Pewter Rose Bistro

Thank you for your interest in our restaurant. We have been serving friends, family and guests for over 20 years. Our location is less than one mile from the uptown business district; in the heart of historic South End and the Dilworth neighborhood. Plus we have a stop on The Light Rail! The restaurant occupies the second floor of a turn-of-the-century textile warehouse. Its original massive wood beams and soaring 30-foot ceilings, flanked front and back by walls of French paned glass provide a unique home for one of Charlotte's most popular establishments.
Chef Martin and staff offer menus that are "Internationally- American," drawing on the diverse, ethnic and cultural heritage of the United States - relating it to the palate of the region. Local produce, fresh seafood, poultry, beef, pork, game meats, and vegetarian items are all interpreted in unique yet "comfortable" ways.

"What was once a fine dining destination has been allowed to deteriorate. I understand why the restaurant is going out of business. 6:45 pm reservation, not seated until after 7:30pm. Numerous guests seated, served and left before we were even served. Out of many menu items."

"My girlfriend and I went to pewter rose the night before it closed and enjoyed one of the best restaurant experiences we have had. She got the salmon and I got the pork chop. The food was delicious the atmosphere was perfect and the wait staff was knowledgeable and timely. If it wasn't closing we would go back many more times!!"

"Went pn the last night of this fine long standing restaurant. I ate at thisnplace when i moved here 2 years ago and it was wonderful. I expected the same when i went the last night it was open but i shouldn't have....it is closing for a reason and it was the last night. Everything was just ok...nothing special like the first time. I wish everyone the best who worked there. End of a good restaurant in Charlotte."

"One of the worst dining experiences ever...it took over two hours to be served..and then the order was wrong. If that had been my first visit I would never have come back. This was on the Friday before they. closed and they were niot prepared for the crowd"

"We did not know that they were closing and were no longer offering the Restaurant week specials. That should have been communicated to us. We ordered off the regular menu and spent more than we had planned and had less food. Service was OK, but after learning that they were closing, we didn't expect the experience to be stellar."

"It was Pewter Rose's last night in business, but there was only one sign at the door that the restaurant was not participating in Restaurant Week. My Caesar salad came without croutons. The server did not react when told, just went and got a small bowl of croutons. My chicken consisted of two small legs without sauce."

"We received a gift certificate to Pewter Rose for Xmas, and were shocked to learn that it was closing for good after Sunday, January 20. We managed to find an open reservation time on Open Table and got in Saturday night. Some folks waiting in line for tables were turned away as there were no open tables available to those without reservations.A sad day. PR was a longtime Charlotte institution."

"So sad to see this restaurant close. So many special moments have been spent here. My husband and I went here for dinner the night we were engaged and we also had our wedding reception here. Last night we went one final time and made one more special memory; we decided on the name of our first child who is due in February! A very special place, that we will miss dearly. Thank you for the memories."
