The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge is located at the end of a cobblestone street at the world famous, The Grove, tucked away from the crowds and fast pace of shoppers and passersby. Join us in our speakeasy inspired dining room and bar as we serve a California eclectic menu offered by Los Angeles' own, Anthony Jacquet.
Settle into an oversized booth, or allow us to sit you on our year round heated patio for an experience unrivaled anywhere in Los Angeles. Handmade specialty cocktails range from our 'Blueberry Lemondrop' to the famous 'Alley Whisper'. An international line up makes up our wines by the glass, with carefully selected labels invoking the best of each region selected.
The highlight of The Whisper Restaurant and Lounge is the various selections offered by Chef Jacquet. Locals favorites include our Spinach and Roasted Mushroom Salad, Chili-Garlic Calamari, Grilled Salmon with Housemade Gnocchi, and our selection of flatbreads.
"We had a dinner for three at 6:00 on a Monday evening, March 18. The Whisper is tucked away at the end of one of The Grove's side paths. My wife and I have lunched there twice before and enjoyed our lunches. Here was our first time for dinner with a friend. Everything was very good, food and service. I say that it would make a great secret hideaway dinner venue, as it is a bit off the beaten path of the very busy Grove center, and the ambience is very romantic (if you are in the mood). The manager also was so nice to provide a free voucher for free Grove valet parking."

"The place is good for romantic dining but a bit noisy. The main entree was served after 30 minutes. And our payment change was given after we reminded our server. He forgot to check our cash payment supposed to be with change. We had a great time. We like the food served but we were expecting a bigger serving size specially for dinner."

"Great drinks, food was pretty good as well. The mushroom flatbread was great- as well as the flatiron steak and the mac and cheese was amazing. Service wasn't the best, we were brought soup without a spoon and our waiter was busy for around 10 mins or so before he noticed. Also, we were missing some plates as he brought out our order, which he didnt notice- but no big deal, he handled it all and was very attentive after that."

"We have been frequenting The Whisper Lounge for a few years, and are glad it has remained such a hidden gem. We tend to pop-in on week nights after work, and enjoy a relaxing, quiet dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is perfect for 2 or small groups, as it is not too large of a venue, nor loud, and the service is always steady. The menu has changed recently, and we find it is actually better than before. Great bar and outdoor eating area along the Grove's back-alley."

"I had an amazing time at the Whisper Lounge! I made a special request for a table, and they had it noted on my reservation at check in. The service was amazing, as was the food, and the ambiance was fantastic for either a business lunch, lunch with girlsfriends or a romantic dinner. I could not recommend it more, and look forward to going back really soon!"

"Came here for Valentine's Day with a last minute reservation via Open Table. It was not too busy which was nice. There was a prix fixe menu that night with complimentary champagne. I was not very hungry that day and was afraid that I'd be too full to have dessert. Fortunately, the portions were sized just right so I was able to enjoy all the selections. This is a great spot to go if you want to avoid crowds. Also, they have a bar with a TV or two. I might check out the bar next time and just order some appetizers."

"We always assumed this was just a bar. How wrong we were! There is some serious cooking going on here - creative combinations of thoughtfully curated ingredients, perfectly executed. I'm trying to remember last time we had a dinner like this, where with each course we just kept saying "wow, this is so good!". For example: My Scottish salmon was perfectly cooked. Crosshatched grill marks on the outside but still moist and tender inside, and served covered in marvelous locally-foraged mushrooms, with soba in a light ginger-sesame broth. The broth was a subtle earthy complement, just a hint of ginger perfume without overpowering."

"My wife and I were having dinner with a couple from the Bay Area whom we had not seen for 30 years. We decided to eat at The Grove and, after reading about each of the restaurants there, decided on Whispers. We conveyed to them the purpose of our dinner and, when we arrived, the hostess acknowledged the message. We arrived on time for our 7 PM Saturday night reservation, and even though we stayed and talked until 11 PM, the management at the restaurant never put any pressure on us to vacate our table. We were pleased with the food and wine and my wife was particularly excited about the apple dessert. Thank you to Whispers for facilitating a great evening for all of us."
