Zinc is a lively three level bistro in Historic Nob Hill. Featuring an open, urban ambiance, Zinc offers casual fine dining on the main level and the loft mezzanine. For those looking for an exciting show, the exhibition bar offers seats right along the open kitchen. The menu focuses on high quality - yet affordable - American bistro fare and utilizes seasonal ingredients, many of which are sourced from local farmers. The Cellar Bar offers the same extensive wine list and premium cocktails as the upstairs, but in a more intimate lounge atmosphere with a lighter menu. "We are regulars because of the great food and service. She had the chicken and I had the trout special, fantastic. I started with the ahi appetizer and that is a meal in itself. This is a first rate kitchen and restaurant. Go there."

"Party of 6, 2 of us ordered monkfish with lobster croquettes. Croquettes were still frozen, got a little attitude when we said we didnt want to try that dish again. Seated on second floor overlooking kitchen which was cool but when the stove got flying he exhaust couldnt keep up and we were embedded in the smoke. I think Zinc means well, but they need to work out some very rough edges."

"It was unfortunate but we just ended up with a bad server. Wine glass was empty for over 5 minutes, he was busy chatting with a co-worker and had to be flagged down- not once, but twice- to ask for things. Never checked how food was after serving, and they weren't that busy.
Having said that, my French Onion soup was really good- nothing special, not different from any place else, but really good. Entrees were good as well. My salmon was good, but the sides it came with: bacon corn bread pudding and brussel sprouts...I could've just had a big plate of both of those.
Worth a try if you want to gamble on service- could've just been an off night."

"We are regulars and for good reason. Zinc always delivers. This time we dined at the counter to watch the meal prep. That was great fun. She had the chicken palliard and I had a steak special. We both had salads and they were great. Good wines. We talked with the Chef, who was quite friendly. Overall another great experience."

"We attended for restaurant week. The food choices on the special menu were varied and interesting. The portions were substantial. My personal judge of a good meal is when you do not have to adjust seasonings, and this was one of them. Even the scallop potatoes needed nothing more. We will go back.. The regular menu looked good."

"Zinc doesn't disappoint. Good food and service. Lot's of energy in the restaurant. Took some people who had never had dinner there for the special Albuquerque Restaurant Week menu. Zinc's menu was the best of all Albuquerque restaurants menu's for this promotional week. It truly gave a taste of what a regular menu would be. The choices were all top notch making it difficult to select from each categoy. Keep up the good work Zinc - we will definitely be back again and again!"

"I've found this restaurant very inconsistent. Sometimes it is wonderful. This time it was not. The waitress seemed angry and the entree tasted like vinegar. The wine flights and dessert were good though."

"Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We went the next night after Valentine's day expecting to be rushed through our dinner but the restaurant makes sure you have plenty of time. Our table was ready right at 6:00 and we left the restaurant around 7:30 well after dessert."

The entrees our group got varied from excellent to not very good (particularly some of the beef entrees). Wine list is excellent, as are the creative cocktails. The beer selection seems like an afterthought."
