"The whole experience felt like we were being herded into a dining hall. The restaurant packed in the people, didn't have enough wait staff, and created a terrible atmosphere. I asked for a different combination of food (things that were all on the menu) and was told that they didn't want to accommodate special orders. Later sat without silverware for a while after our food came. This used to be a special occasion restaurant for me, but I think I'll put it on my lunch list. Despite the difficulties, the food was very good."

"My husband and I were looking forward to having dinner at Scott's, old favorite.
But we were disappointed. They were out of several of our favorite wines and had

"This was our third time at Scott's and I doubt we will be back. The biggest problem is just how slow the service has been the last two times we have been there. The dishes are either very good or over the top salty. While I find sitting on their back patio with the soft sound of their water features very pleasant, it really should not take over 30 minutes to get our salad especially when the restaurant is half empty."

"I have been going to Scott's for years and I've always have a great experience and meal. However this time I will have to think twice about going back. We ordered a Baked Dungeoness Crab and Shrimp Au Gratin. It was horrible to say the least. The crab and shrimp were swimming in an overly cheesy alfredo sauce. That is if you could find the crab and shrimp. For the price it was ridiculous. Our service matched our meal. I have had terrific service in the past but it seemed that the waitress just plain forgot about the entire section we were sitting in. To top it off we were celebrating my birthday, so I won't make this mistake again."

"We were 7 for dinner and the food was truly outstanding. I had the herb crusted halibut cooked to perfection, other dishes were crab pasta, seafood saute, wild salmon, crab salad, seafood salad, halibut cheeks. Everyone were ooohing and aahhhhing, every dish presented beautifully and prepared to perfection. Ambiance is usually wonderful (lighting, decor, piano player) except this time we were seated in the far right corner next to the servers station, feeling rather secluded, and we seemed to be forgotten by our server. He didn't show for 1/2 hour at a time. We were pouring our own wine and had to hunt for what we needed. Usually service is excellent. Conversation in large groups can be challenging due to noise level."

"My family took our mother to Scotts the evening before mother's day for her "special" dinner. We had an early reservation and were seated as we arrived. Everyone found something they liked on the menu: we ordered the petite fillet, the sand dabs, the seafood saute and the halibut cheeks (the sand dabs were de-boned table-side). Service was good when waiter was there, but very slow. They had a happy hour for draft beers which one of our party particularly enjoyed. We have done the Scotts "mother's day brunch" several times and did not feel it was good value for the money, making a reservation for the evening before was a much better idea and a nicer experience."

"I took my long time friend to Scott's for her Birthday Dinner. She chose Scott's as we both really love this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was excellent as well. We also enjoyed a cocktail at the bar before dinner and truly enjoyed the bartender. My friend was so surprised and pleased with her birthday rose and photograph she said she want's to go to Scott's again to celebrate my birthday in July, and next year to celebrate her birthday again. The rose and photo of the two of us was a lovely touch! We do frequent Scott's for lunch quite often and have never been disappointed. We do not dine at Scott's for dinner that often, but do hope to start making it a regular experience. We had a simply wonderful evening."

"There were (7) of us dining outdoors near the water falls which was really nice,for my daughter's high school graduation, but the food was very poor.The halibut tasted fried, very over cooked and did not have a pleasant taste.The vegetables were cooked nice, but tasteless.The baked potatoes were on the cool side and had no zip to them.The salmon was a very, very small piece and was very dry and tasteless.The sliced potatoes that came with the salmon were dried out and tasteless.My 90 year old parents ordered Snapper and assumed it would be a nice piece of grilled fish, but it was deep fried and they didn't even eat it.I was shocked and so disappointed with the quality of the food, and the prices were high.

However, we were seated in the bar area because of the holiday crowd, and we could not carry on a conversation because of the proximity of the piano/saxophone combo. "I have been to many brunch at numerous restaurant but Scott's has definitely been the worst experience ever. We made reservation for Mother's Day brunch in hopes to make my mom feel special like everyone else. We were quoted 2 different prices by his manager Daniel & 1 of the hostess that answered the phone. 1st time we called they said $45 & the second time they said $49. So i said ok $49 is still reasonable being a holiday. We also made a request to have a booth though we knew that it wasn't guaranteed but at least inside bc 1of our guest had knee surgery. When we got there the 3 hostess didn't even acknowledge that. When we got the bill they charged us $59.That's shady business right there. I have more to tell on yelp about the servers."

"Bar waitress asked to wait on restaurant tables, completely inexperienced, we had a party of four, she did not know the menu forgot my drink, forgot my salad, my swordfish was very dry she never checked on us, ordered two desserts only got one and she was afraid to approach our table so she had buser serve the desert, extremely long wait for any of the food to arrive other tables got theirs on time, when we finally got our bill we discovered items included on our bill that we did not order."

"Went to Scott's for Mother's Day brunch. Food was good but the price had gone up to $59 a person. Not many places are worth that much and I can honestly say nothing served was the "best" thing I've ever had. I wouldn't talk anyone out of it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it. I'm all about the food and it just wasn't worth the high price."

"We had a special occasion and the table across from us had 2 children and the 2 adults and children all had cell phones they were playing games on with the volume up high. In my right ear i was hearing the beautiful live band they had and the left ear was hearing beeb,beeb,beeb all through the dinner. What a waist."

"I chose Scott's for Mother's Day because I felt it was a safe choice - one with good-enough food and a menu that would fit all tastes.
I hoped that the outcome would exceed my expectation. It didn't. Slow service. Sloppy presentation of food. Overly spiced fish: salmon flavor was overwhelmed & calamari appetizer was too picante for half the table. C+ rating for meal. Nice room w/piano bar made for good ambience."

"My husband brought me and my mother here for our mother's day dinner. Parking was a breeze due to their free valet parking. We were taken to our table immediately upon checking in. It took a few minutes to get a drink and to order our food but well worth it. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting food choices and alternatives. We brought our two children along which thankfully one of them behaved. Had a great time and experience. We will be going back with no children soon."

"We had reservations for 6.Two of our group coming from Los Altos got caught in terrible traffic and their trip took them 3 hours to arrive.We waited at our table and the host and his staff were more than gracious with our delay.Assuring us it was no problem even tho we were over an hour until the last group arrived.What could have been a very uncomfortable experience became a pleasent dining experience with wonderful dishes for all and great service.It was a pleasure to dine here and we wil surely be back soon"

"I enjoyed the atmosphere better than the food at Scotts and I am talking about Seafood. In both cases I found our disjes to be overcooked.
I had the Tuna Sashimi and overcooking that is inexcusable. Also, there was something funny about the way ot was cutting when eating it. Maybe it was carved the wrig way (perpendicular to the grain) or had not been properly thawed before cooking
Plan to try it agian. Lovely outside garden in the heart of WC."

"I made reservations because of good reviews online. When I walked in, I was hit with a smell of old, and then I saw the decor. I was transported back into the 80ies! The waiter seemed to dissapear at time although the restaurant was fairly empty. While the food was good, the salmon was NOT worth $30. Scalloped potatoes were just a pile of grease. At some point the elevator music got so loud, I couldn't hear the conversation. It calmed down after about 5 minutes. I wanted to like this restaurant, but I just got a feeling of a retirement home................."

"*Such* a beautiful restaurant, complimentary valet parking, free parking on the street on Sundays; put on a dress and be treated to a night of fine dining in a wonderful ambience! Scott's is a resort-style dining experience tucked into a beautifully-manicured area of downtown Walnut Creek, CA. It's food is good (~4/5), I'm told the wine selection is superb (although I don't drink), and the atmosphere is *amazing*. The only complaint I have of Scott's is the same complaint I have of every 4- and 5-star restaurant in the Bay Area: why get your teas from Stash when Peet's is ubiquitous? ;P"

"The food at Scott's in Walnut Creek is always great. I've also dined at the Oakland location but it's just missing something. The food is always dependably good and the ambience is nice as I've never found it to be noisy. The outdoor patio is very nice. Love this restaurant as it never disappoints."

"Scott's Seafood has been my favorite place to go for my birthday for five years. The food and service are always delicious and the ambiance on the weekends is great with a piano player and some soft jazz playing.
They always are very accommodating in modifying dishes to your taste / dietary requirements. And for your birthday, they give you a dessert with a candle, a rose, and take your picture. It's been a fun place every year."
