"Located in a grand historic hotel of Pittsburgh. It's worth stopping by just to look at the architecture. The menu is excellent with many good items at reasonable prices for a restaurant of this quality."

"Despite our reservation, the restaurant was unprepared for us. They had a busy morning, and the hostess indicated they were running behind. We were not offered drinks while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. The omlet station wasn't staffed when we arrived (15 minutes into brunch schedule) and they were out of french toast and waffles.
It was a graduation celebration and my niece's venue of choice. It is elegant, but I would recommend being prepared to wait."

"We have been to The Terrace Room several times. The food is always very good and this time was no exception. I had braised pork with lentils and brussel sprouts that was so delicious. My husband had the filet with the most wonderful potatoes as a side dish (I stole several bites they were so good.) Nice Wine Spectator selctions in addition to the regular wine list. Service was much better than usual (it is often quite slow and spotty)--the meal was perfectly paced. Very pleased!"

"The Terrace Room is absolutely lovely in its decor. It's a bit overpriced, but it is in a major hotel in town, so I guess that is to be expected. We ordered the crab cakes - for $29, we were a little surprised to see only one crabcake on the dish. However, I can honestly say it was one of the best crabcakes I have ever had. I always get nervous when I hear "it's almost all crab" because that often translates to "it's really dry." Not this-mostly crab, but most and delicious.Service was lousy-20 minutes to get one glass of wine is not acceptable-waiter said he was "slammed.""

"The service was terrible. I was the first customer at 5;oo Pm. what started as good service ,but turned poorly. Seems that that waiter had multiple tables, kitchen was slow, understaffed is probably the best reply. Did not get the service for the money."

"The Terrace Room was great for Easter Brunch. The food, service and ambiance were all very good. We wanted a nice brunch, but did not want a huge buffet. This was perfect."

"Four of us, all adults, had lunch at the Terrace Room on Easter Sunday. The menu choices were very good, although if you are expecting a typical brunch menu or American-size potions, you will be disappointed. This was more European-style. The dessert bar included a crepe station and cotton candy. The only negative was that the clearing of plates was a little too aggressive. A few things were removed before I was finished with them."

"Dining in the Terrace Room was not just a meal. The ambiance of the restaurant creates a feeling that the diner has traveled back to a time where elegance and romance reigned supreme. I would highly recommend the Terrace Room to friends and family who are seeking a quiet, romantic evening with fabulous food!"

"Regular attender at Terrace. Dining in the lobby or in the restaurant area is a nice choice. If you are opting for "bar food" you can request a menu from Tap Room or if you know what you want from the Tap Room menu you can place an order.
This is a very popular place, so if you are in a hurry, let your server know and they can expedite for you but this place is commonly filled with business meetings that may take an hour or more.
Food is great, my favorite wings in all of Pittsburgh actually (I eat three meals a day five days a week every other week over there as I travel on business).
Terrace is our go to place if we want to do a team meeting and want to stay close."

"I expected a 5 star experience and received a 2 star. Ambience-excellent. With hardly anyone at the restaurant at 7pm we were directed to probably one of the worst tables in the room! We had to ask for a different table. The waitstaff was good. The meal was the seafood dish. Both my wife and I had it. The flavor was inconsistant. The scallops were overcooked-rubbery. I received two shrimp, my wife six."

"We celebrated our 25th Anniversary (which I mentioned on the Open Table Reservation) and we were not disappointed. The crabcakes were excellent and my husband's steak was just right. They even surprised us with a beautifully decorated cheesecake for our special occasion.Well done!"

"I was dining with business clients. The service in the lounge outside the restaurant was very slow. The waitress forgot some items that were ordered and delivered the wrong drint to one of my customers. So, that was disappointing since this particular customer is very aware of customer service. The service in the restaurant itself was very good. The food selection was very good with some unique items. The food was delivered hot and in a reasonable amount of time."

"Food is good but not great. The chef should learn how to make a turkey devonshire correctly. It is after all a Pittsburgh dish. The best thing about the restaurant is the ambiance and especially the walk through the grand lobby to get there."

"Service: - Hostess was very friendly, took our coats and promptly took us to our table - Waiter was very friendly & personable, knowledgeable about their menus and the "fine dining" service was excellent
Food: - Appetizer: I got the carpaccio and gf got the beets appetizer. Both were good, nothing spectacular but descent - Soups/Salads: We both got the White Asparagus Soup w/ Crabmeat....deeeelicious! Soup was served piping hot, right amount of crab meat, it was quite excellent. - Entrees: She got the filet, I got the rack of lamb. Both cooked perfectly as requested, both were delicious."

"The building is beautiful and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. It looks to be very fancy, but several people were in jeans or sweatpants/shorts! The restaurant is in the Omni William Penn, which is an incredibly beautiful space. The food was okay."

"Everyone in our party was happy with the food. Three of us ordered the salmon, which was cooked well and served with a delicious sauce thar was sparingly used (which was something I liked; I dislike it when my food is drowned in a heavy sauce). The grit cake was delicious. The food came quickly and the service was pleasant. And of couse the dining room is stunning. It's a lovely place for a special occasion meal."
