"It's right on the golf course with a great ambiance. The food options are great for a nice comfortable lunch. Easy atmosphere to have a discussion or to just enjoy a pleasant afternoon. The service is very good - ice tea and water glasses are always kept full. I highly recommend it for a business lunch or a lunch with a small group of friends"

"We love the seared Ahi sandwich, but when we arrived on a Sunday it wasn't on the menu. We asked if it was discontinued, but were told it wasn't on the Sunday menu...but, our waiter said he would check to see if the kitchen could make it. Four out of our party of seven enjoyed delicious seared Ahi that day. They are very accomodating and do their best to make the experience a wonderful one for their guests. The golf course view is always enjoyable. Even on a cool and misty day, eating outside was a pleasure...the heaters were on and umbrellas availab.e."

"This is an outdoor venue with entertainment, torch lights entertainment and casual ambience with excellent service. Unfortunately rain forced the service indoors and the usual special experience was lost. When asked about where the entertainment went the manager said "oh it was in the bar and it's over now". Not a good answer as we had two teen agers in our party and obviously could not be in the bar.]
We'll definately go again , . . it has been a family favorite for years and we understand they are under major construction which causes much inconvenience for the time being."

"We received a wonderful gift card to enjoy at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. This past weekend we decided to return for a 2nd try at the Veranda. The only thing I can say good about our dinner, was that we had the same kind and courteous server. We waited and waited for our food to arrive and attempted to eat the hard, cool bread that was placed on our table. The salmon was dry and the artichoke something served with it was very unusual. Once again, our compliments to the server who continued through out the evening to keep up a good face. We did not want to say anything to her, for fear we would be compted a gift card for our complaints and have to return. So, save your trouble in traveling out to this restaurant and hope that you don't find it."

"Service was good but food (at here for breakfast) was very bland. Ordered eggs benedict and it was not very good especially since they were $15 per plate. Eggs were overcooked and breakfast potatoes had a burnt taste. We were guest of the hotel so it was convenient but probably will not return to this restaurant."

"Saturday breakfast: incredible San Diego spring day, eating outdoors with gorgeous views of the golf course. You pay double 50% more than you would at another hotel, but you get the scenery. But don't expect the food to match. Beyond a chef-prepared omelette and some good bacon, the rest of the breakfast bar ($20) was unremarkable."

"Open Table didn't list the pre-fixe menu when I booked the Easter reservation so we were disappointed that the items we saw online weren't available. The hostess offered us a special children's menu and the server allowed us to order off of it. About 20 minutes later we found out that those children's items were not available. Service was so, so what you might expect if you were golfing. Not Easter worthy."

"Breakfast was pleasant. Our server, Jaime, was attentive and took care of us. While the food was good, the kitchen needs to do better cutting the half grapefruit. They served it with a fork and rightly so because I had to fight to get the segments out. Eggs Benedict was served with overcooked yolks and very heavy on the hollandaise so that the muffins were soggy. My guests fried eggs were cooked properly, bacon served crisp and toast warm right out of the toaster. The restaurant is clean, nice view of the golf course. On a warmer sunny day, the outdoor seating area is really relaxing. Might be nice if the restaurant considered offering some healthy "fruit" and "green" smoothies instead of sugar rich smoothies."

"It was a beautiful day so we decided to head to the Rancho Bernardo Inn-Veranda restaurant. They have a huge very pretty patio that overlooks the golf course.
The chairs are comfortable and the service spot on. We started with the guacamole which is simple enough but when they add their homemade chips it gets kicked up a notch. It was fresh, lively and green. Bursting with flavor. Next was the Caesar salad. Clearly the dressing was made in house and tasted like a REAL Caesar salad. Our entrees were the special (pan roasted Sea bass over greens with heirloom tomatoes and a lemon/herb vinaigrette) and the pizza Margherita. Both were excellent and tasty. don't overlook the pizza here as it will surprise you how delicious it is."

"I went for lunch with two friends. It was a beautiful day and the table allowed a great view and a balance of sun and shade. I split an order of the Philly Cheese Steak with Fries with a friend which was more than enough for two women. Our dining companion chose one of the Pizzas which when it arrived was the size of a dinner plate and tasty. The service was pleasant and attentive. I think Veranda is especially lovely for lunch."
