"From the moment we arrived, we knew this place would be special. The layering of flavors was exceptional. One of the best meals I've ever had. My spouse said the carpaccio was better than the same dish he had in Italy. We each had the pork chop. The waitress convinced me to get the collards, yes "collards", w/maple glaze. She was right, they were incredible. I was especially pleased to have turnips & they were delicious. The food is not cheap, but well worth it. We drove down from Columbia & will return. If I had one constructive comment it would be to rethink the table/chair arrangement. The pedestal supporting the table, & the chair were so large that could not comfortably move the chair close enough to the table"

"36th wedding anniversary dinner. Was treated with specially designed menus that had our name and Anniversary written on them at the top. A definite treasure we will cherish forever. Very classy establishment. Staff very attentive without being annoying. Easy to talk with and informative about the meals and the wine."

"We were treated as a priority. Our flower order was already arranged on the table, complete with personalized menus, and a complimentary desert after our meal. Initially, there was a misunderstanding on my part as to the day of the reservation, and I only remember casually mentioning it was our anniversary dinner.
So, the red carpet treatment we received was especially unexpected and special. The manager must have picked up on my disappointment over the phone at having to reschedule our anniversary dinner--that's service that goes above and beyond the call of duty. In the end, it was an amazing dining experience we'll not soon forget."

"The food and service is unbelievable. Without a doubt, The Hamptons is the BEST restaurant in Sumter, SC. While the menu is pricey, you get what you pay for. The food is well worth the price. Upscale dining in a not so upscale town!! We will go again...and again...and again!!!"

"We celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Hamptons. Everything was outstanding. The beef tenderloin & shrimp pasta dishes were delicious. The service was friendly & prompt. Other than being a bit noisy, the evening was terrific. We've been there before & we'll go there again."

"Dinner was fabulous, as usual. We had the seared scallops for an appetizer and they were amazing. Dinner was wonderful, as was dessert. We couldn't decide so we ordered the 'sampler plate' of desserts. Katie was our waitress and did a fabulous job. The Hampton's is always an enjoyable experience and we look forward to going back again soon!"

"It took us two years to finally plan on going and finally make reservations. Boy did we miss out on those two years! Although we went at early (6PM) it was still a very nice atmosphere and the entire staff was tremendous. The food was so good we are now going to go back on a regular basis; something we haven't done at any restaurant in this state before. Thanks for a great evening!"

"I haven't been in Sumter long, so maybe there are any number of gems left to discover, but this is the only place I've found that could hold its own with big city, fine dining establishments. Outstanding wine list, eclectic as can be, priced mostly on the moderate side of the median, but with a few well-known superstar names at the top if that's what you want. Food is imaginative, local as they can manage, and changing pretty much every day to take advantage of what's available."

"Top of the line service from entrance to the completion of the meal. Chef changes the menu daily so it's creativity at it's finest. Staff very knowledgable of each dish. House wines are above average and moderately priced. Seating is comfortable and well spread out not to seem claustrophobic. Ok, here's what we had: RIb eye steak - perfect! Veal wrapped with prosciutto - Awesome. First course apps were just as good - squash filled raviolis and tuna tart-tare. Parking is in the lot around back. Its an unassuming place that has a pastel yellow storefront. Also, the Alleyway which is part of the the the Hampton, coolest place to enjoy some local music and drinks. Very casual both rest and alleyway."

"What a surprise! Had heard the Hampton's was a lovely place to dine and that the food was spectacular but far exceeded my expectations. Can hardly wait to go again though it is a 40 minute drive for me due to a bridge being out between Florence and Sumter. This fact does not deter me. Though this restaurant is nestled just off of Main St on Hampton Street, thus the name, the owners have created an ambiance through a garden al fresco dining entrance with a roaring massive fireplace for cooler evenings.
This restaurant rates excellent in all areas except the few I left unchecked due to lack of knowledge being my first time there. They have a lovely web site so more in depth info can be easily accessed and Open Table is a plus."

"My friends and I agree that our visit with ya'll last Friday night was an extraordinary dining experience. The attention and service we received from Velvet and the others made our evening so pleasant. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and you all were so willing to make us feel so welcomed, and that we were! The complimentary drinks for us to toast the "birthday girl" and her "candle lit dessert" was such a special treat, as was the entire 2 hours we spent enjoying your warm and caring attention. We will return for your decious and unique entrees along with the epitome of true Southern Hospitility!

"My wife and I have eaten here twice, for special occasions. Both times the food and servcie were top notch. We look forward to our next visit and highly recommend Hamptons to anyone looking for fantastic food and dinning for that special occasion."

"Didn't expect this caliber restaurant in Sumter, SC...very nice, very upscale..not terribly expensive, limited (but interesting) menu. Very nice service, a welcome change from bored servers and/or touristy fake-Southern. Highly recommended."
