"This is the kind of restaurant where you know they'll take care of you. I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary and the staff, food, and atmosphere were incredible! Our waiter, Joeseph, went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He checked up on us, but not in an overbearing way. The only hiccup in the service was when my boyfriend didn't get enough soup (they pour it at your table). The backwaiter promised to get him more, but the guy never returned. But other than that, it was wonderful!!!!"

"I am a big food and wine person and appreciate top service. This restaurant had everything you could ask for. Each course was spaced perfectly and served with perfection. I went here for my 5th anniversary with my wife and the entire experience was outstanding. Each course was prepared and presented perfectly and was delicious. Some abstract combinations like apple tart and goat cheese ice cream was to die for. Although it is very expensive I highly suggest that anyone with a love for food must go frequent this restaurant."

"Maybe I don't have the "sophisticated" palette required for French cuisine, but I thought that the food was worth about 1/2 as much as I paid for it. 9 dollars for a mushroom soup? 40 bucks for lamb? It was all pretty good, but like I said, not nearly good enough for the price. My girlfriend got the beef tenderloin and asked for it medium, but when it came out it was definitely medium rare or just rare. She later told me she could taste the blood. When the waiter (who was great by the way...incredible service, my only complaint is the food), offered to take it back and have them cook it some more, my girlfriend reluctantly let them. The tenderloin came back out brown and tough. I don't care if the chef was offended, that's inexcusable"

"Everything was outstanding from beginning to end. We were celebrating our anniversary and the manager brought us 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. The waitress was lovely and had great recommendations. We started with the lobster bisque, scallops, and oysters and all were very delicious. Our entrees were the lamb diablo which my husband loved, and I had the swordfish, also very delicious. We finished with the chocolate molten cake which was to die for. The service was excellent and the dining was leisurely. We had a wonderful evening."

"Being greeted by name as we entered was a pleasant surprise. Isaac, or server, was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed to know when to appear. His wine suggestions were "on the mark". The menu is eclectic. Our selections of duck and baked halibut (that night's special) were flavorful and perfectly prepared. A chocolate soufflé and cappuccinos finished everything off with just the right touch. We will return."

"We were celebrating my partners's Birthday, and the staff at Zebra went all out to make it an outstanding evening. Two glasses of Prosecco were waiting on the table for us, as we were being seated...and the evening just got better and better after that. Our food, the wine, the impeccable service, and the beautiful Birthday dessert they served her, all worked in harmony to make her feel very special.
We have always loved dining at Zebra. They set the bar incredibly high in regards to delicious food and outstanding service, and they never disappoint."

"This restaurant remains one of our favorites in Charlotte. We have used their catering services several times in the past for guest numbers 40+. The owner is an absolutely wonderful personand never hesitates to assist in creating a pleasant atmosphere at the restaurant. The food is excellent, always well prepared and served by a wonderful wait staff. Do not miss an opportunity to try this restaurant - you will be gald you did and wonder why it took so long to begin to enjoy this experience - regularly. Recommended without any hesitancy. If you want to create special memories and want a special place to celebrate cherished moments don't hesitate to enjoy. On a scale of 1-10, it's clearly a 15!"

"This was my fourth lunch at Zebra and every visit has been lovely with great food and service. I am impressed with the consistency of the food. The ambiance is perfect for quiet discussions but is not stuffy or pretentious. The waiter does not rush the meal but if we had been on a lunch break we would have had plenty of time to eat as the food is served promptly and nice and hot. Martinis were mixed perfectly. Wine pours were sufficient. The dessert souffle looked excellent at other tables but I have not tried it personally."

"It is time for Jim and his crew to re-appraise what they are trying to be. Frankly, they are no longer the Zebra of past days! The menu hasn't changed for months (probably at least six), and their "specials" now routinely consist of two fish dishes. There is now (almost always) the obligatory noisy group of 20 in the back room who get the lion's share of the service and attention. We were there for a quiet evening (and it was pretty quiet) and great food (not so!). We had a half bottle of Veuve Cliquot, salad and main course, and it cost more than $160, excluding tip -- I wouldn't have minded, but the menu was ordinary, the service enthusiastic but slow (new staff), nobody in charge....this is no longer our go-to destination!"

"Even though I enjoyed my meal and experience at this top ranked restaurant. I expected perfection based on the rating and price. For the price, I was left a bit wanting. Don't get me wrong, it is a lovely dining experience but I believe at the prices things should be at perfection. Some of the food came out cold but was replaced with hot. The check was wrong but then corrected. I probably will not go back anytime soon. I ate at Aria, downtown the night before, only from the 5 dollar tapas menu and thought both the food tastier, service better and ambiance much more enjoyable."

"Valentine's day fixed menu offered all you could hope for: great choices, wonderful execution, fantastic tasting and presentation. Service was outstanding given the packed restaurant and high expectations of everyone dining that evening. We will be back to sample the standard menu on a more relaxing day for the staff. "The thing that makes Zebra the best is: 1) the service. Joe is the best waiter we've ever had. We continue to have dinner at Zebra because of how he shapes the experience. He takes great pride in his work and he is very eloquent. He seems to know every detaiul about how dishes are prepared - I imagine that Joe could train waiters for high class restaurants. 2) the food is outstanding, rich and tasteful."

"We had a wonderful dinner at Zebra to celebration my mother's 96th birthday...the food was delicious and we were treated like royalty. This restaurant went to the top of our list of favorites! There were four of us and we had different appetizers..scallops were especially tasty..different entrees..try the beef Tenderloin..but we all had the chocolate souffle...perfect!! The staff could not have been more attentive...A great night...thank you all!!"

"I live in Atlanta and travel to Charlotte a few times each year. While I am sure Charlotte has many great restaurants, I keep going back to Zebra because it has some of the best food and service anywhere. I have yet to try anything that was not excellent and I would encourage you to experiment. The service is always friendly and attentive, yet never intrusive. I highly recommend it."
