"Our steak was exactly as described....charred at extremely high temperature so the outside has that crisp, charred taste and texture, yet the inside was succulently done as requested. A better steak can be found nowhere! Side dishes are huge, so plan on splitting with fellow diner(s). Wait staff was professional and friendly. Highly recommended."

"As visitors to Myrtle Beach, we are always pleased to find restaurants featuring great food and great service. New York Prime Steakhouse did not disappoint. We experienced a very fair measure of booze in cocktails (CC Manhattan, JW Black on rocks), jumbo lump crabmeat to die for, and steaks cooked to perfection (medium rare filet and rib eye) that nearly melted in our mouths. There was an excellent selection of wines and wines by the glass, and the Ferrari Carano cabernet sauvignon was a great choice with our steaks.

"I have yet to go to NY Prime and have a bad/mediocre meal. Everything is always cooked to perfection. We took our kids this time for the first time and they loved it (even our 8 year old chicken tender eater). They were very friendly and took care of us as if we had 5 adults at the table. Have been here many times with our friends and always have a good time."

style with a nice char on the outside but sooooo tender. I like mine medium rare and it was perfect. Sides are large and meant
to share as are the salads. A few more vegetable sides would be nice, potatoes, spinach and asparagus are the choices.

"our waiter brought us the wrong bottle of wine. we ordered a 2008 vintage and he brought us a 2010. while the price was the same, i still expect to receive the item i ordered. when we addressed this with the waiter, his response was "well, yeah, but they're the same price and they're right next to each other on the shelf." um, that's not an appropriate response. there was no attempt to "make good" or even rectify this by bringing us the proper bottle. very disappointed in the service overall and the food was only OK. not good enough to make up for the service."

"Food and service fantastic. Great for special occasions if you can get a table more than 2 feet from each other. Have been here numerous times but last 3 visits have been seated at a small table between two tables where any private conversation is impossible. Asked to be reseated but told no. Several minutes later another couple were seated at a table for four in a private area..then two men came in and were seated at a table for four at a private table. Will not return as a couple, as a group is fine."

"Our cuts of beef were done perfectly. The sides and appetizer were also excellent. Quite expensive. Service was excellent until we got our entrees, then didn't see our waiter again for 45 minutes. We would have liked to have the chocolate cake for dessert (it looked FANTASTIC), however it only comes in one size --big enough for 6 people and priced at $25 per serving."

"Have dined here many times and usually walked away full and happy. This time there was a slight snag. Despite being the first diners of the evening, steaks arrived over cooked - not the medium well that was requested. Waiter concurred with our assessment and the plates were immediately removed. The sides that had arrived were replaced with new hot French fries and onion rings along with steaks cooked to perfection. You can count on a restaurant of this caliber to correct any problem quickly and efficiently.
Will return without a doubt."

Waiter was attentive but much too stuffy and lacked personality. Fumes from cigar and cigarette smokers at the bar drifted to the dining area. "We have a place at Cherry Grove and always make sure we eat at New York Prime when we come down. The food is great and the service compliments the food and atmosphere. My Wife and I appreciate the fact that they make accommodations and ventilate for Smokers and Non Smokers rather than just ignoring the Smokers as so many Restaurants have done down there. We recommend New York Prime to anyone wanting to treat themselves to a special meal. When you leave there you can't wait until you can come back and enjoy it all again. I have eaten all over the world and this Restaurant stands up to any I have eaten at."

"This is by far our favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach! It is the capstone rcperience of our vacation. It's pricey, but worth it! Absolutely the best steak I've ever enjoyed! Service is outstanding, unfortunately, a large group was seated in our area and our waiter's attention was realigned. The rest of the serve team was amazing! The music was light jazz and perfect for the ambiance!"

"Group of 8 golfers. Typical decor for NY steakhouse. Very well staffed. Prices reflect the attention the waiter is able to provide. Enjoyable experience. After oysters and beer for a couple days in a row, this was our "big night out" and we had an excellent experience. Make plans in advance though as this is not a really big restaurant and they do not crowd it to the rafters. Mostly groups of male golfers with large table of 8 or so. Or bill was $120 each but we drank a good deal of wine."

"The overall experience was good. This is the second year I brought a group of 12 and we had a problem with our food at the table. One of my party had to send back his dinner 3 times! For them to get it right. At a place were you pay $60 for a peice of meat that is unacceptable.
We will be looking for a new place to dine next year. they did not even comp us anything for their issues! And our bill was over $1600.00.
Very disapointed.

"An annual favorite for large business group dinners. Highly recommend the seafood appetizer platter for the whole table (shrimp, stuffed shrimp, lump crab meat, oysters on the half shell, oyster rockefeller). You can share a salad between 3 people and appetizers are plentiful. The potato wedge side was more than expected - you only need to order 1! Plates come out hot from the oven, so your meal stays warm as you eat. Save room for dessert - apple walnut & chocolate chip cookie are top notch."

"New York Prime is exceptional, service outstanding. This is a high end place. Filet to perfection Charred just right. The sauces, and dressings where amazing. Dressing Brooklyn French, Blue Cheese were beyond good. Bernaise was freshly made to order.
The mash potato cheese was the best comfort food.
We called 15 minutes prior making this reservation and had mentioned it was a special occasion.
We were shocked to see that when we were seated, our table had been beautifully decorated, a personal card to us had already been set up.
Very impressive. The host was courteous and a true gentleman.

"If a diner wants a Prime steak, lobster, crab, exotic and fresh salads, served in the traditional environment of a true steak house, this is the best place in all of America. Seriously, it may apper a bit pricey, but nothing is overlooked. The food quality is better than anything New York, Chicago or Los Angeles offers. On top of that, the service is exceptional. Every server is a true professional. Even the backup staff bussing and assisting in dividing portions fits into the entire experience like a Swiss watch. I worked in high end restaurants years ago and am very hard to please. These folks blow the doors off any "rated best Steak House". No pushy up sell, and they don't look for high tickets, they just want every diner to be amazed."

"The food was very good. Steak cooked to perfection. I had booked our dinner well in advance (approx one month) and requested a good table location (booth preferred). This request was not honored (or even acknowledged). For the cost of the dinner ($200) my expectations for the food was met however the host upon arrival was quite unfriendly and almost dismissive. I would have expected a restaurant of that level to have a much more professional reception out of town patrons. Specifically to those patrons who had gone out of there way to book dinner reservations well in advance. Instead we felt like we were treated like drop in customers who were seated by the entrance. The food however made up for the hosts who dropped the ball."
