"We were taken to our table as soon as we entered the door BUT after we sat it took at least 15 minutes or more before the menus were brought to us. We had to ask for the menus, then water...not quite the service expected for a moderately busy Friday lunch. The excuse the waiter gave us was that he thought we had already ordered? This was unacceptable since there were only utensils on the table...it clearly looked like we just sat down and no one came to serve us.
The burgers and fries/onion rings were delicious, however, and everything was good after that."

"Wolfgang was great from moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated straight away. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining to us size of portions, didnt try to oversell.
Entree had lobster cocktail, was ok, good value for money but didnt impress us.
Steak cooked perfect, sides were ok, very generous, impressed with how quickly our food came out considering restaurant fully packed. Way too full for desert but we took back with us.
Wolfgang imptessed me with the service, speed and quality of our steaks, definitely go back."

"Food was excellant as I heard. steak was very juicy. Someone likes me(foreigner) needs to get information about its menu before visit. Table was enough and maybe there was no needs to reservation at my visit time. I am disappointed with my sit even though I booked through opentable.com. Receptionist assigned my table near cashiers' place even though there were enough tables in restraunt. Waiter didn't give me advice about restraunt even though I told him my first visit to this restraunt. Waiter suggesting me giving 18~20% tip by writing to receipt. But tip that he suggested was too much for that kind of serivce."

"We had dinner here the second night in Waikiki and it was delicious!! The service is personable, the food consistent and well done a treat all the way around!! You can walk around and burn off the over-indulgence when you can't decide how many side dishes to order. Steak was perfection!!"

"We went to Wolfgang based on comments about its dry aging process and reportedly excellent steak. We had the Porterhouse for two with steak fries and creamed spinach, after an appetizer of oysters on the half shell. The steak was served on a hot plate with lots if sizzling butter, which killed the taste of the meat completely. The meat itself was tender enough, but certainly not the melt-in-your-mouth experience we expected. The fries were dry, and the creamed spinach tasted like boiled grass. For over $200 (including tip), a steakhouse worthy if that name should have delivered far better. Needless to add, we will not be going back."

"Saturday, party of four. Started at 4:30 for happy hour - the wine and cocktails were good and the apps - lobster crostini and steak tartar - were delicious! We moseyed over to our reserved table around 5:45. Caesar salad, veal chop, steak for 3 (Porterhouse and a T-bone), creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and fresh asparagus - we all enjoyed a tasty and well presented meal. Thanks to the wives, the leftovers were mine - as planned. Yes, with eggs on Sunday morning. :-) Another plus, the service was just right, smart, attentive and responsive. A great time that we'll do again."

"Great steaks. Very popular with the Japanese tourists that love to blow money on things that they think are American. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our dining experience. The only thing that threw us off was that our waiter disappeared about half way through the meal and after about 10 minutes another waiter showed up. We asked what happened to the other waiter and he told us that they work in shifts and he had to clock out. Very odd to me that they would change shifts in the middle of the dinner rush. Our reservations were at 7:00 pm. We will return on our next visit to Waikiki."

"We came in to Celebrate my sister in laws birthday, there were 4 of us including my 12 year old so. We ended up going with the recommendation of the house special a porter house steak, but opted to get it for 2 only as none of usually eat very much meat. We had the caprese and Caesar salad, I especially liked the caprese the basil puree was a really nice touch and I loved how there was a bit of melted mozzarella on each tomato without the tomato being cooked at all, nice touch. The porter house was perfect cooked and the seasoning was amazing. We really enjoyed everything throughout the evening. JJ was our server and he was great. We live on a neighboring island and I will definitely be back the next time I am in Waikiki."

"Enjoyed dinner but will probably not be coming again. It was nice to try something new in Waikiki but the service compared to other steakhouses was poor. Reading yelp previously before I went to the restaurant, I was actually quite excited about the service that was mentioned but was disappointed when I was greeted by an unpleasant hostess and a bartender who did not know how to properly make drinks. Our waiter was "okay" but being new to the menu he did not explain or recommend anything. I wish I had a better experience."

"I ate lunch here with a couple of friends. The lunch specials are a good deal: we had the burger, mahi sandwich, and salad with shrimp -- all off the lunch specials menu. They were also all pretty tasty. But the service was very uneven. Not sure if our waiter was having a terrible day that day but we only saw him twice -- once when he came to take our order 25 min after being seated and then an hour later when he came to ask if we wanted dessert. Both times he was scowling. But the other guys (the ones who brought, took away food and refilled water) were super nice. I wouldn't come in special to Waikiki to eat here, but if we were already at the Royal Hawaiian, it is a decent place for lunch."

"This is my second time dining at Wolfgang's, my first dining experience was for my birthday, the service and food were outstanding, so I decided to take my mom and daughter for Easter Brunch. The food was very good, however it was poorly timed. My mom had the soup & salad for her entree, I had the brunch special which was a soup or salad and an entree and my daughter had a steak & side dish. The salads were served together, which was fine, then my mom's soup came out. She was done with her meal then 30 minutes later my daughter's steak, side and my omelette was served. The service was terrible, very inattentive, it appeared that once there was a food timing issue on our table the waiter ignored our table, that was extremely frustrating"

"This was the first time at the restaurant. When we first came in, the first person that took us to the table didn't even smile. She looked like she was in a bad mood and didn't want to be there. This already left a bad impression with us as we are in a fine dining restaurant and paying good money.
The food was just ok. We ordered the Wolfgang salad, the crab cake, the filet mignon, and the ribeye steak.
The wolfgang salad was blah. I could've made this at my house. It had no taste. The steaks were large in portion, but seemed to have been burnt on the outside and was lacking seasoning for such a big piece of meat. The steak at Ruth's Chris was more tastier and well prepared in my opinion."

"It was our first time there and we will be returning. Our server John was awesome. He answered any and all of our questions we had about the menu. He even made great recommendations on the pairing of our cocktails/wine with our dish selections. Steaks were huge & cooked to perfection. My fish selection was tasty & also a nice size. Very impressed with the way all staff members carried an conducted themselves by making sure each and every person that walked through their door had been greeted, seated, & made to feel very special even if not there for a special occasion. A little on the costly side but well worth every dollar."

"I wanted something different so took a chance on wolfgangs. The reviews were mixed. A bit pricy. Our waiter didn't initially talk to us about the "steak for two" until I asked. This was the porterhouse (filet and strip) and pre cut. It was fantastic. Most tables were ordering this and I would recommend this. We sat next to 2 tables of kids. I can believe parents would even bring little kids to dinner at that place and not at 8 pm"

"Food was amazing as it always is. Restaurant had a calm demeanor. A little warm, however, I think it was due to the fact that we were seated close to the entrance where the doors are open. Everyone in our group seemed to enjoy their meal and left with a BIG smile on their faces! Lunch specials are very affordable. If this was publicized I'm sure the restaurant would be packed every day for lunch!"

"The service is always stellar here. The other consistent thing is rare tenderloin skewers, no matter how many times I've ordered them medium or medium well, they always arrive the same. I've become tired of sending them back so ate them as they were, and one piece was so hard with gristle that I could not even attempt a chew. Still, I will be back time and time again because this venue is pleasant, the waitstaff is outstanding, and the ambiance is relaxing and distinguished without being stuffy. Cheers. Great wine list."

"We had reservations on Valentine's Day for 8:45pm, we showed up early and were actually seated at 8:20pm which made me happy since we are not night owls! We were seated and presented a little bag of Valentine's chocolates to take home as well. We had the VDay special of the choice of salad, steak for 2, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and a chocolate mousse type dessert. Our steak was cooked perfectly, medium, and you could literally cut the filet mignon part with a spoon if need be. The meal in all was delicious and well worth the money. I believe it was just over $100. Perfect for a special occasion or just an awesome steak. Oh, and the wait staff was on top of their game and we never waited for refills or food at all."

"I have been to wolfgangs 6 times now. It's hit or miss as far as the food is concerned. Which is really frustrating because they can make a pretty good ribeye!! The service that I have received on 2 occasions was stellar. The last time I went to Wolfgang my friend and I actually argued w the waiters because they kept Touching our utensils (not by the handle!) and telling us we could not box our own food?!!! The waiters shared our table and one would bring something and set it down.. Then the other waiter would mutter something to himself and take the plate away... So unprofessional! Not to mention argue in hallway right in front of us! Again if you're lucky to go on a day where the ribeye is tasty... It's worth it... But be warned."
