Tilghman Island Inn A Feast for the Senses in a Magical Setting.Dining. Ah, dining. Where do we begin? The usual descriptors just seem to ring hollow when applied to the dining experience here at the Tilghman Island Inn. The physical location of the Inn, in addition to being so visually enchanting, is also the source of its culinary distinction, the palette on which our chefs create a medley of both traditional and innovative dishes. Seafood fresh from the water's edge and produce from surrounding farmlands are the basis for a menu whose style and sophistication evolves subtly as the seasons change. For us to proclaim the excellence of our cuisine, of course, is easy. On the other hand, earning Wine Spectator's prestigious Award of Excellence since 1996 is not. "Friends asked us to join for restaurant week, said they hadn't been in ages, had a bad expeerience years ago but wanted to try it again. Happy to join despite a long drive. Thought we'd made a mistake b/c we were not given restaurant week menus when we were seated. Turns out you have to ask??? Among 4 of us, we tried all three choices for 3 courses. For appies: pea cakes & salad were good, mussles were best with chorizo & flavorful broth. For entres: salmon was overcooked & portion was TEENIE, it's a good thing the risotto was tasty & plentiful! Veggie lasgana & beef bourg w/noodles were ordinary. Dessert was best: key lime tart, creme brulee, and fudgy chocolate ice cream. Good wine choices/prices. Our server was surly; we felt unwanted."

"We love this place, the food, wine, service and atmosphere are always superb. The wine dinners are among the best, the menus and wines are perfectly matched and we go for both. It's one of our all-time favorite restaurants anywhere. A menu staple, the black-eyed pea cakes are just one of several unusual and delicious treats the restaurant offers. This is a can't-miss when visiting the Shore and well worth any drive."
