Blue Hill at Stone Barns
Sourcing ingredients from the surrounding fields and pasture as well as other local farms, Blue Hill at Stone Barns highlights the abundant resources of the Hudson Valley. There are no menus at Blue Hill at Stone Barns; instead, the restaurant offers multi-course farmers' feast based on the day's harvest (and the diner).
Farmer's Feast Tasting Menu: 12 courses $208 per guest or 8 courses $148 per guest.
Special menus and pricing may apply for holidays. Please call for further details.
Elegant attire. Jackets and ties are preferred for gentlemen. Shorts are not allowed in the restaurant or on the terrace. Flash photography is not permitted in the main dining room.

"We've been going to Blue Hill once or twice a year for the past 8 years. Unfortunately, the last two times we were a bit disappointed with the food and the service. It had seemed to have lost a step. So when my sister from Chicago, wanted to visit and go to Blue Hill, we are a bit nervous, afraid she would be disappointed. We decided on the 12 course, and I happy to say that Blue Hill is back and better than ever. The courses were inventive and out of this world. The night was perfect, and we even got invited to the Kitchen as we were served a couple of courses. My faith in Dan Barber and BH@SB has been restored."

"I took my parents and boyfriend here for my mom's birthday/father's day - We all agreed this was the best dinner (food & experience) we'd ever had... The food was amazing - it was far more fresh than any restaurant I've been too. Every single course was "my favorite."
And the service was perfect - the wait-staff clearly worked as a well oiled machine. It was fun to watch. I got the impression everyone who came to our table genuinely wanted to be there. When we got outside, our car was already waiting for us - the coordination was so impressive!
Clearly the price tag does reflect all of this perfection - but I will come back here for the next special dinner I want to throw. It was worth every penny."

"We had the 12-course tasting menu (which was something more akin to 25 courses). Exceptional presentation and creativity, marvelous flavors, and unparalleled service (without feeling stuffy at all). Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our 5 hour dining experience (which included seating various locations)! I will try and come seasonally as this has now trumped all of my favourite NYC restaurants."

"I can't begin to describe how fantastic our experience was for our 10 year wedding anniversary! This was our 3rd meal here. It's pricey and very special so we only go for an occasion. But this time I made friends with our waiter and we were invited to have our dessert in the kitchen and met Chef Dan Barber! So fascinating to learn about the kitchen and watch the prep. The waitstaff absolutely get to know you and relay your needs to the kitchen. Every meal is customized, though there isn't a menu!! Truly a night to remember.
Also, a little tip for making a reservation. If you keep checking open table the 2 weeks leading up to the date you'd like to go, something usually opens up, especially if you are flexible on the time."

"All I can say is wow! It was beyond a fantastic dinner, the food was artwork and the meal was an experience from start to finish. They take every diner's preferences and restrictions into consideration to make the meal all about YOU. The embiance/grounds are breathtaking and the food the freshest I've found anywhere in my NY dining experience (and I've been a foodie trying all the best restaurants in the area for 9 years). "I used to come often but hadn't been in quite a while and wanted to host a special birthday for a friend there. The experience was as wonderful as ever, with stellar service of exquisite food. Loved the "weeds". The entire evening was just perfect in every way, and this local treasure rises again to the very top of my favorites list. We are so lucky that it is in our backyard and we can enjoy it any time.
This visit gave me an expanded appreciation for Phillippe's talents - we had not known they included skillful horticulture. His orchids and other plantings are as happy as the guests, thanks to his and his staff's doting attention. Thank you for a superior and memorable evening. We will be back again very soon!"

"I was pleased beyond compare with Blue Hill At Stone Barn! The food was outstanding. The service staff were superb and explained all 8 courses in great knowledgeable as well as the wine pairing for the courses The quality of all was excellent. Price for 2 was very high but was expected after a 3 month wait for reservations."

"The chef creates a multi-course dinner for you based on seasonal offerings of the adjacent gardens and cellars and your individual dietary preferences and restrictions. Numerous small plates bearing foods with a variety of flavors are delivered to your table discretely and efficiently, making this a dining experience rarely equalled. The large staff is a model of teamwork, and all dishes are prepared with a consistently high level of artistry. The experience comes at a large cost, but definitely worth it. After all, you don't eat this way every night."

"We were waited on by 13 waiters...we were comped drinks because they were nice to us and we even took home some of the best bread I've ever tasted in my life!
We took the train from NYC and a woman came to let us know that she would suggest that she book us a taxi to get back to the train station!
They went above and beyond!"

"This is the second occasion to dine at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY. We had a five-course tasting the first time but went for the nine-course tasting for our anniversary. I won't detail the specifics because their menus change monthly, but the vegetables are the most phenomenally fresh I have every tasted and their dedication to careful preparation, presentation, service, and discretion are first-class. If you have time during the summer or fall I recommend taking the farm tour. Their growing techniques, sourcing, and animal raising ideas are all to be admired. You get what you paid for, and if you deserve a treat, this is the place to go."

"We ordered the 5 course dinner. The pre dinner items were crisp and fresh and brought one after another in near perfect fashion.
Then we waited and waited between 20-25 minutes for the next course -which was the first regular course. Nothing came until I got up and complained to the man at the front. The good service reappeared. The fourth course featured a pork shoulder and, I believe pork belly. The pork shoulder was very fatty - not enjoyable. The pork belly may have been ok for those who like it. I am not one of those. Altogether, it was a novelty and theatrical but there are many better restaurants for good food."

"Our first visit to Blue Hill at Stone Barns was so amazing we hesitated to return. Could it possibly be that memorable a second time? The answer: yes, yes and yes. This turned out to be not a repeat visit, but something altogether new. Dinner not lunch, spring not summer, which at Stone Barns means an entirely fresh experience. Except for the service, which was just as professional, knowledgeable and attentive as we remembered. Can't wait to see what happens in autumn and winter!"

Amazing, delicious, culinarily sophisticated and true. Located in the charming rolling hills of Rockefeller Preserve this is a culinary sanctuary and the wait staff are knowledgeable, sophisticated, really "into" their craft Unbelievable team that execute seamlessly and flawlessly.

"Easily the best meal of my life. We chose the eight course harvest feast with the wine and cheese pairings. Despite the fixed menu, they asked about any food allergies or dislikes to cater the menu towards our tastes. The root vegetable appetizers would delicious with the flavored drawn out with a light salting. The congealed ceviche was a nice surprise. The pasta course was tasty. The pork and beef courses were amazing with their accompanying sauces. They accommodated our chocolate request in the second dessert course and it did not disappoint. The apple and pear chutney for the cheese course was delicious. All of the wine parings were spot on. While I do not enjoy dry wines, none of the selections had the bitter after taste."

"As good as it gets in the modern dining scene. Local (Grown outside the windows) food. A menu inspired by the harvest and unique to each individual table during an evening. The food is delicious, eclectic, and inspiring. I'm not certain, but my experiences lead me to believe the chef tailors the courses for your table to the wines you select. That's the only explanation I can come up with for how perfectly the food (which is a surprise for each course) always perfectly matches the wine you blindly select. And often overlooked, the service is absolutely impeccable. A truly special dining experience crafted by exceptional restaurateurs."

"My wife and I recently visited Blue Hill at Stone Barns for a Sunday brunch. The beauty of the rural setting along with the gorgeous stone buildings is only surpassed by the incredible "Farmers Feast" presented by an army of incredibly competent servers.

"I only have superlatives to describe our experience at this restaurant. The food is very unusual, beautifully presented, superb, and the element of surprise makes it a lot of fun. We went as a group of eight, and I found that the presentation and the unusual combinations and pairings in this restaurant, all contributed to the conversation. It was as if we were all sharing the same delicious adventure. Everyone who served us was personable and helpful, and I would describe the service as impeccable. I wish I had been able to see more of the grounds, but it was dark when we got there. It does look like a spectacular setting. The interior is tasteful and elegant. Just an unforgettable experience and worthy of a special occasion."

"Blue Hills is an amazing and creative food experience in a beautiful setting. However be ready for "busy" service with an attitude, a medoicre wine list in the low-mid range (lots of excellent, very expensive choices) and a big bill. We ordered the five course menu (with an optional cheese course - very good), but had to ask several times along the way which course we were eating. A request for bread from a European colleague was greeted with a resolute "No, that is planned for later in the meal"! Presentation is outstanding - the beef course and desserts were very tasty. It's an unusual experience, but next time I would eat in the very cozy bar and skip the bustle and pretension in the dining room."

"My husband and I had a memorable (in a good way!) experience at Blue Hill. The hosts were affable and professional; the servers were knowledgeable, respectful, and personable; the sommelier was very helpful, steering us to the most appropriate wine; and the food was delicious, creative, and served in a timely and thoughtful fashion. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We had a great table with plenty of room, and with a good vantage point. The way the food is delivered is kind of like a little performance, with some choreography involved, but all the dishes were very accessible to most palates. The people who work there share a kind of aesthetic,and the farm to table mission is apparent and something to support. Unforgettable!"

"Wile this was in no means a cheap meal, it was an experience of a lifetime! Wedding the 8-course tasting but next time were going for the 12. We wanted to try everything! The service is impeccable. Every waiter knows exactly what part of the meal you are on, and the maitre'd is very attentive, making sure everything is great. We started with about 10 amuse Bouche and it was a little surprise every time. Such a great use of the farm ingredients, we couldn't get enough of the beet salt! We will be making this an every year special stop on our trip."

"our 3rd year in a row coming here for weekend brunch, and this was probably the best experience yet. we opted for a 5-course prix fixe and every single morsel of food that followed was perfect. from bread to coffee, to everything in between - the meal was spectacular! we've never tried it for dinner but can only imagine it's as good as brunch."

"Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a must visit venue to anybody who is passionate about great food. Farm-to-table dining at it's best; sitting literally in the midst of a farm in a beautiful setting just under an hour north of NYC. The food is as fresh as possible and this really makes a marked difference. Service is top notch and one of the best features is they personalize your menu based on what is fresh, what you enjoy eating and what you dislike. This is one of the top few meals I have had in my entire life; I was blown away and will make a return to Blue Hill a central component of my next visit to New York."

This restaurant offered the superior dining experience among all the top tier establishments in New York City I have experienced.
The service was attentive and professional while unobtrusive, and the decor and ambiance offered the perfect complement for the superb meal.
The portions sizes were perfect. We went with the five course menu which was ideal for a late lunch. There are plenty of small complimentary samplings included. The meal is a visual and gastronomic feast. Save this gem restaurant for a special celebration.
While it is not inexpensive, we all found that for the rare quality offered it was well worth the price."

"Went here with my boyfriend for my 30th birthday - couldn't have picked a better place. 5 course menu was perfect amount of food and staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and explained all our dishes.
