"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our wedding anniversary dinner celebration at Splashes. The wine list is extensive, and it offered one of our very favorite and sometimes hard to find wines. Our appetizers and entrees of "Seared Ahi" and "Beef Tenderloin" were delicious and were prepared to our orders. Being able to see and hear the ocean waves breaking right outside our open window added to the romantic ambience of the comfortably decorated dining room. Splashes offers a very unique dining experience for those who would enjoy a seaside flaire to complement delicious meals and outstanding service. We will definitely plan to return soon."

"As a self confessed foodie I must confess I should not be surprised. I should know and expect the price has more to do with the gem of a location and the ongoing struggles of this perfectly situated space has little to offer that is perfect by way of food or service. Inevitably you will wait; either a little longer or much longer than you should. Consider that any honest answer that you provide to the question "how is your food" will not be well received, even with a gracious delivery.
In short the place struggles, the menu has more promise than it delivers and the location might just keep you returning anyway."

"From beginning to end this evening was a complete failure. In the end they offered the evening but honestly that did not make up for the ruined night. I do not want to go into specifics as I know so many have enjoyed this hot spot and the bar has always been one of my favorites."

"This is my "go to" restaurant for lunch when guests come in from out of town. Can't get much closer to the ocean, unless you're sitting on the beach. Food is always outstanding. Had some friends in from Oregon and they were thrilled with the ocean views and dolphin watching while dining. They also loved the food - Summer Menu: Mussels with vegetables- a lighter take on mussels meuniere ( use bread to soak up the delicious broth). We also had the new seafood salad with poached seafood which was light & refreshing. I enjoyed the Romaine salad with the add-on of grilled jumbo shrimp. Also Ahi sandwich was a hit."

"We asked for a window table and got one overlooking the ocean - beautiful! The food was outstanding and the service very attentive and efficient. It was a birthday celebration, and the restaurant gave us a complimentary dessert to share, which was also delicious. Would definitely go again when in Laguna Beach."

"I chose Splashes Restaurant to celebrate my grandmother's 92 Birthday. We went during the day, for lunch so she could see the ocean and walk to the sand. The restaurant has extremely easy access. We pulled up our car to Valet, walked to the elevator which took us directly to the restaurant. We had in an indoor table with direct view of the water. The service was outstanding."

"We met my elderly aunt and cousin from Los Angeles for a special Easter brunch/lunch. The food was excellent, but the fixed price of $65 per person didn't even include coffee or tea. Most restaurants that have such a high fixed price special occasion brunch, would even include a champagne cocktail, but not to include tea or coffee is a little difficult to understand."

"Overall good experience. Disappointed that I had specifically made a note in the reservation that we were celebrating my husband's birthday and they did nothing in response, but in fact brought the man at the very next table a birthday dessert with lit candle. Because of the that the rating was not as high as it could have been in service and overall."

"Went here for our anniversary dinner. The view from outside was incredible. Our server, Kyle, was very attentive and helpful. We split the crispy brussel sprouts to start- amazing! I had the Seafood Rissoto, wife had the shortribs- both very good. We both also had mixed drinks which were very good. Overall a great experience, but would go again more for special occasion than everyday dining."

"From beginning to end, our experience was superb. We arrived early as the weather was great and we wanted to spend some time at the bar before dining. The bar servoce was excellent. As soon as he discovered we had reservations, the bartender called dining reception and checked us in.
We had an outdoor view table, which was perfect. But when the sun set I got cold. Our waiter took note of our valet ticket info and within moments my wrap had been retrieved from our car.
The food and wine was excellent. Our waiter made terrific reecommendations. We weren't rushed, but he always materialized just as we needed him. This was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had."

"excellent location and view. you feel like you are almost in the surf which is as close as could be. the set up of the restaurant is marvelous--every table seems to be the only table. really enjoyed a sunset dinner.

"This is my 4th time at the restaurant. Everytime, the food has been great and the service excellent. This time, I can only rave about the service. After talking to the server, it seems that the old chef does not work here anymore. I did not enjoy any of the food one bit. The tuna tartare appetizer used to be my favorite here, now it does not taste good, adding things that shouldn't be in it. The entrees were mediocre for the price. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the free bread/dipping, at least that stayed consistently delicious. The view is still spectacular, but for the price that I paid, it really wasn't worth it."

"Seriously one of the best restaurant experiences in a while. The waiters were helpful and attentive; it was our friend's 21st birthday and they did everything to make it a very special day. We went for lunch and tried their Brussels sprouts, which were crispy and delicious, their salmon, and some desserts. The portion size was quite generous as well. From our seats, we had a sublime view over the ocean and even saw some dolphins passing by!! After the meal, you can easily access the beach and take a nice walk. The Splashes is ideal for special occasions, I bet the sunset must be breathtaking. Anyway, I must say that our surprise birthday present was a veritable success thanks to this wonderful location in Laguna Beach!"

"I came into Splashes with my girlfriend for a great sunset dinner and end to a weekend. We were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately, even before our reservation time. We were then greeted promptly and professionally by our server Michael. He was great, energetic, funny, witty, and very knowledgeable of the menu and providing us with selection recommendations. With the amazing views, ambiance, excellent food and service I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the future either visiting or local. This is a gem in the sand, all around. We will definitely be back with friends and family."

"Beautiful ocean view. Service was awesome. The brussel sprouts and tuna poke appetizes were phenomenoal. My wife had the salmon that was cooked perfectly and I had the ribeye, which was good. Pepe' our waiter was very attentive. Overall, I highly recommend."
