Park Grill is Chicago's newest destination restaurant at the gateway to Millennium Park and along Chicago's world-class Michigan Avenue. Park Grill's cuisine and seasonal year-round entertainment make it an experience unlike any other in Chicago. Executive Chef Bernard Laskowski brings a chef's interpretation to classic American cuisine, infusing it with unique Chicago flavor. When you sit down at the restaurant, the outdoor area, or the café, you can start a conversation, start a meal, start a business deal, or start a celebration. We hope your experience with Millennium Park starts here. Reservations are not accepted for our outdoor patio space. Preferences and requests for outdoor seating will be accommodated whenever possible, but are not guaranteed.

"We really enjoy this place. The salads are a nice size, and the other appetizers were quite generous. I loved the chicken entree! We split two bottles of wonderful wine between the four of us. The dessert was gods, and small enough to eat without feeling guilty about it! That prix fixe menu is a nice idea!"

"Good overall, food quality and portions for everybody. Great surroundings, ambiance.

I had the Kobe Burger, and while I thought it was okay, I would've preferred something else (like a standard burger) to celebrate my birthday. Good thing I can appreciate the other aspects - such as meat quality and pretzel bun. The gorgonzola was too excessive for me, and it made for a mixed first impression and visit. Not sure if requesting another dish at first bite would've been okay."

"Always reliable, good quality food at reasonable prices. Downside was that the portions are HUGE, a trend I hope restaurants start to reverse. One big disappointment was their signature french fries that were allegedly soaked in beef fat - came stale. I'd prefer a frozen McCain french fry that's cooked and served fresh over something that's sat under a heat lamp any day! There's just no point of making gourmet fries if you aren't going to serve them fresh.

Love the food, the ambiance changes with the crowd, so your mileage may vary."

"We regularly catch dinner at the Park Grill before a show. It is located near the Harris and other theatres. Parking directly below in the Millenium Park garage. At times the service lags when the tables are full and the staff get overwhelmed. The food is consistently good, presented with attention to detail. An average dinner tab is $35 - $50 for an appetizer, entree, and desert. Of course a few drinks will drive the cost north. The manager's response to our requests were impressive, thoughtful, and remarkably attentive. Thank you very much Emily. I was impressed. They have a nice loyaly program; spend $300, get a $25 credit for future use. The calamari and lamb are consistenly good."

"Food was excelent. However our server could not remember simple requests, ie hold the blue cheese on the steak, and bring us another bottle of wine, and last but not least is the fish wild or farme raised. After a second request we finally got an answer so we could place our order."

"Fairly expensive for value received, food was good, not great, relatively small portions. One of our meals had to be sent back to the kitchen for a reheat; family at next table sent back the salmon saying it was undercooked. This when there were only a few diners in the restaurant. Sraff, however, were eager to please."

"Everything was great. They knew it was our anniversary and greeted us each with a glass of sparkling wine. Nice touch!!
We were supposed to receive $10 off with Harris Theater tickets. We got 10% which was about $6.50. No big deal but I thought I wanted to mention it."

"I love Park Grill. It has been my favourite place to dine in Chicago for many years. The ambiance is wonderful, the food out of this world. "Dining at the Park Grill is very good. Don't think I ever had a bad meal even though most of the entrees are a little out of my taste range (Lobster Mac & Cheese?)

I love the dessert of Cookies Candy & Choclate. Six delicious items for $5 for the after meal wine or coffee.

Their new $15 lunches are well worth the price. I had chop salad & chicken and dumplings - GREAT!"

"This was my third visit to the Park Grill and although past visits were certainly good enough to bring me back, this time was disappointing. "We loved Sunday brunch with a view of all the ice skaters outside. The chef's juice creation for the day, fresh-squeezed melange of blood orange, orange, & Meyer lemon, was beyond fresh and yummy. Our entrees were tasty and filling, and the ice rink view made everything extra special.

I also highly recommend visiting The Park Grill in summertime for lunch or drinks outside. Enjoy the large, lively bar in the park during Summer."

"The location (Millenium Park)and the window view of the ice skaters and Chicago skyline are more than enough to make up for any minor problems with the food itself. While in a prime tourist site, early evening reservations were easy. This may have been partly cost, which is above many tourist's pricing. My child was welcome, and in winter kids eat for 99 cents on weekends."

"A tad more expensive than one would expect from this caliber of restaurant. Food was OK overall. The menu reads 4-star, but the results were 3-star. Service was a bit slow, but professional. "FIVE STARS, EAST MEETS WEST, SET ELEGANTLY AMIDST THE MILLENNIUM PARK ATTRACTIONS. DO IT!!!
Thanks to five star service, no detail missed, yet unpretentious and still dignified. Restaurant week prix fix demonstrates the same continuity of execution in the kitchen:

starter: Prince Edward island mussel stew
--mussels cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful.
--coconut milk and spicy tarragon broth perfectly fuse this dish between east and west
--firm, diced squash an excellent alternative to yellow potato. So much flavor!
--served with three toasts with have been gracefully daubed with olive oil, rubbed with tarragon and then lightly grilled. The result is a crispy coat excellent for mopping.

Main: Pork chop suey.
--chewy pork bites"

"The food was delicious and imaginative without being fussy. When I arrived before my friend at 6:30 on a busy Friday night, the host seated me at our table. No waiting at the door. Nicely generous bread basket with sweet butter and a tapenade spread. The waitperson checked if we were going to a show later (we were). We shared a salad and risotto. They did not charge extra for sharing a dish and both separately. The only blip: the entree did not arrive 20 minutes after the waitstaff said it would . But the bus person took care of getting it delivered. The risotto with mushrooms, cheese and poached egg was dreamy! Creamy, satisfying and flavorful. I can't wait to go back!"

"Spent Valentine's Day at the Park Grill. The food and service was very good, no complaints. Everything came without much delay even for how busy it was. The decor is modern and welcoming. Staff were all pleasant, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend checking it out if you're near Millennium Park. The ice skating rink outside is a fantastic feature too. Just two blocks from the Art Institute and Chicago Symphony, right underneath the Park itself. Wonderful location."

"Very neat location, we were able to watch the ice skaters while we ate. Also able to take a walk in the park after brunch. We had absolutely the best pork dish we had ever eaten at the Park Grill, a pork variant of Eggs Benedict with roasted pork and southern style greens, with a unique hollandaise sause.

Service was also excellent. Very nice place to have brunch or lunch."

"The location was excellent -- it was so nice to have a reservation for right after our ice skating experience. The Park Grill was incredibly accommodating when we needed to make a change with relatively short notice. However, the food and service were much less enjoyable than other visits I've made here, and I'm not inclined to go back soon."

"We love the park grill. We live two blocks away and it is a great place to bring out of town guests. There is something for everyone on the menu. You have great views of the ice rink in the winter and wonderful outdoor seating in the winter. The service is always excellent. It tends to get busy so reservations are recommended. I love sitting by the fireplace looking out at the ice skaters!"

"The overall effect that this restaurant had on me was not outstanding. The table was close to the door and kept me and my date pretty chilly over the course of our dinner experience. There were a couple outstanding menu items that we tried including the Artichoke and Spinach Gratin which was oozing with delicious cheeziness. The Roasted Pepper and Fennel soup was simply amazing. The Venison loin itself was delicious but the Hudson Valley foie gras was overcooked to the point that it was gritty. The rest of the dining experience was pretty standard and I think if it hadn't been for our location with proximity to the front door, the rest of our dinner would have seemed more enjoyable. Our server Todd was very professional and warm."

"Good atmosphere, attentive waiter, but he asked us about the food before we even started eating and then didn't show up until bill time after the food was already removed. "We've been here several times and we're never disappointed. This time we came for brunch (kids eat for 99 cents on weekends). I had the kobe burger which was fantastic, as well as a bloody mary, and then the $10 bottomless mimosa. The server did not let my glass get empty. Son got chicken soup which had lots of veggies, and the grilled cheese which has a super-thick slice of American cheese - not your everyday grilled cheese sandwich! Service is excellent and what's better than watching ice skaters while you dine?"

"I know people who have gone in the summer and loved the outdoor patio. We went in January and had a front row seat to the ice rink which made for a great view. Service was excellent and even though it is a little upscale, the mood is energetic so it was great for a small baby (ie no one complaining when he was loud).

"A group of 3 of us participated in the $5 Thursdays today during our lunch hour. Although the rules for the food items were changed so that the limited selections were only available after 5 p.m., the bartender allowed us to order from the $5 menu after learning that their site had not been updated. Two of us ordered from the regular menu while 1 selected the 3 mini burgers from the $5 menu. We thought the food was ok and the service was considerably slow as the restaurant did not seem to be very busy."

"Our new favorite place! The food was inventive, fresh and delicious! Even though we dine out frequently, so many items sounded like something new we wanted to try --it was difficult to choose! We had a table by the window and it was fun to watch the skaters at Millennium Park while enjoying our meal. Our server, Denise, was a delight, and she enthusiastically shared her favorites with us when we made that request. She seemed sincerely happy to make our dinner as nice an experience as possible, which we appreciated! We have also been there for lunch in the summertime, and sat outside, which is great fun, as well. All in all, this is a wonderful place, with attentive and personable service, and an impressively delicious menu!"

"The restaurant overlooks Millenium Park and the ice skating rink. Very cool location indeed; and the ambiance of the restuarant was very cozy and quiet. It has a nice, upscale feel but you don't feel uncomfortable in weekend clothes, jeans and sweaters. In fact, I took my wife there for our anniversary, and I think it works well for many special occassions. The food was very good; my wife had beef tenderloin which was as good as any steak house, and at $28 bucks, a nice deal. I had grilled whitefish, very tasty and reasonably priced at $23. Very good wine list with many choices available as quartinos (250ml, 8 1/2 oz). Dessert was an assortment of chocolate, candy and some other samples. A very nice way to end the evening. 4 1/2 stars!"

"The food is generally good but overpriced but our service was poor. My wife ordered a pricey Chardonnay that was not nearly chilled enough (three of us tried it). When my wife called it to the attention of the server she said "What do you want me to do about it?" After a long delay, she came back saying that all of the bottles were equally (un)chilled and she gave my wife a bottle chiller with a small carafe jammed into the ice. When the carafe was removed, ice spilled all over and it was impossible to get the carafe back into the chiller."

"The restaurant was very nice. The food was definately American food with a twist. Some of the ingredients were too fancy for those who have a simple taste and would want classic food. I thought that the menu, though small, offered a good variety to eat. The meals were decently sized. The server was very nice and accomodating. The outdoor ice rink is right infront of the restaurant. It offered a seasonal charm to the ambience of the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to those visiting the city."

"It was nicely decorated for the holidays and it was fun watching the skaters outside. The staff was very good about keeping things on track so we could make it to the theatre on time. The fish, we had two kinds, was outstanding. Never had anyone ask me how I would like my fish cooked! The french onion soup left a little to be desired. However, it was a little noisy if I had wanted a cozy, romantic dinner place. Overall it was very good."

"It was fantastic. Great food, service and view of the ice skating rink. The food portions were perfect and cooked exactly the way we ordered it. The waitress was very engaging, the room was beautiful and 4 of us ate for $123. We were attending a play and the theater district is only 4 blocks away, with parking for only $14 for 5 hours. This restaurant is situated in Millenium Park, just under "The Bean"."

"Great location right next to the Millenium Park ice skating rink. We had a table along the windows facing the ice skating rink which gave us a lot to look at. The food left a lot to be desired...small portions and quite bland, but the Hot Chocolate for dessert was delicious! "We had a great dinner after a play. It was a cold December night and requested a seat near a window. We were able to watch the ice skating from the comfort of the warm indoors. "The Park Grill has so many things going for it (location being at the top of the list), so it is a pity when so many little things go wrong. My family and I were there for brunch before going to a CSO concert and we left 1 1/2 hours to dine. The experience started off nice enough with a very friendly server and a lovely table overlooking the very busy ice rink. However, the food took over 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered (this is brunch remember), and it was barely warm by the time it got to our table. When we wanted to order dessert we told our server that we were under a time constraint and her response was "no problem!". Then it took her 10 minutes to get us a menu, by which point we just asked for the check."

"I must say that I was very disappointed in the over-all experience. After hearing the Yule concert at the Symphony, my group was looking forward to a wonderful dinner in a beautiful setting. Skaters were crowded on the ice as we were seated with a wonderful table with a great view. The cocktails arrived, and all seemed well. Chatter about the wonderful concert, our food arrived and the disappointment started. Two fettucines arrived with little or no flavor in the watery sauce. Two other had the special fish dish, one portion was twice the size as the other. The server did not even notice. To our waiter's credit, he tried to correct the problem, but by the time he got to the table, the rest of us had almost finished. I will not be returning."

"We decided to try the Park Grill as our special dinner out with our two oldest children (10 and 8) after the Nutcracker performance. The idea of eating fireside while watching the skaters on the ice rink. We made reservations to be sure to have a table.

The atmosphere was cozy as we anticipated. It was quiet enough that we could hear one another but not so quiet that we stood out.

The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating to the the kids but not condescending. That always makes for a pleasant dinner.

The food was good. The vegetable soup was quite delicious. The pork wasn't as tender as I would have anticipated but it was tasty nonetheless as were the grits. I would recommend the Park Grill as great Chicago dining experien"

"We had such a nice brunch on Sunday, complete with all-you-can-drink mimosas and cinnamon and caramel monkey bread. I had the steak and eggs topped with onion straws and it was simply delicious! "Food is excellent, great view of ice rink. Excellent for people watching if you have a window seat. Our waitperson did a fine job but her service was slowed by a weak suppporet staff. My wife's wine didn't arrive until the end of the first course although it had been ordered when we placed the order for food. Waitperson & floor manager bought us dessert to compensate. Seems that management skimps on personnel, which puts a heavy burden on table servers. This has happened all 3 times we have eatern there. If the food wasn't so good and the location were so convenient to downtown theater, we would not go back until the fix the backroom service problem. I guess that's what you get from a corporate-owned restaurant"

"OUr server totally forgot us. She knew we needed to leave for a theater engagement. We had to ask a buser for the check and had to go to the maitre'd to pay the bill so we could make our performance on time. I had no knife when my dinner came and had to use my husband's . We were never asked if I wanted more hot water for my tea or if my husband would like another drink. Coffee and dessert were not even an option because we were never given a dessert menu. "The menu was good but the execution was poor. None of the dishes my friend and I had were anything but adequate. I expected more from this restaurant. Also our waiter was terrible. He was very inattentive, even though he knew we had theater plans following dinner. We had to flag him down for more water, coffee, a dessert menu, and the check. Overall, a very disappointing meal."

"Overall, it's just OK. The food was hit or miss. Great french Onion Soup, but the lobster pasta special was remarkably poor with no lobster and no flavor. The lamb loin was spectacular and the beet/goat cheese salad was a great idea poorly executed. Our service was very unveven and we had to wave down a manager to get our second round of drinks delivered. Nice views of the ice skating ring and proximity to the theater brought us there and might be the only thing to bring us back."

"I was very disappointed with my experience at Park Grill. I have been there many times before and had previously really enjoyed the food, ambiance, etc. This time the service was absolutely terrible. It took 45 minutes after being seated to order a drink. Our table of 6 had to levae the restraurant without finishing our meal since it took so long to be served and we had theater tickets (which the waitress knew). The food was average at best. I will never return."

"Went on Thanksgiving but turned up very early having misjudged flight timings into Chicago. Given pager and sent to bar to wait. Had to remind staff having had a most enjoyable time at the bar for nearly an hour (saw other couples with pagers seated ahead of us)and found we had been forgotten and were back to original time on the wait list. Table was quickly found and we were given free glasses of wine as an apology. Then had great Thanksgiving-style meal with good and very friendly service. No criticism of the delay when we arrived, we were early and they were very busy. Point is that, in spite of this, we had a great time and enjoyed a great meal."

"The service here is uniformly slow, but tonight it was abysmal. 80 minutes from the time we were seated until entree (3 of 5 were steaks, 1 was a child's hot dog). One round of drinks were offered and brought, and those weren't correct. Steaks arrived without steak knives; we had to flag down a bus person to bring steak knives, as it was a good 10 minutes after our steaks arrived that our regular server came to check on us. 5 guests were seated in a small booth for 4, and we had to request a larger table (this was not a particularly busy time of day -- Sunday at 5:30). The food is always good, but can't say we will be back given tonight's experience. Manager was not very apologetic or accommodating."

"Food was OK -- lamb entree excellent. Service was distracted. Busser (not server) delivered my order to my husband and vice versa. Our desserts were delivered before our coffee (which is fine, but unusual) but then we had to wait while our ice cream melted before the beverages were delivered. When they finally came, the busser (not the server) dropped off two cups of coffee and disappeared before we could point out that my husband had actually ordered tea. We had to flag down another busser to let our server know about the mistake. Not the worst that could happen, but disappointing."
