Review 4 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"Had lunch at Makers Mark today and really expected more based on the overall rating it has here on open table. There is no question that the decor is great and I can imagine that at night it is a great stop as part of the 4th street area, but to have it rated in excess of 4 stars overall is outright disrespectful to other great restaurants in louisville rated at that level. The food we had was fair "local bar" food at best."

Review 5 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"We were very pleased with our overall experience. At first, it was very noisy. The bar cleared out a little and the rest of our experience was awesome. The food was excellent and came to our table in a timely manner. Our server was fantastic! He made great suggestions on meals. I wanted a frozen drink but the bar doesn't make frozen drinks. I tried a mixed drink. The next time I ordered a drink, the bar was out of mint. Our server offered me a free drink on the house because they didn't have a couple of things that I wanted. I was super impressed!"

Review 6 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"The goat cheese appetizer is yummy. The one food item I would highly recommend. Our entrees were ho hum and boring Spareribs: just okay. Something I could duplicate at home. Bbq sauce too sweet. Not impressed. Pork loin needed a sauce and was tough. Potatoes were undercooked. Just not impressive food. I maybe had too high of expectations but Was very let down and will not dine there again. Im a foodie and truly enjoy trying new things and am Saddened that this place was not great Server was excellent though. And the wine pour was generous."

Review 7 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"I was very familiar with Maker's Mark as a previous Linen Supplier with Universal but never had the opportunity to dine there. My wife and I have eaten at many of the participating 502 restaurants in the past and she wanted to try Maker's. The food was excellent. It was a very good evening. Thanks."

Review 9 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"First time going prior to a concert downtown. Love the modern design and the seemingly endless bar. The taste of the food was a little of a surprise as I did not expect this from a "Whiskey Inspired Bar/ Restaurant". I had Shrimp and Grits which were excellent. My wife had a Filet, which was also excellent. Great and personable service. Will have to come back many times. Ambiance made us feel young again."

"Wonderful steaks and many great bourbon drink options on the menu too! This is one of our favorite places to eat when we are in town visiting from Cincinnati! The ambiance is beautiful and perfect for celebrations or a nice dinner out."

Review 11 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"Big lover of Marker's Mark Bourbon, so when I saw this place on the 502 restaurant week, we picked it as one of our places to visit. The atmosphere was nice and the service was okay (nothing outstanding but decent). We got our food and the plating was beautiful. Then we tasted it. I had the hen and my date had the smoked salmon. The hen was smoked to the point it was unchewable. I thought I just had a bad piece, so I tried the other. It was just as bad. I sent it back and ordered the petit filet. Again, the plating was beautiful, but the food was just okay. Her salmon was okay, but for a dinner of $70 I wish we had passed. Overall, while the place looks nice, the plating is beautiful, the food preparation just isn't."

Review 13 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"We traveled over 3 hours and were looking forward to a romantic dinner. Our server was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had the grilled salmon and my partner had the ribeye special. our appetizer was perfect. we had the goat cheese skillet. The seating was poor and uncomfortable. We were at a two top, I was on a bench/couch and my partner was across from me in a chair. The next table was so close that we didn't feel we could speak without being overheard, as we couldn't help but overhear everything the next couple said. We were too far away from each other so that we couldn't lean back to relax and hear each other speak. It was so cold that I had to keep my coat on at all times. I will not be visiting this restaurant again."

Review 14 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"They sat us at a table for two, which sound romantic, but it wasn't. I sat on the inside which had an adjoined bench; I was uncomfortably close to two strangers, one on each side of me. My husband sat on the outside of the table, in a plush lounge chair that forced him to sit further away from the table. We were unable to hear one another talk without having to yell across the divide. I heard more of our neighbor's conversations than I did of our own.
The food was also unmemorable. I won't say that it wasn't good, it was fine, but not good enough to do again. My husband order his steak medium-well - it was bloody. My chicken saltimboca was so salty that I couldn't finish it. We opted for desert and after-dinner drink elsewhere."

"My wife and I were there for Valentines Day. Everything was fine except seating. We were practically sharing a table with complete strangers. Way to close together for a nice romantic evening."

Review 18 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"The service was terrible. It took over an hour to get our food. The couple next to us were sat and ordered after us and were finished eating before we were even served our meal. Our waitress never apologized to us just kept telling us the number of tickets ahead of us."

Review 21 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"Went here for a birthday Dinner. Arrived early and hung out at the bar before being seated. The bar was cool and the bartender was really friendly and helpful, but wasn't pushy at all. Once we were seated, our waitress was really informative and cool. She quickly recognized that it was an intimate dinner and wasn't overbearing at all. She suggested great wines and an awesome dessert. Both of us got the filet for dinner and were amazed by the flavor and how perfectly it was cooked. Everything about the meal was perfect and we would definitely go back."

Review 22 for Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge-Louisville
"The ambiance of Maker's Mark was delightful- it felt very warm and inviting. Service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. However, the food was not up to par for the prices we paid. My filet was overdone and the Maker's glaze completely overtook the steak. The mashed potatoes tasted worse than instant. I would have much rather stayed in Cincinnati and dined at one of Jeff Ruby's places for that amount of money. I at least know that I'm getting what I pay for."
