"My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Cape May. We went to the Peter Shields Inn for their "Early Tasting Menu" and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was attentive and you could tell took pride in their restaurant, for good reason. The inn is gorgeous, across the street from the beach, and the food was delicious. Everything we ate, the roasted beet salad with ricotta, potato leek soup, hangar steak, Australian sea bass, and dessert was not only presented beautifully but tasted good as well. One thing, they don't have a liquor license so you can BYOB. Which, is better in fact."

"We always love Peter Shields! We frequently visit for dinner, but on this occasion tried their Mother's Day brunch. It was fantastic! The food was exceptional (as always!), the service was great, and you can't beat the views of the ocean. We can't wait to return soon!"

"This year's Mothers day had to be a special one, as my Father had recentley passed away. So I took my Mom for a surprise lunch to a place she has always wanted to go - the beautiful Peter Shields Inn. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! From the second you walk up to the front of the beautiful mansion overlooking the white sandy beaches and blue water, to the wonderful service and outstanding food, I have a feeling this restaurant will become a Mother's Day and any special occassion tradition. It was absolutely perfect. Also, close enough to the Washinton Street Mall for a little post lunch shopping."

"We had a wonderful dinner at The Peter Shields Inn. It was our one year anniversary. We were married there last year. I had the lump crab salad and Salmon followed by the vanilla crème brule for dessert. My husband had scallops wrapped in bacon, beef duo, followed by the chocolate lava cake and vanilla bean ice cream. All was delicious. The inn offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. Saturday evenings they have a piano player who plays light jazz/easy listening. It was a delight to listen to him play during our dinner. It was such a romantic end to our romantic weekend in Cape May."

"My family and I went to PSI for Easter Brunch. It was our first visit there, and in tow was our 3-year old son. The included buffet was all that we really needed...and it was more appropriate for us. We had a 10:30 reservation, and we were there for over 2 hours! The service was painfully slow even with an empty dining room! The first course was the best. The "daily" entree (both my husband and I ordered an omelet) did not come as described. Worse yet, it came with bacon and sausage instead of potatoes...and we're both vegetarians. All in all, I think the place has potential. However to succeed, they need to just cook and not be pretentious!"

"We had a WONDERFUL time during PSI's Easter Brunch! Being that we are frequent visitors during their dinner hours we decided to try their brunch, and we were blown away! There was an eclectic menu to choose from, and all of the creativity and detail we appreciate from their dinner menu was reflected in their holiday menu. Our food was outstanding, the service was top notch, and the views of the ocean cannot be beat! We are so glad we tried their Easter Brunch, and are anxious to return for a dinner at PSI very soon!"

"We went here for Easter brunch. Very slow service to start. Almost 10 minutes before we received our water and saw our waitress for the first time. I wanted to leave but was glad we stayed. The portions were very small but every course was amazing. Very gourmet. My deconstructed banana split was out of this world. I was shocked that we left there full. We will definitely eat there during our next visit to Cape May next month and every chance we get thereafter. The location is great as well. I look forward to being able to an after dinner walk on the beach during the summer."

"PSI is one of our mainstays no matter what season. The menu is always creative and varied, the ambience is great and the service is uniformly outstanding. We had Chris who is a seasoned professional who always gives excellent advice and impeccable service. My wife had Scottish salmon, which she said was superb. I had the special, which was monkfish wrapped in bacon, as well as the salmon tartare sampler first. Everything was perfect. The cheese selections for dessert are a nice twist and add a nice dimension to PSI. The creme brûlée is also a big winner. You can't go wrong at the PSI!"

"PSI is the total package when it comes to a fine dining experience. Some restaurants have a great menu,but miss the mark with service and atmosphere making the experience fall short.PSI has seemed to make it their mission to provide one of the most memorable dining experiences you'll ever have(mission accomplished). The entire staff catered to our every need. The menu is clever and creative proving each selection is carefully planned. Outstanding food, first class service, an ocean breeze in the summer and the fireplaces in the winter have set the bar to a new level, well done!!"

"Went early as the restaurant opened during the off-season. Were sat directly in the front, so we could see out to the ocean. Service was prompt and polite. The food was really delicious and well plated. We can't wait to come back!"

The soup flavors were over powered by the saltiness and could not taste the smoked trout, the lemon bar would have been wonderful if the tartnes would have been down a notch, expected a wow factor for $40 a meal during off season but was not delivered"

"I love Peter Shields Inn. My experience on this evening was a little disappointing. Maybe it was off because of the Valentine Day overflow and President's weekend. Service and staff are always great, and our first course was delicious. However, my husband's steak was a little tough and my dish wasn't what I expected. A little too fishy. Desert was wonderful, the Chocolate Cake paired wonderfully with our wine. I will definitely return, it is still one of my favorites in Cape May."

"As always, dining at Peter Shields was an experience in itself. My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentines Day a few days late and were beyond pleased with our choice. I ordered the Chet's tasting menu and, although I was a little skeptical at first, I was delighted with each and every bite I took! Every time we done at PSI, I'm blown away by how delicious even the most obscure items can be. Cannot recommend PSI enough!!"

"Peter Shields Inn has become our favorite restaurant in Cape May over the past few years. The entire package is amazing but the food is a step above the local norm. We started with a big eye tuna and octopus appetizer, wowed all 3 of us who ordered it. Looked like it came out of a magazine! My wife had the Foie Gras and absolutely loved it. The winner for entrees was the duo of beef, simply amazing. We all shared dessert and the lemon bar and chocolate lava cake were the hits there. Our service was very professional and knowledgable. I don't think you can beat the atmosphere either. Can't wait to come back."
