"We had a reservation and was seated just as we came in. This was great, but they sat us next to a large party of 10-12 who were exceptionally noisy and loud! They acted as if they owned the restaurant during their time- as if they had booked out the restaurant for their own use. The management never asked them to quiet down, sit down. It seemed that the 10 tables around didn't matter- so if we didn't we stopped drinking, paid our bill and had more drinks, coffee and dessert at another establishment.
Love the food, but if you can't enjoy yourself and the company- there is always another restaurant."

"We have dined here numerous times. This particular night it was not on par. Swordfish was overcooked, chowder was tasteless and luke warm, grilled vegetables that used to be on a skewer were now just tossed in butter and far too much butter. Disappointed in overall meal and seems like Zislis is overextending himself with too many places and losing the quality."

"I was searching the web for a place that served good seafood for my wife on mother's day. I didn't want to go to Red Lobster because the quality has gone down to me over the years. The Lobster was just to expensive so I read a review from Yelp about Rock n Fish Manhattan Beach. I looked at the menu and saw all the food my wife and I love. We had the Lobster tail, the giant crab legs, oysters on the half shell and the clam chowder. ALL OF IT WAS GREAT. The place on the Saturday before Mother's Day was packed with people, luckily I had reservations. However, it was lively and great fun. The price was moderate but well worth it by the caliber of food and service. I can't wait to go back."

"This place is pretty reliable and consistent. The service was great, the hostess was friendly. The food is pretty good, although I think they should drop the prices a bit-it's a bit inflated. The kids meals are good. The wine leaves something to be desired."

"We really appreciated being able to make a reservation and to have it honored close to our appointed time. Service was great throughout our meal, and the food was excellent, including the vegetarian fare. Only minor problem was the noise level, hard to have a conversation without yelling."

"My fiancé & I heard really good things about the restaurant so we decided to try it out. Definitely NOT what we expected. I ordered the Macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi with sautéed spinach & mashed potatoes & was UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED. My fish was sooooo bland along with my rock'n sides. Everything was flavorless & even the strawberry lemonade I ordered was gross. My fiancé had the crab cakes with the spicy Mac & mashed potatoes....He wasn't impressed with his meal either. We both felt as though the food was lacking flavor & the restaurant as a whole was just a disappointment. Our server Nikki never formally introduced herself to us & didn't seem like much of a "Customer Service" type of person....we learned her name by looking at the bill."

"This was a milestone Birthday celebration. We have spent many special dinners here. The night started out as expected, great, and then ended with a big disappointment. The waitress forgot about us, and we had to ask the bus boy to get her, the other waiter came to assist us with excess food to pack-up, and then the manager had to get us our bill. I wanted to end the evening with desert and coffee, but I was so upset with the service, we left and went to another place to end the special evening.
I have spent many special events here with friends and family and have loved it. But after this evening, this will NOT be on top of the list of places to go celebrate a special evening!"

"We always enjoy Rock'N Fish, one of our favorite restaurants in Manhattan Beach. Great seafood and steaks but we were bummed to see that they tool the Teriyaki Beef Skewers off the menu though, it was one of our favorite dishes. We probably won't be able to get our son to go there again since that was his favorite."

"Awesome as usual. The only thing I would say negative is the $25 per bottle corkage fee - and we had 2 bottles. So an extra $50 seemed a little much on a +$200 food bill. My rule of thumb is that if we just have dinner and no drinks I am good with the corkage usually in the $10-$15 range. But we had 2 appetizers, a cocktail, and full dinners. Otherwise, outstanding as always!"

"It's a tight squeeze but very much a hot spot in the area! Although we found parking in one of the two parking lots near the beach, it doesn't accommodate a lot of parking. We enjoyed our food (calamari(tuff than I like), bbq shrimp (spicy, delicious and lots of flavor), crab cakes (excellent choice) and blackend Austrilian white sea bass (excellent too). Our reservations were for 8:45pm, we did have to wait for our table but not long. The place was still packed, lots of onlookers and walk-ins wait time was approximately 45 mins."

"We went on Valentinies day...brought our 9 year old daughter. The atmosphere not romantic really so perfect for a family or energetic occassion. The food was tremendous. Would be nice if they had a happy hour like anyone else...drinks are expensive. Service was good even though they were very busy. Great looking bar. Again, give us locals a happy hour and we won't only come for special occassions!"
