"Southfield was convenient for my family to meet up on my daughter's birthday after we were unable to secure a table for lunch at our first choice (Café Muse in Royal Oak). We trusted Open Table's suggestion of "similar places" and were not disappointed. The birthday girl, who is a vegetarian, found enough interesting options on the menu and was delighted with her choice, the veggie bahn mi. Other family members were able to satisfy their varying appetites, from small plates to full-fledged entrées. Portions were generous enough that we had, alas, no place left for dessert. The wine list was interesting (and I made a mental note to return one night to try the signature "St. Rita" cocktail, which looked yummy), service friendly and efficient."

"What we like most about Sweet Lorraine's is that there's always something DIFFERENT on the menu you don't find anywhere else. The atmosphere is always great."

"this place was unusual for me (being an out-of-towner) but it was lively inside with all the guests & the food, though eccentric was amazing & different! Great choices for vegetarians/vegans also. Enjoyable!"

"We were sat at a table for seven in a back room next to te kitchen door. This was probably the room where they sat parties of six or more which is ok, but I would have preferred the main dining room.
The waitress did not identify herself and her service was poor at most. She would reach accross the table to give us our plates which we had to grabl. The same for when she collected them, we had to reach over. We should have not had to handle the dishes. One young erver also tried to do this and I told him to come around the table (was plenty of room) to do this)
I would have expected more of Sweet Lorraine's. I do not think I will return to this location."

"Has been a personal favorite for over 20 years, though I don't get to dine here as often as I'd like. Today I tried one of the specials, Chicken "Pot Pie." We began our meal with the Gorgonzola Fondue which was priced at $3.95 and more than enough for my friend and I to share. Though my main entree was yummy (and I finished it), my all time favorite is the Pecan Chicken (which my friend ordered and loved). The restaurant had a variety of diners today (business, family, friends) and has a different atmosphere at night, very lively and fun for groups and couples. Great decor and though I like sitting on the ground floor, I prefer the upstairs in the evening."

"As usual, the food was wonderful, as was the service. One member of our group is gluten intolerant, and, the restaurant has a gluten-free menu. It continues to be one of mine, and my family's favorite restaurants."

"We've been coming here for years and it was our 37th anniversary last week. We chose Sweet Lorraine's because they have an outstanding menu that changes frequently and is vegetarian-friendly as well. The waiter comped our shared dessert as a gift :)"

"The service was very good, waitress was extremely polite and energetic. There is a vast amount of food choices for every type of appetite within a reasonable price range. A little too noisy for a business luncheon."

"Sweet Lorraine's is one of our favorite dining spots. Unfortunately, Tuesday evening's waitress was rude and inattentive. This is an unusual experience at this restaurant. We will continue to dine here, yet, will not sit at her station again."

"My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening, and they were able to find us a booth in a quiet upstairs corner. The atmosphere was fantastic - dim, well placed lighting, nice decor, comfortable booth. We ordered a mixed drink and a glass of wine recommended by the waiter - both were great. The food was still the best part. It is flavorful, original, and the portions are huge. I would definitely go back. The service and food were wonderful!"

"Our service was excellent; we were seated immediately upon entering the resataurant, and our waitress was both fast and pleasant. I ordered the quiche Lorraine, which I found different from my expectation, but still tasted good."

"Food was good… service was fair… our biggest complaint is that Sweet Lorrain’s does not take reservations, yet they are on OpenTable? We made reservations through OpenTable for 8PM only to have to wait almost 30 mins for a table. It was explained to us that they only have “call ahead seating”… just thought this was strange since they are OpenTable."

"Food was good and lively atmosphere, a bit loud. The tables were very close together, creating an overall crowded feeling. We had a reservation for a party of five/special birthday. We were seated right away, the waitress took our order quickly and brought us drinks and complimentary bread. However we then waited 45 minutes for our food, without the waitress providing any explanation for the delay."

"Our waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. We came the day before Valentine's Day hoping that it would be less busy. I called ahead and we were seated immediately. The food was excellent as usual. The overall experience was wonderful and we always recommend Sweet Lorraine's to our family and friends. WELL DONE!!!"

"Sweet Lorraine's is an eclectic, innovative American style bistro. The interior and the food is all mixed up in a good way. I had the San Francisco Seafood Stew which was a twist on Cioppino using large ravioli rather than pieces of fish. The rest of the menu was equally twisted, fun, and interesting. I'll return to try more."

"Sweet Lorraine's is right around the corner from my house and its one of the best restaurants around no question! I've been there multiple times now, at least 6, and decided I finally had to write a review. Their food and staff are consistently wonderful. The quality of their ingredients takes their dishes above and beyond the average. They even have a deal if you keep your receipt and go back within a week 20% off! Overall I would recommend this place to any and everyone, a GREAT dining experience!"
