"Good food, truly outstanding service and entertainment.
These are not your usual singing waiters!
Christiane Miranda who we got to know while she served as our 'waitress,' has a powerful voice with tremendous range--"the whole package," wife says--and reminded me of a young Barbra Streisand. The 84-year-old accompanist/pianist has a voice like Tennessee Ernie Ford. His deep bass 'money note’ was easily worth the price of our dinners and drinks, and his performance of "My Way" made Sinatra's old version seem weak--at least to this 80-year old geezer. Wow!
All the performers seemed to genuinely enjoy chatting with customers (several of whom ordered only drinks--there is no cover charge, incidentally) as much as we enjoyed meeting them."

"We hadn't been back to La Cantina in a while but as always we loved the combination of music and great food. The hanger steak, ordered medium rare, was perfect and the pan seared scallops seems to make my girlfriend quite content. I'd never had mashed potatoes wrapped in a grilled green chile before ..... nice!
Go everyone, enjoy La Cantina! Rob Fox is a master on the piano and the entertainment is fantastic."

"This was obviously a dinner show. We were stuck back in a corner where my husband got a partial view of the performer, and where I had no view at all. The tickets were $25 per person for the Andy Williams show. We should have been charded very little if anything. We attend musicals all of the time here in NM at Popejoy Hall and elsewhere and in NYC and Denver. The fees for tickets always are based upon seating. One would never pay the same price for being in the wings of a theater as one would in center orchestra. After the performance, the man in front of us turned around and said to me, I WILL BE PERFORMING HERE IN JULY, AND I CAN SEE THAT YOU COULD NOT SEE A THING. I DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN IN JULY. YOU GOT SCREWED! I agree!"

"We were ontime for our 7 p.m. Open Table reservation and were seated immediately. We were asked if we wanted to be near the "stage" or toward the rear of the room and we chose near. We got a ringside table at the far left, against the wall. Although we were often just behind the singers (but close enough to touch!) we were quite happy with our location.
My wife and I shared a nice beet salad and she was very pleased with her mushroom tamale off the early dinner menu, which is available through the night. I had venison sausage.
Our server was Christianne, the only female singer on the bill. She was very personable and had a fine voice and stage presence."

"La Cantina has been a regular stop for us when we visit Santa Fe. At one time, I was a resident in New Mexico and now I visit once or twice per year. The Cantina can be a vibrant, up beat and fun evening. However, I found the most recent visit to be somewhat sedate. The entertainers/waitstaff were good but not the best cast that we've seen there. The food selection was so-so and the wine was just OK. Typically, we'd stay until close, but this time, we left relatively early. Perhaps being that it is off-season, the whole experience was kicked down a notch or two. Better luck next time?"
