Buffalo's most popular "new world" Italian style restaurant. Superb service, white linens and extensive wine menu selections. Featuring handmade gnocchi, classic pasta bolognese, and piping-hot risotto's made to order. "Tempo has the best food around. Perfectly seasoned and prepared. The portions are a one sitting serving size, you can complete the mean there. However, for the portion size the cost is quite expensive so it is a special occasion only resturant.
Also, they will ask you to leave your table and sit at the bar if you've finished your meal, want to sit and talk with your companions and they need your table. This has happened to me so now I don't go there with friends when I know we'll want to talk and catch up after dinner. I will go with my husband when I know after our meal we need to get home to pay the sitter. However, they make me feel rushed and after the meal I feel we have to quickly pay and leave so they can have the table."

"We arrived to Tempo right when the restaurant opened and there weren't too many people, but within minutes other reservations were arriving. The staff is extremely attentive and the bussing staff does a great job observing diners and clearing plates as soon as possible. The food was outstanding! All of our dishes were cooked to perfection and were the perfection portion. Everything we ordered looked exactly as we had expected, due to the very detailed menu. They have a very extensive wine list complete with a glass or bottle of wine for every price point. The bartender was very confident in his skill and the mixed drinks were great. Definitely a little on the pricey end, but well worth every penny!"

"First time at this restaurant for a special occasion celebrating my husband's promotion. This is the famous "Hutch's" 3rd restaurant in the area. Fabulous in every way. "Excellent upscale restaurant with fantastic food. Although sevice was a little slow that evening (for which the waiter apologized), it allowed us ample time to relax between courses. Sat upstairs, which was definitely a bit quieter than downstairs, which we preferred. We were glad to have a generous gift certificate to use to pay for our meal, as this place is on the pricier side (entrees in the upper $30s). For two people who ordered a glass of wine, a couple beers, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert (to go), bill came to $142. However, it's also possible to spend less if ordering pastas as your main course. Really enjoyed the complimentary olive plate and breads too. No complaints and looking forward to returning in the future!"

"It was Valentine's Day mind you, but the experience was not pleasant. Tempo had over booked the restaurant, they would only give you one slice of bread and you would have to call a busy waiter over to get another slice for yourself if you wanted one. The Food was no where near worth the price that they serve it for, the menu was confusing, the waiter would try to get each member of your table to order 3-5 separate items as "that's just Italian traditional dining",they didn't offer to make any special accommodations for the people that had to wait by a freezing cold door because there was no where to sit, the small bar was full, and they did not even offer anything for free to compensate for the ridiculously poor planning. Never going back."

"The service was attentive and professional. We arrived to an empty room for a 6PM dinner but it soon filled up. A foie gras appetizer was delicious. An arugula salad consisted of an unappealing tightly packed mass of leaves, poorly sliced prosciutto and a forgettable dressing. Well cooked Mahi Mahi was overwhelmed by a pink glop of sauce. "Great experience from start to finish. We're met at door by host and hostess who recognized our reservation without checking the list. Sat promptly with menu, specials and wine list. Greeted quickly by waiter who provided water and took drink order. Food was prepared well, great combination of creative dishes and rarer Italian formal classics. Well timed food arrival with little dead time. Food warm. Wait staff readily available without being obtrusive. Nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend."
