"I have now eaten at all three of the affiliated eateries... Mohica, La Constanera .. and now Piqueos. This is by far my favorite.. based solely on the quality of food. I tried to Lomo Saltado at two (Mohica and Piqueos) and found it lacking flavor and seasoning. That being said... the Ceviche was exceptional."

"My girlfriend lives in Bernal Heights, but never had a chance to try this restaurant. She mentioned her son and friends tried, and raved about it. I went ahead and made a reservation for a first try for both of us. Our Saturday evening dining experience was beyond expectations with fabulous food, ambiance, and service. Scallops a must try. We will definately make Piqueos a regular destination."

"I have NEVER tried one thing at Piqueos that wasn't superlative. It's fresh, uncomplicated, real food. The wine list is interesting, the staff always accommodating and pleasant. I can't wait to return."

"Our family's favorite Peruvian in the City and our daughter's first request when she's home from college. We've got our stand-by favorites, but there's always something new and delicious to try as well. Love the sexy atmo. Wish they had alfajores on the dessert menu (I think Mochica does & we love all their restaurants)."

"We sat in the small courtyard, which is much quieter than the main room. The main room is crowded and very high energy, great for people watching, but the courtyard is where to be when you want to have a conversation. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, with a wine list that is small but well chosen to provide good wines at a good value. The service is attentive and low key. Even though we live in the East Bay, we come here regularly because the food is so good. Be sure to try one of their ceviches."

"From the short ribs to the scallops, from the paella to the snapper, every item we ordered was extremely savory and tender. Best tapas I've had... ever. I absolutely loved it, and would definitely make ongoing stops here!"

"Lovely food and the most wonderful sauces. It is unusual and really great, not just average fare, but very exciting and different. It is a must for anyone looking for great and different food. Very well spiced."

"I have been at Piqueos. at least 8 times and have not been dissapointed. I love the fact that their food is not spicy hot unlike their sister restaurant La Costanera. Nice restaurant to take a small group or for couples. Finding parking can be difficult.."

"We've been to Piqueos as a couple and with friends and i have been with girlfriends. The menu has evolved over time and it gets better every time. A great SF restaurant in that it is always lively but with room to enjoy. The corn cake, quinoa salad, quinoa coated prawns and the chicken thighs are my personal favorites. Did i mention the cebiche? Go to Piqueos."

"This was a fantastic find! It's a local gem. Great food, great service. Tip: Reservations should be made for the week, not good for very large group as the restaurant is cozy."

"I had been here before. This was my second time . While the service was great as was the atmosphere, the food was just fair.i had high expectations because the first time the food was amazing. Perhaps they were having a bad night?
We had a calamari dish that seemed like it was not so fresh and I love calamari but could only eat one piece.
The service and atmosphere were both terrific."

"I really like this restaurant. Staff is professional and accommodating. A fun place to check out in Bernal. The food is high quality and very well prepared. I wish the menu changed, and that were more green things on the menu."

"This was my first visit and I don't plan to go back. The food was edible but not good. Every dish (two appetizers and two entrees) had large amounts of red onions. I had to scoop a lot of red onion out the paella. I did not order dessert for fear that it would come with red onions. The paella should not be called "paella," perhaps "Rice with Seafood" but ABSOLUTELY not paella. The rice was precooked and mixed at the last minute with the seafood. I could not taste any saffron in it. The waiter asked how our food was. I said "so-so." He seemed surprised, turned around and left. This was a special occasion. I took a chance with Piqueos. Unfortunately the experience was not satisfying."
