"Kona is a fun restaurant, but not outstanding. The noise level is VERY high even when the restaurant is almost empty. It is built to echo every noise and it does. The food was good - I had sushi which was very well prepared. My husband had salmon which he enjoyed. Our server was very attentive and knew answers as well as obtaining extras that we needed."

"We were a party of 11 dining on a Friday night in the separate dining room. The service was excellent, the food was very good, but the noise level was almost unbearable. The dining area does not allow for a conversation even with those sitting close to you. The music is even louder. It's fine if you are at the bar but makes for a very unpleasant dining experience. Our party was either yelling across the table or gave up talking all together out of frustration."

"Took my mother on mother's day, it was her first time at Kona Grill. She loved it, it was busy but they didn't make you feel rushed to get out, and the food and service as always was top notch"

"Went to Kona Grill for Mother's Day. Was very busy with kids bustling around. Appreciate the service and work our server did to make sure we were comfortable. Food was average. I had the Filet and lobster. Filet had little taste and was cooked from well done to medium rare depending on your bite. The lobster portion was small but the flavor was excellent. Wife had the miso salmon which was very good. A little expensive for the smaller portion size. Overall we enjoyed our time and the food was good just not great. Maybe lunch time would be better when the prices are less for the same food."

"Overall, my experience at Kona Grill was very good. The food was superb, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was very nice. From a constructive criticism point of view, I would suggest that their beer menu is quite lacking (No IPA on the menu), and that the restaurant is just a little to loud if your trying to have a nice conversation. Not obnoxious, but just a little too loud. All in all however, it was a good value and a great experience. I will definitely return and I will give Kona an enthusiastic recommendation!"

"Kona Grill has wonderful sushi as well as excellent dishes for non-sushi lovers. The service is friendly, efficient and accommodating. It's one of my favorites. Everyone I've taken there has been a return customer."

"As usual, the food was great. It was our server, Matthew that made our experience outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, polite and attentive. Thank you, Matthew. We will be back."

"We took an out of town guest to Kona Grill for Happy Hour, and ended up having an appetizer dinner. Our waiter was wonderful, the food was great, and the weather made it perfect to sit outside. We had a great time."

"I went there for Gluten free food. Was a little disappointed as my mashed potatoes were so salty and my steak was too. The food took a long time to come and I had a hard time ordering as I have a lot of food allergies. So I did not send it back. The food was good just over seasoned for my taste. My husband had the Salmon with chili sauce and he said it was very good.
Probably would not go back. My other options were a burger without a bun. Umm no thank you! All the fish was either tuna that I don't care for or had been marinated in it that I don't care for although was gluten free. So I could not change up the sauces as would have been preferred."

"Food took over 30 minutes to arrive. One item in particular took over 40 minutes to arrive and was the simplest item on the menu, flat bread pizza. Service was horrendous, had to request refills constantly while the table with what appeared to be the servers friends ( right next to us) was never empty. Because we were a group of ten an automatic gratuity was added, $50.00, and I certainly would not have given a tip this high for ruining my daughter's birthday meal. When mentioned to the manager his response was that he was not aware of this, we were in the restaurant nearly an hour and a half at this point, and that he would make sure this type of thing didn't happen in the future. I wasn't really concerned with future guests, really?"

"We were called by the restaurant and told that they could not honor our online reservation. After arriving they made accomodations for us. They were short staffed and had untrained staff working. Food took forever to come out. One person in our party was served 30 minutes before anyone else while the rest of us waited. Poorly run restaurant. Would not recommend this place to anyone"

"Food was fantastic. Bartender very good at his job and innovative drinks are very good. Potstickers great for flavour, but dry and crumbly. Sea Bass was Amazingly well prepared and perfectly cooked. Really, really good! Asian Ratatouille was innovative and fantastic. Red Velvet cake for dessert was excellent, as was the butter cake. Service was quite good except for the fact that the waitress or kitchen forgot one of the appetizers and one of our group member's meal. The manager more than made up for it, though and so we were happy to pay our "mandatory" 18% tip. I would recommend this place to anybody and will happily return many times."

"We had been to Kona's a few times before while in Phoenix so while back in town last week we looked forward to going out again... especially for the grilled salmon. It was wonderful as usual. The last two times we were there we sat outside however ( and did not notice the noise as much). This time we were seated inside and found table conversation to be difficult. That aside, the food is great."

"The appetizers we ordered were excellent, but our entrees were not good. For example, my salmon was overcooked/burned on the bottom. At 6:30 PM it was already too loud in the dining area to carry on a conversation."
