"We had a wonderful lunch on Mother's Day. They were able to accomodate our party of 9. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The waitress was very nice but was obviously in a rush as she waited on us. Loved the soft shell crab po boy sliders!"

"Went to Kona Grill for Mother's Day with 2 young children. The waiter was absolutely wonderful with our family. He was patient, explained the specials well, was able to answer any and all questions, and made sure that my daughters' food came early even though I had not asked him to. He took care of anything I could think of, before I could think of it. On top of that the food there is excellent. I have never had anything there that I did not like. Even my picky daughter eats all of her food there."

"I went here for my graduation dinner. Even with a reservation, the hostess seemed unsure that they could accommodate my party. The restaurant was extremely loud so it wasn't very conducive for conversation. I personally was the only one to get sushi, which I enjoyed quite a bit, but the rest of my family's dinners were sub-par in their minds, in particular the Asian noodle dishes my parents got. The signature cocktail I got was quite good also though (something kiwi).
Overall, the experience was just so-so. It's not somewhere you should take a big group I think. I may go again with my husband alone and on a non-Saturday night. The experience I hope would be better in that scenario."

"I chose Kona Grill as part of my Mother's Day present, and it was very popular that day. We were not able to sit on the porch, which is my favorite spot. For those who have never been, the porch has large windows that can be cranked open to let in the fresh air. If I were going with a group, I might choose to sit there because it is a little easier to talk and be heard."

"Enjoyed a dinner here with my husband on a Saturday night. Prices seemed to have gone up and service was just OK but food was delicious as always. It was over Mother's Day weekend so it was a bit busy and energetic. Would recommend if you want fresh sushi and a decent steak."

"They serve a little bit of everything and the serve it well. From sushi to salads to pasta to steaks. A great place to go if there is a big difference in your groups' food preferences. Mixed drinks are light on the alcohol. Restaurant is loud so not really fit for romance."

"Our experience was terrible. Although they seated us immediately, we had to wait for a waiter for awhile. Additionally, we ordered our food, but it was the wrong order for my boyfriend. While they allowed him to keep the wrong sushi roll to munch on, but by the time the corrected order arrived 30 minutes later dinner was almost done. The manager did come to apologize but the waitress didn't come back to our table for about 30 mins and the sushi chef took care of her mistake. They added the sushi roll we didn't ordered was added to our check, and then hi lighted that it was taken off like they were doing us a favor. We were charged the whole meal, which was expensive, and had to wait a lot of time for the right meal."

"Had a 7pm reservation. Arrived to the West Broad Village at 635 to grab an appetizer and sit at the bar. However, with the opening of Chuy's right next door, parking was non-existent on the street or the parking garages which aren't made for large amounts of traffic. After driving around for 15mins we called it quits and moved down the road."

"Fish special was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, fairly healthy. Key Lime pie was AWESOME- tangy, smooth, sweet crust. HUGE pie piece definitely for sharing- one person could not possibly finish it after a full meal. Wines by the glass are well curated. My friend loved her cosmos; the server even came back to ask if she had a vodka preference, as she, mistakenly, did not initially specify. Our server was knowledgable of menu (my friend's fave item had been rotated off menu, so he offered alternatives), charming, adorable,and appropriately attentive. When my husband could not reach me by cell (too loud to hear the ring), he called the hostess, who immediately located our table and alerted me to a family emergency."

"Fodd - first time to Kona Grill for a business dinner. There were 7 people in our group and four of us ordered the sea bass...it came perfectly cooked and was delicious. We also had california rolls, chicken on a stick appetitizers and they were all good. Two people in our group decided to try the deep fried soft shell crab. It was the first time for one of them...she ended up ordering a second one.
Drinks - KG has a few that are brewed in-house. The brewer came out and chatted with our group. He even gave a couple of samples and they were uniquely good.
Service - one person in our group changed the selection after the waitress took all the orders. The dish came out wrong but was immediately corrected."

"First time at Kona Grill was an okay experience. Half sports bar and half restaurant, the concept seemed a little odd to me. We were there for dinner but the same extremely loud music is pumped throughout the place. Lighting on the dining side is very dim and the walls painted very dark. So with blinds down at all the windows, it feels pretty cave-like. Service was great - very attentive. Just not our scene."

"As always, we enjoyed our meal at Kona Grill. Their clam chowder is the best anywhere! We often eat at Kona Grill because of the chowder, though all of our selections are excellent. Our server, Filipe, was very attentive and outstandingly knowledgeable about the menu. This was a first time for the couple with us; they enjoyed the food and service as well."

"The happy hour specials are amazing! The drinks were not watered down and the sushi is to die for! I also enjoyed the pot stickers! YUM! I spent $23 and had 3 drinks, a roll of sushi, and an order of potstickers. That is definitely a great deal!"

"I finally tried this restaurant last year and was hooked. I have been back several times since, and never leave disappointed. Food and service are always top-notch. This time, however, somthing was a little "off". The service provided was marginal at best; ofter very hurried. Food, although good, was nothing special..certainly not memorable, like usual. My waiter never introduced himself, frequently left me with an empty glass of water, and acted like providing service was an inconvenience. Will go back again, and hope for a better result."

"The food was terrible the night of our visit. Overcooked and dry. It seemed as though both my dinner and that of my companion had been sitting under warming lights.
I also felt the server should have mentioned the price of the glass of wine he had suggested. Assuming it was in the $8-9 range, I ordered two glasses. Upon receiving the check, I learned of it's $14/glass price. $28.00 for two glasses of wine???
I will not be returning to Kona Grill. With the exception of our very pleasant server, it was horrible."
