"My mom was running 2 hours late on Mother's Day, but I was able to get a reservation at 1808 Grille, to which we had never been. We found the Mother's Day buffet (they only do a buffet on special occasions like Mother's Day and Easter) to be quite good. Great fresh fruit, some of the best eggs I've had, and delicious meats."

"We attended with a 6 year-old. She had chicken fingers and we had the pork and the sea bass. Both were excellent. The servers were fast and attentive. The chocolate mousse paired with the sparkling wine was excellent as well. All three of us enjoyed it immensely and plan to return."

"We went during a weekday night for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was relatively empty, perhaps due to the time (early) and weekday night. We ordered one small plate (4 adults) and 4 large plates. The food was extremely well presented and was as good as it looked. We split a dessert, which was wonderful. My only question would be whether the decaf was decaf- I would go back to sample more of the menu."

"As this was our last night at the end of a two week holiday, so we wanted a really good restaurant. This was it! The food and service was excellent and both the Maitre'd and the Barman took time to come and talk to us regarding our experience.
Greg the Barman is in the top three barmen I have encountered in 40 years of travelling a lll over the world and he's a Brit!
Well worth the visit for both the Bar and the Food."

"We had sub par service. We came in from Dallas and were seated practically in the lobby. Never really entering the restaurant. When I said something about it I got a deer in the headlight look and no response. I should have booked a table @ my hotels dining room instead. My bad."

"Love their happy hour and selection of quality appetizers.
However, ate lunch there and the food was a bit slow on arrival -- and when the food arrived at our table it was no longer warm -- even though the food was tasty and made from local ingredients (love that they get the slow-food concept -- but the slow service inhibits the enjoyment of the food). I expected better for a $20-plus lunch.
Servers were quite friendly and helpful with menu selections. They also were very receptive to special diet requests at our table."

Great cocktail options, plus I just think this restaurant is chic and gorgeous...really love the ambiance. "We live in nashville and try to go to a new (to us) restaraunt a few times a month. The food really was excellent with a gourmet spin on southern comfort. However, the ambiance is what you would expect in a hotel lobby restataunt... Nothing special. Service was ok. I wouldn't recommend for a weekend night out but if you want a nice meal on a Tuesday or happen to be staying in the hotel I would say go for it."

The New York Strip, while prepared well and flavorful was gristly and frankly it was too thin.
Restaurant management was very accommodating when told about the steak. They replaced the dish and did not charge for the dish. A class act.

"Portions could be bigger, but overall everything else was good. In the West End area of Nashville, and attached to a quaint hotel called the Hutton. They serve the sides to the whole table (when not included with entree), and they were clever. They included red cabbage (not too sweet); bok choy with peanut sauce and very creamy polenta.
Skip the steak. Order the halibut or quail. They were terrific."

"We have been frequent fans of 1808 Grill, and dine there on many trips to Nashville. We were disappointed with every entree, and 3/3 sides. We were never asked how was our meal, and we cancelled a future reservation for a large group in May. Either the chef has changed, or quality control has changed! I guess we should have known something, when the hotel was sold out Saturday pm, but the restaurant was only half full. This former gem needs some polish!!"

"1808 is a great spot for a classy Sunday brunch with family and friends! The drinks are delicious and the food is excellent. I would recommend for a gathering of girlfriends or a family event. Located in a Hutton Hotel, 1808 provides an upscale dining experience without crazy prices! I have been several times with groups and been very impressed with the service and dishes served."

"The food was delicious, and the atmosphere very serene--definitely a good one for a date or a fancy occasion. At times I felt uncomfortable talking over the smooth jazz and waves of silence. Overall though, the food was very good (I got the short rib) and the staff was friendly...even though our waitress did not check on us often, there was never a shortage of servers refilling our water or asking if we needed anything else. Would maybe come back, for a special occasion."

"This was our second visit to the 1808 Grill. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Gfriendly staff who provided good service, had a nice variety of food on the menu, which they change often. My wife had the short ribs, which is speciality, and it fell off the bone. Great place for special occasion. Will go back."

"We took a stab in the dark with this place as we were at Vanderbilt for a conference and just picked this in the Open Table list. We were really happy with that choice! Interesting menu, excellent food, beautiful decor, excellent service, and reasonable prices. It's in the lobby of a boutique hotel, which is also stylish. I ordered the short ribs...they were really delicious and the portion was so large I could only eat half of the plate. I'd definitely go back here next time I'm in the area!"

"I made a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner. Despite what should have been a overly-busy and noisy time, we were seated promptly and never felt neglected or rushed. It was obvious from the flow of the waitstaff that management planned for the evening and their plan worked very well. This is my second time at 1808 Grille. The other was for a group of around 24. Both visits have been very satisfactory and I expect to return."

"The male Host was very pleasant. presentation of the food looked good. We order the braised short rib and the new york strip nice and tender but we had nothing but fat on it and it was very hard to enjoy. very disappointed in the quality of the product especially for the price we paid. The wine was hot and not at room temp at all the waitier open a new bottle. The waiter also was very unhelpful due to it being our first time dining with 1808."

"Had dinner for two here on a weekend night. A small plate, large plate, and shared dessert was plenty of food for each of us. The standout was the bourbon scallops in sweet potato syrup- terrific! The sides included with large plates were a nice touch. Although simple, the carrots were a perfectly-prepared highlight. Overall I thought the restaurant was very good, and my dining partner thought it was among the best she'd been to. We'd go back!"
