"Great location right on the beach, great food, great service, great in every respect! The staff are super accommodating. Best to call and tell them special needs, such as large groups outside. We went twice in 5 days, first with a group of 12, then went back with 20, and they handled it fabulously!"

"This was our 4th visit to Pamela's over the past 4 years. The pluses are outdoor dining on the beach, knowledgable service, and OK food. The minuses are OK food and difficulty getting cab back out of the residential area where Pamela's is located.
The salmon tatar was very good. The organic salad was unremarkable - lettuce, a couple of croutons and a citrus dressing. My wife's mahi mahi was OK, but boring, plain rice. I opted for the daily special - beef churrasco with pinapple chimichurri. It was flavorless and very oily (I know it is olive oil) and had no zip.
It seems that the quality of the food is on a down tick - too bad, we love the setting. The food at Jams - A Rum Bar had it beat hand's down."

"This restaurant is located in nice neighborhood of San Juan. You have to be let in to enter. It is on the beach but due to high wind, we dined inside. Get the calamari appetizer, really good but the rest of our dinner was OK. Nothing special and the mojitos was OK.
Its a bit higher priced for dinner, not sure if I'd go back next time I'm in town. But Im hoping the next diner will have better experience than we did."

"This was a great experience. Eating right on the beach very informally but with excellent food. Offered great local color. Juan, our server, was so friendly and accommodating. He spent extra time with us talking about PR. We enjoyed generous portions of ceviche, calamari and salmon tartare as appetizers and had snapper and a langoustines special as entrees. All delicious. Reasonable prices as well. Great place!"

"We dined here two evenings inn one week. One night with our feet in the sand on the beach and the other in doors on a windy night (a little tight). "This is on the beach with beautiful red umbrellas and on a good night - stars for miles.

"The worst service I have EVER experienced in my life! It took two hours to get a waiter. They brought the main court before the apps and never took a drink order. We had to go get our own drinks. When we asked for bread they told us they ran out. The food was overcooked and full of salt. An awful experience"

"There is so much potential for this restaurant. Not sure if they were a little slow this day or having a bad day. our table on the beach and the overall ambiance could have been enhanced with candles, tiki torches or firepits to add some elegance. All we had was white washed light form the building.
Food was good, my dinner the ribeye was a little smothered with toomuch cheese and didnt care for it as much, but the overall flavor was very good. Portions were very good. Everything else was great but just a little salty.
Location is a gem and certainly you have to be local to find this or at least know of it from word and mouth. It was Saturdaynight so very busy on the beach with loud techno music blaring next to the restaurant"

"The place was just as advertised in other reviews. Everything was great and the food and staff were top notch. This is a very nice option for sharing a special dinner in San Juan. To make the experience good for all, it is best that this not be a family dinner place unless we are talking all adults.

"The octopus ceviche was refreshing, the portion is big enough for sharing. The salmon with candied papaya had just the right sweetness and a little kick to it. The coconut cheese flan was too sweet. The big draw was the wait. My reservation was at 9 but I got in 15 mins early. They very nice accommodated me but it took them 20-25 mins before they gave the menu or offered me a drink."

"Beautiful Waterfront Restuarant. My husband took me here for Valentines, food was excellent. He had churrasco, I had salmon and my 5year daughter had a kid size churrasco meal with french fries. My daughter loved having her own plate instead of sharing with us. The churrasco was a big size portion for the adults. The salmon was very tender and tasty. The only problem there is no parking in the area, you have to drive around the block to look for parking. The restaurant should have valet parking."

"This was our second visit to Pamela's and again we loved it. The first time we were there we were able to eat outside and we really enjoyed the sound of the ocean and the feel of the sand on our toes as we ate. Unfortunately it was too windy for outdoor dining, but the inside of Pamela's was very inviting. The food was amazing and the tilapia and salmon were both wonderful as were the mashed root vegetables. I hope to dine again at Pamela's as this was my favorite meal of the week!!"

"We enjoyed our dinner at this "caribbean cuisine" restaurant on the beach. We opted to eat inside, even though there were many tables on the beach. Service was first rate and very friendly. The calamari appetizer was crisp and spicy, a real winner. My shrimp entree had just the right amount of spice and was accompanied by jasmine rice which was also quite delicious when mixed into the sauces that decorated the plate.

"I love Pamela's whenever I am in Puerto Rico. It's a "one of a kind experience." White sand beach, excellent contemporary style cuisine with local ingredients and Puerto Rican influences. The chef is well known to those well-to-do locals and it is a beautiful scene as well. Nowhere else on the island can you dig you toes in the sand while dining on world class cuisine. Love everything they prepare. Sometimes service can be a tad slow, but who cares when you're on the beach?"

"it would be easy to tolerate avearge food sitting at waveside table with a glass of fine wine and the one you love but dont worry about mediocrity in food or service. the cod was one of the best entrees i've ever tasted and the steemed mussels were perfect in a coconut and curry broth. the cuban churasco was also wonderful. Service was perfect and the wait staff knew the menu inside out, making strong recommendations for less expensive wines and entrees that we initally considered. just wonderful."

"We went on the recommendation of friends who had just had a wonderful experience there. They may have just been off their game but it took us about 15 minutes to get a drink; they asked four times what kind of water we wanted then never brought it until we flagged down a passing waiter; they never brought the promised bread; they brought the wrong entree; they forgot to bring the bottle of wine that we had ordered until our meal was almost finished despite our asking. They did then just charge us for two glasses rather than the bottle. The food was mediocre ."
