"The Perfect Caper never disappoints. This was our 5th time having dinner with them and it was excellent as usual. Noelle (sp) was our friendly, professional and efficient server. I had the duck (a favorite of mine), my husband had the filet mignon and our son had Mommas chicken. All dishes were prepared correctly and arrived promptly as ordered. Portions were large for the money. The chocolate bread pudding is highly recommended! We frequent several restaurants in the area and this one is by far the highest quality and best value for the money. Appropriate for business dinners, special occasions or just because. The chef is creative and the menu is well rounded. Pretty work Perfect Caper!"

"Overall the experience was OK however I would no return. In my opinion, to remain competitive you need to provide your patrons with free wifi, especially in vacation settings such as Florida. I also believe that draught beer is a must, again in places like Florida and other southern hot venues.
I might add that my wife would likely have rated the overall experience higher, she was very pleased with virtually everything."

"Hard place to find - sign not visible from the street and right next door to a juvenile probation office! But once inside you totally forget you are even in Florida!
The service was outstanding and staff helpful. Bartender extremely knowledgeable with medium sized wine list, and great at specialty cocktails. He gave us samples of wines to help us make our dinner decision. So refreshing to have a well trained staff, who makes your dining experience enjoyable, and knows menu inside and out. Only 'miss' was the cheddar cheese grits - maybe its a southern thing - we did not enjoy. The apps of calamari, spring pea soup, and pate were delightful. We enjoyed the filet, and shrimp tempura and penne pasta.

"The food here is always very good, however, the service is always slow. Every time I've been there I've had to wait 20-30 minutes for a lunch to be brought out. I understand all the food is made to order but 30 minutes to make a hamburger just seems a little excessive. It's also frustrating to see people who ordered after you get their food before you. They seem to cater to their regular clients. I was hoping to avoid this problem by making the first reservation of the day, before the regulars got there. That didn't work. I will still go back because the food is good, and I enjoy the 2 for 1 menu. I will just make sure I have lots of time to wait around for my food and have a snack before I go."

"What a perfect place for a gathering of family and almost family for the special occasion of a 96th birthday celebration. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. Our table was set in an attractive fashion. Our server helped us understand what we were ordering and all eight meals were delivered to us at an excellent pace. You don't usually get that kind of service with a large party. The food was well seasoned and served hot. Everyone enjoyed the evening. We'll be back!"

"Although the service can't be beat, The Perfect Caper continues to disappoint. We would not have gone if I hadn't received a gift certificate. The oysters appetizer always needs salt. The filet mignon was NOT melt-in-your-mouth; green beans were too al dente; crab cake is not a cake, but a pile of crab filling that didn't seem cooked. If you don't like filler, there is none in the crab cake, but a deconstructed pile of crab is not what one expects. The best parts of the meal were the amuse bouche and the tiny dessert treat."

"I've never had a bad meal here until this night. Soup came out barely warm and main courses had to be returned to be reheated which made the meats almost impossible to eat. We were terribly disappointed and will require some persuasion to return. There are a lots of good restaurants in our area, and this one just fell off our list."

"We arrived 15 minutes early for our 7:30 p.m. reservation. We were finally seated at 8:00. The management bought us round of drinks for our trouble. Food was wonderful. Our wait would not have been a big deal if we could have had a drink at the bar. Unfortunately, the bar is small and they serve meals there so there was no room to have a drink. They should not allow meal service when they are busy. I won't rush back even though the food was really great."

"A wonderful meal with attention to detail & unique flavor combinations. Dining at the Perfect Caper isn't just eating & the staff knows it. They go out of their way to make your experience special. Since we moved here we were trying to find that special place that you would want to bring your guests to & this is that place!"

"Reservations experience was quick and easy! Follow up and 'reminder' is excellent exercise for all parties!
Hostess was exceptional.... Attentive, personable and witty! Service personnel was knowledgable , professional and personable.
Apps were hot when expected, good portions and very good. Entrees were exceptional.......great presentation, good portions, and excellent preparation! We had crab cakes, filet mignon, scallops..... all 'top shelf'!
A wonderful find.....w'll be seeking out Ella's in Westerly as well!!!

"We had a wonderful time for our first...but definitely not our last visit to The Perfect Caper.
I had indicated on our reservation that we were celebrating my husband's 75th Birthday. When we entered the restaurant the beautiful hostess greeted us and wished Gary a happy birthday. The first thing our excellent server did was to wish Gary a Happy Birthday. A very nice introduction to the restaurant. We were not disappointed with the food either - everything we had was delicious and plentiful - We chose both the calamari and mussels for our appetizers. Gary had the duck for his entrée and I had the rack of lamb! Both were outstanding! The finishing touch of coffee and fresh fruit with liquor sauce was to die for!"

"We booked on line for 7.30 p.m.and received e-mail confirmation. When we arived at 7.25 p.m. a very lippy receptionist insisted our reservation was for 8.00 p.m.. She was not pleasant and since I did not have a copy of their e-mail I was left with no option but to accept that we had to wait . We eventually got a table at around 7.50 p.m. and the food and service were, as usual, very good.
When I got home I checked my e-mails and confirmed that we were booked for 7.30 p.m. I phoned the restaurant manager and he, after checking, said that someone had apparently changed our booking to 8 p.m. at around 11 p.m.the previous evening. It wasn't me."

"I was there for lunch and then for dinner in a period of 6 days. Lunch was a terrible experience. No service--25minutes to order tea and to get bread--no one came over or saw us in the middle of the dining room! We then waited 25 more minutes for our salad--no excuse! Salad good but too long to wait.
Dinner experience was better because I feel it was due to my telling the hostess about my experience at lunch! New waitress but attentive. I was seated in the bar area--told I requested it! Never would, I don't enjoy the bar atmosphere at dinner. Food good. Might go back --not sure due to treatment."

"WE usually LOVE it but the last few times were a bit disappointing. Maybe because we tried the prix fixe menu, but I had the tempura shrimp and it was basically tempura shrimp. I was expecting something more creative as has been out past experience with other dishes. My husband had the salmon and it too was only OK, not outstanding. We will go back , but hopefully the next time it will be back to their typical creative dishes."
