"This was our first visit to Kona Grill and we loved it! We'll definitely be back. There were five of us, so we ordered a broad mix of food. We took our server's recommendations and enjoyed the salmon roll with lemon slices, the clam chowder, and the pork tenderloin. Service was excellent. If you're on the Plaza, this is a fun (and affordable) place to eat."

"Great people watching--tables stay full all night. Inventive designer cocktails. I think the best part of the menu is the appetizer selection. Great energy among the service staff. They seemed to like each other and were professional. The appearance level among the staff was above par and I always appreciate that. To an extent our server seemed "focused" to the point of serious. I would have been okay with her having a little more fun but she knew her stuff and worked hard. The menu description of the meatloaf was convincing and even had the little icon next to it meaning it was a Kona favorite. It had an unfortunate strange bologna taste to it that I found a little off but the taste of EVERYTHING else I had was exceptional."

"had a spill at our table - our waitress tipped over some wine glasses.. but the way they handled the problem was awesome - sometimes you go to a place and everything is just fine but nothing to talk about... how a place handles a problem on the other hand really shows what they are about - this place was terrific - food was great - service was excellent! will be going back for sure!"

"We made a Saturday night reservation for 8:00 p.m. (the only time listed as available on OP). When we arrived, we were put on the wait list and given a pager. We waited longer than the walk-ins. A complete waste of time to make a reservation. If we would have known we would still have to wait, we would arrived at our own pace and schedule and not killed time walking around the Plaza until 8:00."

"So-so experience. Food was not quite as good as we had at another location. Still better than average, mainstream fare. Server was energetic, but forgetful. Noisy bar, but it was March Madness time. Kind of dingy and dark inside."

"I was not happy with the food. I have a dislike for onions. In talking to the waitress about this, I was told that all of the sauces had onions in them. Therefore, the rice and Mahi Mahi I ordered was very dry. Maybe some flexibility and a non-onion sauce could be made available. I know lots of people who do not care for onions in their food. The Broccoli was raw and the marinate was not good at all.
We ordered Mai Tai's. They did not taste like Mai-Tai's. The garnish was two big wedges of orange. Also, the drinks were served in tall glasses (not the standard for a Mai-Tai's). Plus drinking them with the straws provided made it most difficult from the seated position. Your bartender needs to learn the basics.
Lastly, too noisy."

"Our waiter, David, did a great job recommending drinks and food selections to us. He kept us entertained all night without being annoying. Our only complaint is that there was a family with 4 children seated next to us and they children screamed, threw things, ran around and just acted like little brats ALL night and no one said anything to them. I felt sorry for the cleaning guy who kept having to come over to sweep all the edamame they were throwing at each other. The children were so obnoxious that everyone in our area noticed and was sending disapproving looks to the parents (who seemed oblivious to the bad behavior). Other than those horrid children, it was a good experience!"

"The food was phenomenal! While our server was cordial and gave us everything we asked for, he was very slow and didn't do a good job at all at recommending dishes or talking about the food. We waited 20 min to get our check and then payment receipt. We will go back; just hope to get a different server."
