"One of those menus where everything sounds amazing and you can't decide what to have. Our server was very good: attentive but friendly, chatty not stuffy. Obviously someone very talented in the kitchen. Highlights: foie gras appetizer and prosciutto wrapped monkfish. Definitely need to book - small number of tables. Atmosphere pleasantly noisy. We had a good experience and would go again. I wouldn't take kids unless they are real foodies."

"We enjoyed our evening at 221 South Oak Bistro. It is conveniently located in the town of Telluride just steps from the gondola. The food was delicious though our server was not very engaging. I enjoyed the salmon with the mashed sweet potatoes, my husband's trout was light and flavorful and my son said his pork tenderloin was very good. We were seated right beside the kitchen which was hot and in the middle of the traffic flow but there were other tables more intimately located. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting as the restaurant is located in a charming house with lovely artwork."

"Quiet Intimate with lovely ambience. Food is consistently delicious with creative menu . Service reliably good. This is our third time to dine here. We make it a point to come when we are in telluride. We definitely recommend."

"Another fantastic meal at 221. We shared a half dozen oysters, a delicious watercress-graperuit-blood orange salad, and a yummy seared foie gras to start. Then we went in different directions: pan-fried trout (oohs and aahs) and a rare elk loin (incredible!). Shared a delicious brûlée for dessert...a wonderful valentine's day delight.
221 never disappoints us. From the impeccable friendly service to the outstanding cuisine, the only problem we ever encounter is getting a reservation. Plan ahead!"
