"Cascal is a good place to go on Friday or Saturday nights. It has a life music, great food, and classy atmosphere.
I was there several times, with my husband and with our friends. You could find it a little bit noisy during the show. So, if you want to dine and talk - come early, before the music starts, and later, you would enjoy the show.

Food is great here. As for me, I prefer small plates or appetizers, and take 2 of these ones instead of main entry. The restaurant has a huge variety of tapas.
For our last double date with friends, we got a bottle of Pinot Noir, a sampler plate of appetizers, and 3 tapas. It that was enough, we didn't have a space for dessert."

"Cascal's is wonderful, every time I've been here the food is delicious and the service extraordinary - We ordered off of the brunch menus (steak and eggs), and tapas Pollo Andalucia and the Banana Leaf Chicken. I can always count on a great meal. The staff was extra nice to us on Mothers day. We sat outside and they wanted to make sure we were comfortable and not exposed to the sun, so umbrella's were shifted around without us even asking. They were very kind."

"We love Cascal. So far over last few years we have made Cascal our Valentines and Birthdays treat. Love the food the Cava and Mojitos are yummy! It's a fun place and the food and service are amazing! Makes us reminisce our time we spent in Barcelona Spain. The Paealla is AMAiNG!!"

"Like most restaurants in the Bay Area, this place is deafeningly loud INSIDE, so we chose to eat outside. It was a lot more pleasant and we can have a conversation without yelling. The food and drinks were great, as usual, and the service was adequate without being smothering."

"Cascal is one of our favorite restaurants and we have eaten there for many years on special occasions and other times.
We enjoy the Caipirhnia ( a lime drink mixed with Brazilian rum over ice), ,Tapa special and Paella Marinera.
The Mojo Pork is also excellent.

"I took a friend to Cascal who had never eaten there before, and as usual, the food was delicious. I was a little disappointed in our table….I had purposely made a reservation ahead of time in the hopes of getting a nicer table. When we arrived, we were offered the only table for two that was left, right in the middle of the room.(I would have preferred a quieter side table, or one by the window….next time I will request.) Our waiter was ok…not overly friendly, and a little grumpy…but officious. An upbeat, fun atmosphere like Cascal should have waiters that at least act like they are having fun. Still, all in all, the food is great. I would also love to see some new menu options added."

"High ceilings with windows all around give this colorful gem an atmospheric light, and the Pan-Latin menu is refreshingly varied with offerings from land and sea expertly roasted, baked and/or marinated and dressed for exotic presentations of ceviches, tapas, paellas and other meaty delights from Cuba to Argentina and Mexico. The wait staff is spot-on, kept our plates moving and our tableaux exciting. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We shall be back!"

"The place is great, but if you are waiting for a friend don't be seated in the back. When I arrived I told the girl in the front I was expected a friend. As she walked me back to my table, I told her I was concerned that she wouldn't know I was there. She said it would be okay because when she arrived she would tell her where I was sitting. That never happened. I waited approximately 40 minutes at the table and my friend was waiting 40 minutes in front of the restaurant. She was just able to leave (already in her car) when I called and told her I was in the back."

"I love the atmosphere at this place, it is super loud so if you want a quite place don't came here you need yell to talk if you are near the bar during the live music.
The foo are great, the Tampa sampler is huge enough for 2 for dinner already be aware that everything in that plate is cold so I was disappointed about that but that was my fault I should have paid more attention. I had the seafood paella I wish it would have been spicier though it was too blend for me. Overall its great I love the crowd everyone in that place seems so happy."

"There were two of us for lunch. We had the Cuban sandwich and the Mexican gorditas. The dishes were artfully presented and appetite-inducing! The sandwich was full of aromas, blending nicely with each other, a lovely touch of savory and fruity. The fries to go with it were deliciously spiced and just the right amount of crunchy to the bite, but a soft center. Our server was very attentive and unobtrusive."

"I had not been to Cascal in a few years and found the menu much changed. We tried the braised pork Belly and found it almost entirely fat. We had to search to find a few scraps of actual meat. The sizzling Shrimp was good and the salad was tasty. I think I would order differently if I went again. It was good but not great."

"I liked the decor. Noise level was high. Glad we had reservations since it was quite full. Service was prompt and attentive. Waiter Jose gave an excellent explanation how to navigate the menu. I enjoyed the Albondigas tapa, it was a little too spicy for my other half. Paella Rustica was o.k., maybe too much fat. Would try the traditional one next time. Latin band playing in the background was fun, yet no dancing?!"

"Fantastic music on Saturday night. That's the main reason why I actually went to the place. The cocktails are excellent and the tapas and Peruvian ceviche were tasty and earthy. The noise is very high especially with the music so, if you want to have any kind of conversation, you either need to yell or sit very close to your compadres."

"Fabulous food, fast and attentive service and a menu full of gluten-free entrees. They had be at the gluten-free. So few restaurants offer gluten-free items without making you feel like there's something wrong with you. We sat outside and the service staff made sure we were comfortable when the weather changed by moving the heaters WITHOUT BEING asked. I have a new fav spot."

"The food at Cascal is always well above average to excellent. If you are ever wondering what to get, a good starting point is the 'Spanish Tapas Sampler'. A real 'go to' spot in Mountain View, which is how we ended up here on this night. We were finishing some shopping, it was getting a bit later, and my wife immediately decided she wanted Cascal's tapas. The only question at that point was getting seated; it is often so busy that it is difficult to just drop in, which is why I turned to OpenTable before heading to the restaurant.
One caution, this place is often packed and often has large groups so sitting inside is not a great idea if you want to have a private or intimate conversation."

"Cascal never disappoints. The menu hasn't really changed since it first opened, which is a good thing because they hit it right on the spot the first time. It's REALLY loud inside so we only eat there when the weather is nice enough to dine "al fresco." Service was great and a couple of appetizers and a (small) paella were really satisfying. Cascal is always – ALWAYS - busy and for very good reasons."

"The paella was fantastic!! My dad, who has eaten paella at many different places, said this was one of the best. We also loved the wild mushroom empanadas (my mom asked for a second order) and the beef short rib (I asked for a second order). The adobo is also a nice sampler of different meats. Our server was great--super helpful."
