"I went for Mother's Day and will never return. The restaurant had a prefix overprice menu that included a limited selection. In addition to that they were not prepared, they ran out of all desserts and some appetizers so the choices were close to nonexistent. Service was poor but they manage to hit you with an 20% gratuity automatically added to your check. I don't recommend this place especially when there are so many other options for your money."

"I have been to Riverview several times and have found the food to be excellent. As this was dinner service, the lighting was perfect and the mood was relaxed. The music was a bit loud but you could still carry a conversation across the table. Overall a great dinner, prices were and are quite within reason, and the only issue we came upon was the bill. Apparently a mixup in price of wine between the menu and their computer was resolved quickly, an apology was given and all was well. I make it a habit of always double checking the bill and it paid off this time. Yes, I will continue to frequent Riverview."

"Not exactly what I expected from the pictures...nothing special. The selection on the menu was narrow and although that's what I would prefer, I didn't find it welcoming or enticing. The best was the Carpaccio. I ordered Hendricks Gin, but was not served Hendricks and that was disappointing...I know the taste. The Restaurant was not even half full and crowd was not what I would have expected. Service was good, but the waiter was a little aloof. If I wouldn't go a second time, then you may not want to go a first...just saying!"

"My family and I went here for Easter brunch after having received several emails touting their buffet. The choice of food was minimal,it was presented poorly (no descriptions of the dishes, no one to help you with your selections,buffet placed in the crowded bar area so you had to dodge people to get to the stations) and the food itself was dried out and overseasoned-it was obvious no effort had been made to "freshen up" the food or area as the day progressed. Our servers ( we had several, they kept changing) were obviously annoyed at having to wait on us, and provided minimal service- when i asked for a cappucino at the end of the meal, the response was "I guess I can make you one". we will never go back again."

"We made our reservation at 11am. we were told they open at 1130p. then, we waited till 1215p to prepare their buffet set-up.
we suggest they better change their reservation on-line. we could have done other better tasks on that day. we didnt ruin our easter lunch. It's expensive & not worh it to pay for that bill. only the 3 of us, they wrote us up 20% service charge."

"The carpaccio was great and my duck was perfectly cooked. My guests had the steak and commented it was to die for.. For dessert I had the creme brule and my guest had the chocolate cake. The cake was surprisingly light and the brule was quite dense."

"I booked a table here because I had read that it was a nice romantic spot, but I can't say that I agree. It looks like a really fun place to go in the summer with its ample outdoor seating just off the East River. But on a quiet snowy evening the place was completely empty and the loud music pumping from the bar area at the entry was squashing our romatnic dinner.The food was ok. The service was friendly."

"This is usually a great dinner experience as its not my first time at this restaurant.However this experience was by far the worse, we had a male waiter who was inattentive. Had to wait 40 mins for our drinks which were made sitting at the bar. Acted like he didn't hear us or see us trying to get his attention, and when he did acknowledge us said hold on and took another 5-10 minutes to see what we needed. After no drinks or apps, we had to ask another hostess for bread because none was ever brought to the table. I believe the waiter didn't care because a party of 6 or more gratuity is included and figured he didn't have to work because his tip was already included."

"I used to come here a lot given the proximity to my apt... But it's not what it used to be anymore. They definitely changed the menu.... Last night went with a few friends for dinner... Ordered 2 app and 4 entrees in total. The 2 app were both extremely salty.... And the entree were quite mediocre. I ordered medium rare for my lamb and it came back medium to well... Ordered iced cappuccino .and all I can tasted was iced sweet milk w/ no taste of coffee at all. After this last attempt. I don't think I will come back any time soon."
