensive wine list and had plenty of appetite to enjoy a delicious crab cake appetizer, our individual entrees, and peanut butter mousse cake for dessert. The only qualm I can write about is the loud atmosphere. I found I had to lean forward to carry a conversation with my boyfriend without shouting. Overall it was a great experience, but with the amount you pay for your food it's a good place to splurge for special occasions."

"I've been hear before and always enjoyed the food, service, etc. but this trip made me rate it lower. Lunch service initially was quick. We elected to skip dessert but the waitress brout over menus and we thought, why not. We all got gelato or sorbet and it came out 15 minutes after we ordered it and it was all melted. When we asked to rectify it the waitress said she would need to talk to her manager. My question, Why? It was soup at the time we got it. We needed to wait another 10 minutes and it was still pretty soft and melted. We all said we should have skipped dessert. I suggest you do the same. FYI we had a party of 8 and come quite frequently so this was a disappointing visit."

"The appetizers were great.We had the lettuce cups, pork buns, tuna nori, filet, and curried noodles. They were all super tasty. The salads(pear and caesar) were pretty good too especially the pear salad. We also got 2 stone pies. They're like a thin pizza. We weren't impressed with these. They didn't have a ton of flavor. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Would definitely go back."

"My friend and I attended the Big East Tournament in Harford and we selected Trumbull Kitchen for the third year in a row. We have a wonderful time and couldn't be happier with the food, drinks, and waitstaff. The restaurant is very accommodating to our need for a quick (not rushed) meal so we can return for the evening games. I always recommend Trumbull Kitchen to friends for a good time and great food."

"Trumbull Kitchen has the best food in Hartford. On occasion, I have been very disappointed upon reading the menu, thinking that it is too limited, but I have never been disappointed by whatever I order. This visit I started with the tuna noiri. I could have made a meal out of the 8 pieces. With a dob of wasabi and fresh ginger, this was an outstanding start. For my entrée, I went with the herb crusted chicken which was so tender and perfectly seasoned. And to wash it all down, the theEco Valley Pinot Noir (anyone who says you can't drink rwd with white meat spends too much time reading and not enough time testing). A perfect meal at my new favorite Hartford restaurant!"

"We have eaten at Trumbull Kitchen many times, most recently for the Taste of Hartford. The menu at thecTaste was very interesting and varied and the food was exceptional. This visit was avgreat disappointment. The place was very load, possibly because it was after the St Patrick's Day Parade. The real complaint, however, was the menu and the food. TK used to have a menu that had more variety and it was possible to order several small plates and put together a tasty meal. It seems that the menu has been scaled back and the menu is more like what you get at the upscale pubs in the area.

"When in town for a trial recently I discovered this Downtown Hartford eatery and was THANKFUL beyond belief. Food options are getting scarce in this area and for those seeking something of quality it's critical that due diligence is done. This place won't disappoint so give it a shot and you'll see. The only thing I wasn't so excited about was the lack of daily changeover in menu specials. They remained the same all week long."

"The food was good but service was poor. The waiter was rude when I asked his name. I didn't hear him due to the surrounding noise apologized to him and when asked to repeat he rolled his eyes.. "I went with a group of six people before an 8:00 show. We were seated upstairs which made for a quieter than usual experience. We had a number of dinner errors, not sure if it was the waiter or the kitchen. A salad was delivered without any dressing. The three hanger steaks which were ordered on the specials menu were brought without the French fries. One steak ordered medium well came as wmedium rare and had to be sent back. The waiter also didn't bring a drink that was ordered. It could have been because we were upstairs, or not. The waiter was attentive, although busy. The food we did get was delicious, and we got to our show on time. The manager gave us a discount on the bill for the errors."

"Solid evening pre-theater - got in quickly, server asked if we had any plans he needed to be aware of. Service was good - although in a couple of spots he got busy and forgot lemons and new silverware which they had take for example. Food quality solid - wahoo was excellent as a special. Definitely the trendy spot with higher priced drinks/wine."

"It a fun place to go - service is a bit inconsistent. Sometime greta and sometimes - "where are they"? I have used OpenTable twice in the lastt week and I don't sense they have a table ready, as both time I had to wait as they set one up, and last time the receptionist was folding napkin and it was a waiter who got me a table.
I always enjoy the food but find the bread basket bland and the mac and cheese was presented with pasta more al dente than I expected. Pulled Pork tasty but bread did not match sandwich; too sweet and soft. Same roll as the burger - does not make sense that it would pair well with both meals. Can we offer a small salad to replace deep fried food sides?"

"Always a most enjoyable experience at TK. They did fail to bring my friend's fries, but management was very apologetic and quick to extend the offer to cover her dessert cost. Dinner choices, salmon and pork shank were well prepared. Staff and management were most congenial and the atmosphere was electric due to all the UCONN fans. We met some new folks and shared after dinner drinks and great conversation.
We're headed back soon!"

"Fantastic meal, great vibe, perfect place for dinner before a UConn game at XL center which is a 1 minute walk away. Valet parking, friendly service, no rush. Sample lamb lentil soup - outstanding. Caesar salad just ok. Pad Thai with chicken was superb with the right amount of spice, vegetables not overcooked, delicious. Sampled the meatloaf entree - perfectly cooked. Too full for dessert. Nice selection of teas. Would eat here again in a minute."

"We had the Hangar Steak and the Seafood Pad Thai, both recommended by the waiter but already in our minds from reading the menu online. The hangar steak was fantastic. the meat was tender and perfectly cooked to medium as requested. The Asian inspired sauce and mushrooms were an excellent addition, always great with steak. The Pad Thai was hot enough to clear your sinuses but not enough to make you feel like you were on a game show. The atmosphere was a little night life and noisy. All around an excellent experience."

"Trumbull Kitchen, one of the several Max Group restaurants, is a nice gem in downtown Hartford. Valet parking makes for easy curbside access to the eatery. The menu is moderately priced, the staff is quick and friendly and the food is very good. It's a vibrant, cheerful restaurant devoid of attitude, with an ambiance that is both eclectic and romantic. Not one of the most popular of the Max group restaurants but definitely the one with the least attitude and the most affordable prices."
