"Wonderful evening in the courtyard with service one could only call "expert". The go-to choice for a classic Santa Fe dining experience for our out-of-town guests. Casa Sena has added a very enlightened feature to their wine program whereby they feature a wonderful list of fine wines, all priced at $10/glass, $40/bottle...this in addition to their regular super-deep wine list. All in all, Casa Sena is the total sophisticated casual dining experience, lunch or dinner."

"Casa La Sena has outstanding American Southwestern cuisine, ambience and service; one of the best restaurants in New Mexico with a fabulous outdoor patio and garden. It is located in Sena Plaza one of the oldest houses in Santa Fe. On land inherited from his Mother in 1864, Civil War hero Major Jose Sena and his wife, Dona Isabel Cabeza de Baca, built an adobe home; extending the structure into a thirty-three room hacienda in 1868. Even then, before New Mexico became a state, the hacienda was famous for its cuisine and entertained many notable guests including Kit Carson."

"The patio was perfect for our first dinner while on vacation in Santa Fe. Our sever was pleasant and knowledgable, unfortunately we experienced timing issues and were brought our appetizers well before the cocktails arrived. The food was decent but my halibut was dry and overcooked. My husband's steak was only slightly better. In summary, it was a lovely outdoor setting but the food was disappointing."

"Since it had been a few years since we had been here last, we were concerned that Casa Sena had changed. We had the indoor dining, but our host thoughtfully placed us near a window that overlooked the patio. Our waiter was perfect; he knew when to come to our table and when to quietly leave. The food was expensive, but the entrees were extremely well done and covered a wide range of different foods. My daughter remarked that her chicken was the "best chicken she ever had". My only nitpick was the whiny woman at the next table that complained about everything down to the lighting in the restaurant. Must be from California. So, for a classic dining experience or a nice patio supper, La Casa Sena is still one of my favs."

"We have gone to La Casa Sena on prior visits to Santa Fe, so I booked it with some enthusiasm. Frankly I was disappointed on this visit, to the extent that it is off my list for futrue visits. The service was very poor with very long waits, little attention and little or no professionalism. In addition I found the menu disappointing with little apparent creativity. It was casual to the point that no real "destination" dishes were available - which is not my expererience previously. Perhaps the chef has changed or the strategy for the audience that the restaurant is seeking. In any event, I mourn the loss of a formerly good restauarant."

"La Casa outdid itself during our recent visit. We were greeted by name and every service person we encountered was friendly and professional. The courtyard was in full bloom and a beautiful backdrop for our evening, the service was impeccably paced and attentive and the food was delicious. The manager dropped by the table which was a nice personal touch. The wine list is a bit intimidating if you're not an aficionado (it's actually a wine book, not a mere list!) but we were saved by their shortened and simplified list with everything $40.00 a bottle and a knowledgeable wait staff. It's hard to know how such a perfect evening could have been improved. Bravo to all the staff at La Casa Sena--we'll be back!"

"We had lunch and dinner at La Casa Sena while in Santa Fe the week of May 19. Lunch in the courtyard is a pleasant place to linger over a glass of wine and well prepared luncheon selections. Dinner was inside in a small well appointed room. The menu is not extensive, but covers the basics. Not the best restaurant in Santa Fe, but far from the bottom. Overall, a pleasant dining experience."

"We started with a glass (or two) of wine before our dinner. The attached wine store is also fabulous, but that would be a different review! The wait staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. We went with special, which was a pork loin dish. It was wonderful, with excellent side dishes. The wine list is beyond extensive. It is literally in a three ring binder and has dozens of pages. I rarely ask for assistance in a wine selection, but I really needed it here! Bottom line, this is a Do Not Miss destination for a meal!"

"although we have had previous good experiences, dining out on Mothers day was something we should have avoided.
Service by our waitstaff was very poor, and non attentive. We received our first course only after the second course was delivered, and we had to ask for it. The entrees were served cold. all they were interested in was putting the food on the table, collect the tip that was automatically put on the tab, (which demotivates any person from providing good service) and getting us out.

"As a native and a child of a parent who played in Sena Plaza as a child, I see this restaurant as pretentious My family nor the Senas would be happy, the food was mediocre at best, prices high.
We were a party of 4. 2 had veg. tamales. okay but not worth $24. I had the halibut at $33. good but small portion. the bread was all white. . butter hard. We would prefer very olive oil and balsalmic and better carbs. just not a good value for the money here. The patio is beautiful and that's why we went but it was closed. I will in the future just go look at the gardens which are amazing but not eat there. Or go for a drink and an appetizer in the patio if I have a friend in town and they want to sit there. Go somewhere else for dinner."

"We had a superb dining experience, eating outdoors in the interior courtyard of this very old and historic building (formerly the residence of the Sena family). Located just a block away off the Plaza, across the street from the Cathedral. The food was exquisite, and the wine selection extensive, including half-bottles. And our waiter, Ian, was terrific. "La Casa Sena is gifted in its location right off the historic plaza in downtown Santa Fe. On that note, it shares the characteristic architecture and charm, being located within the courtyard of an older adobe building. There are majestic trees in the courtyard part of its dining area, as well as the indoor charm of an adobe building with thick walls, fireplaces, and charming warmth. The staff were extremely solicitous (moved an outdoor heater for us) and the presentation of all was delicious to the eyes--the first part of a delicious meal. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but the wine selection was extremely impressive (part of their trademark in the area). The food was very good, but when combinations get too eclectic, I'm not a fan."

"Very pleasant dinner, especially for such a tourist spot (which I try to stay away from). Courses were well paced, service attentive but not intrusive. I am surprised, however, that both here and at Andiamo! it somehow has become acceptable to serve a plate across another persons. Everyone was happy with their dinner, although two of the three desserts were had were rather disappointing - the doughnut was really just that, a doughnut. The espresso cookie and berry mousse was actually very good."

"Incredible wine list and very talented and professional sommeliers. Food was fresh and fantastic. I was not aware that one could get great mussels in a land locked state. It was also a nice surprise to have dessert comped since we were out celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. We will definitely come back for dinner to celebrate a future special occasion."
