"In all fairness Kona Grill might have been good if I had proper expectations. However, their website was misleading. Kona grill was really Rock Bottom or TGI Friday's with a SUSI Bar. If their online menu they have a very wide selection of "non seafood" section. In reality the menu presented is very small and the options on the website aren't there. The quality of the food would be ok if it weren't 20% higher then those more modest options. The biggest issue is that it is in a mall where your parking options are VERY far away and almost impossible to find. They do have a valet that closes at 9pm (with signs that proclaim that if you own a BMW its free all other pay.) There are many others in the area that offer better choices."

"Our server was great - personable and fun, yet professional. All food was very good - especially the Picasso Roll - an innovative sushi roll with a kick! The cucumber salad was equally good. The people watching at lunch from the patio was fun."

"I came here with a large group (12) for mothers day. the service was second to none, even with some of the people in the group getting a little roudy. our server was great and the FOH manager made an appearance to make sure that we everything was great as well. VERY HAPPY!"

"we had to ask another server for someone to take our drink order after several minutes of sitting there, but once our waiter found us he was great. Food was better than expected and the pace of the meal was nice."

"The food was fantastic, but the noise made it so our server misheard an order from the corner. We had the surf and turf, chefs sushi plate, steak and lobster roll, and the Hawaiian. All tasty."

"The service was extremely slow. We made reservations for a special mother-daughter dinner. Once seated we waited 15 minutes for a glass of water. The service was not as attentive as it could have been for the price. We had to flag down random people to ask for things and it was not as enjoyable as it could have been. The booth seating was comfortable but the view was other booths and tables with kids. The food was good although the sauces were a bit too sweet and we were charged too much extra for small substitutions. For the time we waited and the price I rate it as good but not great. It could have been a better experience. I was a bit disappointing."

"Greetings! We had a great time and great food. My husband and I both had the Macadamia Nut Chicken. As always, I substituted the shrimp and pork fried rice for the taters. YUM! Our daughter had the Avocado Club Sandwich and, especially, enjoyed the chipotle mayo. We had wonderful service and will be back soon! Thanks!"

"The food and service was amazing! If I could afford it, I would eat here everyday. I had the Hawaiian Ribeye, it was grilled to perfection and for an appetizer the lettuce wraps, best I have ever had!"

"Great atmosphere and healthy options on the menu, but salmon and trout were both farm raised not wild caught (I got the white fish and did not ask because I didn't want to hear if that was farm raised also). Some of the items are expensive but others are reasonable, the bill for me and my date was $24 including tip (she got sushi and I got white fish ceviche and we both got water)"

"The food was great. Server was fantastic and knew his sushi. I asked for a Sake martini, they didn't have one on the menu. So I told the server how to make one and in a few moments I had an awesome Sake martini. One would think that just because it's in Cherry Creek that this place would be snooty but oh no. Great atmosphere and great attitude of the staff. (unlike a certain restaurant named after a retired Broncos player)"

"My birthday celibration was cut short when our server gave less than average service. The reservation got lost,(I know because I called to confirm) and then our server didn't give any kind of introduction or follow up. I had never been there before and didn't know what to expect. Definatly could have used some advise on the menu and ordering. We started with sushi and didn't make it further after asking for the room temp to be adjusted. It was freezing cold. We all put on our winter coats. Our server didn't follow up. We had to request the Manager who was appologitic and kind. Unfortunatly it was too late and we were ready to move on."

"The sushi was good. The other courses of the 5280 week trial were underwhelming. I won't be going back to Kona Grill... there are too many great restaurant to waste time in the marginal ones."

"We have been here before, but this time it just didn't work for us. Everything seemed OK. Maybe because our prior visits everything was excellent, this trip fell short. We still had a good time and we will try it again for sure. I do have to say the Mojito's were the best part of the meal."

"This was our first time here and it was pretty good. When we arrived, it was VERY crowded and noisy at the hostess stand (probably because it was Restaurant Week). However, we were seated promptly for our reservation. They give the kids etch a sketches to play with, which I thought was great and kept our little one entertained. Our waiter was good, not great. The food was also not bad, but what made this 4 stars instead of 3 for me was the coconut shrimp roll appetizer. Even our daughter liked it and she doesn't like seafood...period! Unfortunately, our host said it was only a limited time offering. Overall, I would visit again."

"I liked this restaurant, the food was good - but I wouldn't recommend going on Valentine's Day - they were in such a panic that our dinner came out literally within 1 minute of our appetizer. The girl who brought it said "Um, I could put your food under a heat lamp". We said no and just everything at once. Plus - they sat us at a table next to a family with screaming children. Our reservation was for 7:00 PM - we were done and home by 7:45."

"neither my guest or i had sushi which is their primary focus; the pasta was average and not what the waiter described, the chicken entree was very average. would not go again unless i knew for sure i was going to have sushi/then maybe try it again. the waiter brought us our food and that was about it -- no water refills, no check on our meal and needed a shave !"

"My husband & I have been going to Kona Grill for special occasions, when our son & his family come in from NC., and sometimes when we just feel like it, since 2003, but its always for the same thing, sushi & miso soup. We love the different sushi choices and we have our favorites as well. We went last Thursday on Valentine's day, we made a later reservation in hopes it wouldn't be crowded, or really loud. Our reservation was at 8 pm. We had no wait, service was great, and so was the sushi, we had 5 different ones just the 2 of us. However, the music is loud and you can't just enjoy talking, without the music drowning out your conversation."

"I was able to get a last minute reservation for my girlfriend and I on Valentine's Day. Upon walking in the door we were greeted by a very kind staff. They lead us to our table and the server was there within 1 minute to greet us. She was funny, talkative and friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine which was delivered promptly with complete service. We ordered 2 apps(calamari & traffickers), the Vegas roll and the spider roll. Delish! We will be back!"
