Restaurant Alba
A casually elegant restaurant featuring hand crafted locally grown artisan foods simply prepared & cooked over a wood-burning grill. The seasonal menu is comprised of foods sourced from over a dozen local farms. Recent accolades include top honors in food & service from Zagat Guide 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011 & "3 Bells - Excellent" from food critic Craig LaBan of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Private parties can be accommodated. In addition, customized tasting menus are available for your wine dinner or special event. Leave time to enjoy a cocktail or craft beer at our bar or perhaps something from our extensive wine list. An additional lighter fare menu is available in our bar area as well. Reservations are only accepted in the dining room, the bar seating is walk-in only.

"We hoped Alba would once again be exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately it has declined seriously. Our waiter seemed to take offense that we were not drinking and his attitude and service took a nose dive from that moment. I was shocked when I asked to change a vegetable on the $39 rib eye and was told "no substitutions". He could delete the item and give me a separate portion of what wanted to substitute (he didn't say it would be an extra $6 for the overgarlicked spinach). The steak was about 1/3 fat and gristle (I know rib eyes are fatty). The food was fair at best (better steaks at Outback), the service fair to poor. Don't run here--no longer a special occaision place and seriously overpriced."

Food and service are fantastic with a wide variety of choices that are great for the foodie and the choosy alike. Lovely interior incorporates sound baffles that allow conversations to be easily held. Very good wine and beer selections - and the bar is a great area to have a cocktail or more casual meal."

"As most regulars know Alba added a new room a while back - our experience is that this dramatically increased the traffic and noise level in the right hand room (of old). The food is still great - but I have to say, unless we can sit in the main room, not sure we will be going as often. We're just tired of the constant traffic form the bar area - it totally ruins the romantic atmosphere."

"We've dined at Alba at least six or seven times, but this is the first time we walked out without feeling elated over a meal fit for foodies. The sampler appetizer was delicious, but the mussels were below par. The braggiole/polenta/rabe entree was mediocre. The sauce was heavy and overpowered the taste of the polenta. I couldn't tell that it was polenta. The meat for the braggiole fell apart rather than holding together, and I really couldn't taste what was rolled within the meat.
We also couldn't understand why Alba was still on its Late Winter Menu when other years offered delightful spring-like fare for our April visit.
It was a disappointing night. Rather pricey for for such average food."

"We had a wonderful dinner at Alba. They only had time open at 5:30 so we took it. It was pretty empty at that time which was nice. The ambiance is nice with an open kitchen area in the middle. Our waitress was fantastic. We couldn't decide on a wine, so she surprised us with 3 different tastings. All were great. The food was amazing. My husband had a beet salad which was so good and I had the soup of the day which was a chicken, tomatoe, orzo mix...delicious. For our main course my husband had salmon which was delicious and perfectly cooked and I thoroughly enjoyed a special of braciole. Amazing. We were too full for dessert, I'm sure it would have been great! Can't wait to go back!!"

"I selected Alba for my wife's birthday dinner based on many excellent reviews. I was not disappointed. We had an early seating and there is a two hour limit. But, if you are on time, you have plenty of time for three courses and we were finished in one and half hours. Everything is very fresh and well presented. The food was excellent. The anti pasta and salmon were outstanding. The table for two is on the small side. This allows for a more intimate setting; but, you may end up shuffling drinks and plates during your meal."
