"I go to Bluestone frequently an the friend I met there goes at least once a week. The last couple of times we've eaten there, the service has been very slow. The restaurant wasn't even full. We waiting for our server to come over to the table. Luckily another server brought us water. After the server came and took our order we waiting quite a while for our food. Then, my friend needed a spoon and had to wait a long time for it. She even remarked, "what's so hard about getting a spoon?" I'm disappointed and wondering what the problem seems to be? Not enough servers? Management? What?"

"I was impressed by the size of the building and the many choices of dining rooms. The food was magnificent and the portion sizes were appropriate. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert which was ample enough to share.
The service was a bit slow and remiss. The waitress failed to present the specials and did not bring bread to the table. She was also slow in responding to our needs. The place was very busy and she seemed to have more tables than she needed. I hope this was a one time occurence. Over,all we were very pleased. It was our first time dining at the Bluestone, but it will not be our last and we will share this gem with our friends."

"My sister and I took my mother out to dinner for Mother's Day and we were all very satisfied and agreed we'd love to come back. Since it was Mother's Day, things were a bit hectic it seemed (our food took a little while to come) but once it arrived everything was delicious! Thank you!"

"Typically I don't care for restaurants on special occasions because the quality of food and service goes down - they are too busy. But Bluestone did a great job on Mother's Day. Our food was excellent, the service was good and we got our reserved table right away. It was a tad chilly, but they did turn down the AC for us."

"Service was o.k. and ambience was very pleasant, however, the food totally missed the mark. I had a grilled Wahoo that was so dry and hard I had to use my knife to cut it. I really want it to be a good restaurant since it's in my neighborhood. It use to be good years ago, but hasn't been for the last few years. I keep trying it hoping it would improve, but am disappointed once again."

"We have dined at Bluestone numerous times over the years, often for special occasions or with out-of-town visitors, and the seafood here has always been delicious and well-prepared and presented. The Hothouse tomato and cucumber salad was excellent, and the crab-stuffed swordfish, superb. My wife found the mahi-mahi a bit spicy but otherwise delicious. Her brother and his wife, visiting from out-of-town, loved the crab cakes in their surf & turf combinations, and found the filet of beef well-prepared also.
The wine, a German Riesling, was a bit pricey, but a good accompaniment for the seafood. Our table was near the bar area, which was loud enough to make conversation a bit difficult during our meal."

"This was the first time that my wife and I were seated in the glass enclosed patio. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the patio was quite charming. "Everyone at our table especially liked the seafood dip appetizer. The food was very tasty, but the selection was extremely limited. The choice of drinks on the otherhand seemed overdone, especially to someone like me who rarely drinks. Two-thirds of a page total for appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees compared to 1 1/3 pages for wine and alcoholic beverages seemed unusual for a restaurant...I guess they're catering to the bar crowd, which just isn't me."

"I looked for a nice restaurant in Timonium and Bluestone Seafood Grill came up in the list. Previous reviews said the service and food were great, and I would agree with both of those assessments. The server was very attentive and made sure we had everything that we wanted or needed, and she took pride in serving us while we were celebrating our anniversary. We happened to be there on a Tuesday night, when selected bottles of wine were half price, making the meal more affordable. The only drawback is that the dining room is not well separated from the bar area, which the noise level can be described as "energetic" in the above survey question. It made conversation a little more difficult, but the dining room had a nice atmosphere."

"Our meal was excellent; we participated in the 3 for 33 on Sunday, and had the Bluestone salad (always good taste and portion), the Halibut (excellent flavor, sauce was JUST right, mild and light, and the portion size was very good), and both the blondie and the chocolate cake (both were perfectly done and enjoyed! ). Our only caveat, and we've seen it before, even warned our waitress : food will come out before you finish the salad. For some reason they have a very fast line from kitchen to table. We sent ours back, told the owner, and apologies given. A bit annoying, when we warned them up front. The waitress was excellent. Always a fun tasty meal. thanks! Mark"

"What a pleasant surprise! We were greeted by our wonderful server, Brenda. She was patient,friendly and most helpful with the menu. We started with the seafood dip. It was wonderful, bubbling hot but the pita chips, no so much. Very greasy. We used the hot bread that was served. There was a Halibut special, but I asked if I could have it just grilled with asparagus. It was perfect! Served healthy and hot. My friend enjoyed the Shrimp salad boat. No room for dessert! "Bluestone, though initially promising, turned out disappointing. The atmosphere is sophisticated with low lighting, low noise level, understated decor. The bread basket was amazing -warm and fresh and full of rosemary. The flatbread caprese pizza was incredible - the crisp parmesan crust held multi-colored tomatoes and a swirl of pesto with mozzerella. Husband had the fillet and crabcake. He gobbled it all down and looked enthused. I had the ribeye and was less impressed -slightly overcooked, not very flavorful, with a side of mixed veggies that all tasted like red peppers. At least the mashed potatoes were good. Service was slow. for the price we paid, I don't plan to go again."

"Even though I requested a quiet booth and you did your best to honor my request, I had to lean across the booth and raise my voice to be heard by my friend. The noise level is way to high to be condusive to a pleasant dining experienc."

"Worst restaurant I think I've ever been to. Was sat at table near the bar...VERY LOUD. Couldn't hear a word my wife was saying. Took 25 min. before a waiter even took a drink order. Then waited 40 min. for him to take our food order. 1 hour 10 min. later our food arrived. My wife got seafood-OK. I got a steak- have had better steak at outback or even Golden Corral. After done eating waited 50 min....nothing....had to go to hostess to get the check.
Food - overpriced, poor quality.
Service - would had rather gone to Burger King.
I've been dining in fine restaurants for over 40 years in my opinion this place could care less if your a couple coming in for a nice dinner. They want big groups buying lots of wine."

"Others have written great reviews about this place. I wish I could do so. Our experience was horrid. Cold food. Slow service. Apologetic manager who obviously knew he was having trouble in the back, but that's not what I need to deal with. Had a reservation for their Sunday special that so many others said is a great deal, but I don't think I want to put myself through another bad experience."

"Great food, and wonderful environment. Was happy to be seated in the back room where it was quiet, if we had been put in the main dining area it would have been a little difficult to enjoy a quiet conversation. Otherwise, great place to eat."

"Wow... Crisfield stew is real winner! Perfectly cooked chunks of seafood in a subtle and complex broth. The plump and tender mussels were an especially welcome touch. The portion size was generous enough to provide a scrumptious lunch the next day. The Battle Creek oysters on the half shell were tender and deliciously salty starters and I will order 12 instead of 6 next time. Good bread and butter and generously-large drinks were some other details which struck us as well done. Key lime pie and creme brulee, both good examples of their kind, topped off this fine meal. We'll be back!"

"If you are a fish lover this is probably a good choice if not your menue choice is very limited.Not a good place if you are looking for a nice quiet evening the noise from the bar area is excessive."

"Excellent service, delicious top notch fresh food, had a filet and crab cake platter- came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything cooked to perfection.... Had cream of crab soup- hubby had md. crab soup. Topped off with key lime pie... Only complaint they charged us to $ 4 to split the shared plate and didn't tell us. Restaurant was hopping- very crowded on a Sat. nite but looked like they had a humongous party at the bar... The manager came over and asked how we enjoyed the meal.... Nice atmosphere- I'd come back."
