Located in Old San Juan, just one block from La Fortaleza (the Governor’s Mansion) Barrachina restaurant has been catering to tourist and locals for over 40 years in the old city. The surrounding beauty of a colonial building over two centuries old with an interior courtyard and magnificent tropical foliage is the birthplace and home of the world famous piña colada, where don Ramon Portas Mingot, first made the famous drink in 1963. A visit to San Juan is not complete without Barrachina.

"Barachina was amazing. This was our 2nd visit. The food was great. We tried the Mofongo, Paella, and some others. We also had some pina coladas! Delicious! I recomend it for anyone."

"Great spot to kill some time while waiting for our flight after our cruise. Service was a little slow, and it didn't help that a thunder storm caught us dining outside; but over all a very good experience. The drinks were great and the food very nice."

"Great place to chill before boarding or after departing a cruise. For a tip they will store your bags while you eat, drink, and explore the Old City. Grouper nuggets were delicious! Fun place to meet up with fellow travelers."

"A little hard to find in Old San Juan and really could have used directions to parking garage that was a few blocks away. The Live Music was good and food was very good but cost was a little pricey. Overall very nice valetines day dinner."
